Book:Save Me Mate Published:2024-5-1

Samantha’s POV
“I… I am almost done cleaning, I would immediately after that.” I replied her.
“Really? I want you out of here right at this moment!” She yelled at me.
“I am sorry ma’am, but then Alpha Kayden won’t like it if I leave his room when I am not done cleaning his room. I will hasten up and leave the room, ma’am.” I replied.
“Who the heck do you think you’re talking to? No, that’s not the right question, I should be asking, who are you?”
“Hello, my name is Samantha, you can call me Sam if you so please ma’am,” I replied and heard her scoff loudly like she was annoyed.
“Did I say anything wrong?” I mumbled to Cara.
“Did I tell you I need to know your stupid name? Listen I want you out of this room right now, I don’t care what you are doing, I don’t care if you are still cleaning or you’re done cleaning, I just want you out!” She seethed, her voice filled with venom which I could at this moment feel emitting from her.
I stood in the room, not knowing what to say. The lady standing in front of me would go to extents to get what she wants but then Alpha Kayden… He could kill me in a second.
I was snapped out of my thoughts by the footsteps and j looked to see that she was already approaching me.
“You are a slave, you are used to any sort of pains,” I mumbled to myself.
I closed my eyes tight expecting whatever was going to come.
“Lauren.” I heard that deep, authoritative voice call, Alpha Kayden.
I slowly opened my eyes to find him standing beside us.
“Alpha Kayden.” I greeted.
“What the heck is going on here Lauren?” He asked the lady in front of me.
“I came to see you.” the lady smiled at him, a friendly smile but the cold look on Alpha Kayden’s face indicated that the friendliness was not mutual.
“And what the hell are you doing in my room? I thought I made myself clear that I do not want anyone in my room while I am not there!” Alpha Kayden scolded her and I saw her flinch.
I flinched myself, his tone and voice could break the heart of the strongest and make them pee in their pants.
“I… Kay….”
“My respects.” Alpha Kayden demanded.
“Alpha Kayden, you allowed her into your room while you were not there so why wouldn’t you allow me into your room? I am your best friend!”
“Wow! She is Alpha Kayden’s best friend, they both look and seem cold. A proof that birds of same feathers flock together.” Cara said to me and I held back smiles at the comment.
“Out of my room.” Alpha Kayden ordered and she began moving backwards.
“You still owe me an explanation, you can’t…”
“I do not love repeating words.” Alpha Kayden groaned, his voice impatient.
Lauren moved out of the room but not before giving me a look, a look that showed clear hatred. Her eyes told me ‘she hated me’
“Did she do anything to you?” Alpha Kayden’s asked.
“No Alpha” I replied.
I would have loved to ask him why he let me into his room but then that might annoy him, I just have to stay in line and that way I would be able to keep my head on my neck.
“Get done with the cleaning,” he ordered and I replied with multiple nods.
“Words Mantha.” he requested.
“Y… Yes, Alpha.” I replied and got to cleaning immediately.
A few minutes later I was done and I packed all that I used in my hands.
I glanced over at Alpha Kayden who was sitting before his study table with a book in his hands.
“I am done Alpha, I would take my leave now Alpha,” I mumbled and he glanced at me making me divert my gaze to the floor.
I could feel his sharp gaze on me for a few seconds before he finally spoke up.
“You can leave.”
“Thank you, Alpha.” I rushed out of the room, closer to the door behind me and leaned against the wall beside me.
“Done!” I breathed out in relief and began to walk to the maid’s quarters.
I arrived just in time to see Cassie.
“How did your cleaning go?” She asked and I shook my head.
“Messy,” I replied.
“You got into trouble with Alpha Kayden?” She asked and I shook my head to indicate the negative response.
“I did not but then at first the lady who brought me the meal came to meet me, she yelled at me….”
“That should be Ma’am Melissa, she is the assistant head of the maids.” Cassie cut me off momentarily.
“That’s not all, minutes after she was gone, I was glad that she was gone and I was almost done with the cleaning until the door opened again and another lady came in, Alpha Kayden’s best friend… What was her name?… Lauren I think, she scolded me endlessly.” I finished the narration of my experience.
“She is always like that, she is not kind to any of us but just take a look at her whenever Alpha Kayden is around or the retired Alpha and Luna, she would suddenly turn to you with a smile lacing her evil face,” Cassie replied.
“Her smile usually looks this way,” Cassie said and grinned widely in a hilarious manner.
“Serious. sly” I laughed and I thought for a while that it seemed weird, the sound of my laughter, I had grown up to hear only the laughter of the slave masters and the laughter of some of the inmates that eventually went insane amongst us.
“I am not kidding, and then it looks like the devil itself is smiling at you,” she added.
“Is that how she is to everyone?” I asked.
We were on our way to the dining hall to go get some food to eat.
“Not to everyone, and she doesn’t tell that much, she just seems to complain too much,” Cassie replied.
“Then why would she complain about me so much? I am just new here.” I mumbled.
“Cassie, if not for Alpha Kayden’s intervention, she might have slapped me,” I grumbled to her.
“Poor thing. Let me tell you this…” she looked around to make sure no one was looking at us.
“She loves Alpha Kayden but Alpha Kayden is indifferent to her love, she doesn’t want any lady around him. She must have been angry to hear that there was a lady in his room.”
“Stop saying lady, I am an SLA… Maid There is no way Alpha Kayden would feel attracted to me, she does not need to feel insecure.”
“You might be a maid but still yet you are still a lady,” Cassie replied.
“She didn’t need to be so hostile to me, it’s not much of my fault that Alpha Kayden doesn’t reciprocate the feelings, so why should I be the one being scolded?”
“Wait a minute, she does not have a mate?” I asked curiously.
“I have no idea about that.” Cassie shook her head.
“And Alpha Kayden, he has not found his mate?” I asked and her eyes widened.
She suddenly threw her hands over my mouth.
“Talking about Alpha Kayden’s mate is the worst statement you can make in this mansion! Do not ever, ever mention it again if you want to keep your head.”
