Kayden’s POV
I walked out of the mansion and proceeded out to the parking lot, I stopped by my car and the door got opened, I stepped into the car and dropped my suitcase by my side.
“Go,” I ordered and the car began moving.
The car started off as usual, at a slow pace before picking up momentum. I took my position by the window side, my favourite.
As the car gained momentum, so did the breeze increase, washing my face with their great pleasure.
After the ride which took less than 10 minutes, the car stopped in front of the company. I sat still till the car was opened, I stepped out of the car and handed my suitcase to my personal assistant who didn’t really do much work since I preferred doing things my way and without some silly humans interfering in my business.
“Good morning sir.”
“Good morning sir.”
I ignored the greetings as I have always done and proceeded into my office, I walked in along with my personal assistant.
“Get me a cup of coffee, black and without sugar,” I said to him, settling down to my seat.
“Yes sir,” he replied and walked out of the office.
A few minutes later he was back with the cup of coffee in his hands, I took it from him and placed it on my table.
“Anything else sir?” he asked and I merely dismissed him with a wave of my hands
A few minutes later, the door opened and I didn’t need anyone to tell me it was Davis.
“Good morning Alpha….”
“To the point,” I demanded, looking up at him, definitely showing huge interest in the issue.
“Where is the beta of the attacked pack I asked you to bring here for me?” I asked.
“I already invited him here, he should be on his way right now,” he replied and I scoffed.
“You invited him? That means you have him the opportunity to accept it decline the invitation?” I asked.
“Of course, he would not dare to do that.” He replied.
“I ordered him here, I didn’t invite him.” I seethed and he nodded obediently.
“I want him here in two hours,” I said to him and saw him bite his lips.
“So the other task?” I asked.
“The other task?” He asked in a manner that indicated that he was oblivious to what I was saying.
I breathed in and out deeply, pressed my lips into a thin line and gazed at him intently.
“I asked you to revisit the damned pack! Didn’t I?!” I half yelled at him, losing my cool.
Like how in the hell would a beta forget a task?
“I… I am sorry, I kinda forgot about it but I have been there,” he replied and I took in two deep breaths to calm myself down.
“Found anything?” I asked and he shook his head to indicate negativity.
“I didn’t find anything yet apart from some silver bullets which after I examined carefully, I found out that the words WF were inscribed on them,” he said and brought out a white plastic bag and dropped it on the table before me.
I brought out the silver bullets and held them between my finger, it sizzled my skin but with the silver resistance training that I had, it didn’t hurt much.
I checked out the inscriptions and it was written on each bullet.
“What do you think WF means?” He asked.
“You ask me such a dumb question? It means Wolf hunters. Those god-damned people!” I hit the table with my fists.
“And then I saw this note too on one of the scenes,” he added and places a note written in clear ink on a paper.
I picked up the note and read the note, Jay growled loudly, his anger increased as he moved aggressively in me trying to take over.
“We are going to slowly get all of you….. WF”
“Let this stupid set of wolf hunters just come here, can they just do me that favour? I would love to see their blood dripping continuously!” I seethed, hardly able to contain my anger and that of Jay which was far more aggressive than mine.
My eyes blinked severally and Davis moved backwards, he knew I was being angry and I might lose it and shapeshift right here.
He moved swiftly to the door and locked it up to avoid any other person coming in.
“Jay! Calm down! You are going to put us even into more trouble!” I yelled at him and he calmed down a bit but still growled at regular intervals.
I rested in my seat and shut my eyes, after a while, Jay stopped growling and I sat up from the seat.
“They are daring, really daring,” I mumbled.
“What should I do next?” Davis asked and I kept mute.
I had no idea at the moment how I could get these wolf hunters, they have always… Always been my worst enemies! But then I could not go into the streets and start asking each human which of them was a wolf hunter.
“I currently have no idea, let me think.” I requested and tapped the table with the pen that was on it.
“Yeah, and you should think also” I added.
“Yes Alpha,” he replied.
I rubbed my creased brows, smoothening them into position once more.
“You may leave Davis, I need some space.” I dismissed him.
“Oh… Okay, Alpha,” he replied and exited the room.
I stood up from where I was seated and headed to the restroom that was situated in my office, I turned on the rap and splashed some water on my face.
I knew that I needed to cool off my brain for a moment. I brought out my phone from my pockets and scrolled through the list of contact of girls I had on my phone, searching for the appropriate one to call but I wasn’t so interested in that.
I needed another form of relaxation, maybe I would just do something I haven’t done in a while, chill out in a bar and drink.
“Alpha Kayden.” I heard Davis call my name and I tucked my phone into my pockets again, walking out into the office.
“What else? You have an idea already?” I asked, taking my seat.
“The beta is here.”
