Lauren’s POV
I should go see Kayden today, perhaps he would find me beautiful today.
I just hope he does not reject me, yet again. We were good friends, but he is suddenly being so distant.
“You know this is not what you are supposed to do Lauren,” Zim said to me, she was my wolf side and that sentence would be the first she said to me ever since I turned down our mate for Kayden.
No doubts she kinda hated Kayden but then it’s about me, it’s about this unquenchable love and desire that I do have for him.
“Zim, I love him”
“What about our mate?” She asked.
“I do not love him, I don’t have a single feeling for him,” I replied.
“You would along the line, you would fall in love with our mate.”
“I won’t” I replied adamantly.
“Just like Kayden won’t love you too?” She asked and I clenched my fists.
“He is never going to love you, let’s forget about him and get back to our mate. Rejecting him for Kayden who won’t even spare you a glance is nothing but a huge mistake! A mistake that you can still correct right now.” she replied.
“If loving Kayden is a mistake, then I want to continue with that mistake for the rest of my life and Zim, you are wrong, very soon Kayden will find me special and love me back,” I said to her and heard her sigh.
“You’d never change.”
I ignored Zim’s words and headed to my closet, I picked a pink dress, that would be perfect.
I glanced at the wall clock, I had to quicken up if I was still going to meet Kayden before he leaves for work. I just had to tell him that I came to see his mum and then we can have a little chat.
“You can continue with your dreams.” Zim cut in my thoughts but I didn’t respond to her, I said no words.
I dressed up in the pink gown and applied light makeup, I released my hair from the bond that it had been tied up in, it flowed down my shoulders. I looked into the mirror and smiled at my reflection.
I looked no doubt beautiful, only if Kayden would think of me that way.
I grabbed my car keys and walked out of my home, locking the door properly before getting into my car.
“Good luck to myself,” I mumbled.
“I am not wishing you that on this case” Zim groaned but I ignored her words still yet.
I ignited the car and zoomed off, tearing through the lonely streets. I was allowed into the estate almost immediately after all I was a regular person there.
I parked my car in front of the huge mansion that stood out majestically.
“Be positive today Lauren,” I mumbled to myself, grabbed my bag and alighted from the car.
“You are welcome ma’am” Melissa greeted me with a huge smile on her face.
“Hey, Melissa.” I waved at her, she was the assistant head of all maids in the mansion.
I got kind of close to her so I could get some information from her on Kayden.
“Is Alpha Kayden in his room?” I asked and she shook her head in a negative response.
“No he is not, ma’am Melissa,” she replied and I furrowed my brows.
“He left for work so early?” I asked, taking a look at the wristwatch on my wrist.
It’s a Saturday, a day when Kayden didn’t go to work as early as he usually did.
“No ma’am, he is around but not in his room ma’am,” she replied.
“Really? And hell, he won’t let anyone sit in his room when he is not there, I would have loved to sit there and wait for him” I mumbled.
“Ma’am Lauren…..” Melissa started but stopped Midway which made me raise a brow.
“You want to tell me something?” I asked, in hope that she would tell me about Kayden.
“There is this new girl Alpha Kayden brought in himself.” she started, her voice as low as a whisper.
“Alpha Kayden allowed her alone in his room.” she finished her sentence and my eyes widened.
“What… What did you just say?” I asked, trying to comprehend what she just told me.
“Alpha Kayden let her stay in his room?”
“Who is she?” I asked.
“I have no idea about her identity. She was brought in by Alpha Kayden to become a maid,” she replied.
“A maid? Just a maid, Alpha Kayden let a maid in his room alone?” I asked, still in surprise and she nodded a couple of times.
“Where is this maid right now?” I asked.
“She is in Alpha Kayden’s room presently” she replied and that increased my fury.
“Doing what?”
“Cleaning up his room,” Melissa replied and it sounded even more strange.
“Don’t you have to work for at least years to be able to clean Alpha Kayden’s room?” I questioned.
“Yes, but she is an exception,” Melissa replied.
“I’ve got to see this girl right away!” I groaned and began to walk towards the stairs.
Samantha’s POV
“Hey, get up and go have a quick bath,” Cassie said, tapping me.
“Oh, okay. Good morning” I yawned sleepily, getting up from the bed.
I stretched my stiff bones and watched the others picking up towels that had been hung. I moved forward and took a blue towel.
I loved the colour blue so much. I grabbed my maid’s uniform and followed Cassie till we got to a long row of bathrooms.
“Check out for an empty bathroom and have your bath so we can go over to clean alpha Kayden’s room.” She said to me.
“Sure” I replied and knocked on a couple of doors.
One was open and I got into it. I took my bath, a quick one and dressed up in the maid’s uniform.
I got out of the bathroom and Cassie stepped out at almost the same time.
“Good thing you’re done, let’s go clean before going for our meal.”
We both held each other’s hands and walked away from the maid’s quarters entirely.
We walked to the door of alpha Kayden’s room.
Cassie was about to knock when the door opened and out stepped Alpha Kayden.
“Good morning Alpha.” both I and Cassie bowed in greetings.
“A… Alpha, since you are… Not going to be in your… your room, we would take our leave and be back later” Cassie said.
“Mantha,” he called.
“Yes Alpha”
“Go into my room and clean it up, you only,” he said and my brows furrowed.
“Cara, what do you think is going on?” I mumbled to her.
“Alpha Kayden, I heard you…”
“Get in. Now.” He ordered and walked away.
“This… This is unbelievable and strange!” Cassie murmured as soon as alpha Kayden was out of hearing the shot.
“Why would he ask you to get into his room when he is not going to be there?”Cassie wondered.
“I have no idea, whatever reason it might be, I hope it’s good.” I breathed in and out, opened the door and walked into the room, taking in alpha Kayden’s scent which filled the room.
He does smell nice. I gazed at the majesty of the room one more time before getting to work.
I still couldn’t understand why he brought me here.
“Maybe because he wants to implicate us by saying something got missing in his room,” Cara suggested and I gasped before realizing that could only be impossible.
Why would he bring me into his home just to implicate me? Why would he save me from his mother’s hands just to implicate me?
“That can’t be the reason Cara”

“Oh, good morning ma’am” I greeted with a bow.
For that single moment, the hair covering the mark of me being a slave swept off the spot but I don’t think she noticed it at all.
“What the heck are you doing here?” She thundered making me flinch slightly.
“I am here to clean up” I replied.
“Clean up? When alpha Kayden is not in the room?” She asked.
“Alpha Kayden personally asked me to clean up the room” I replied.
“Who the heck do you think you are? You just popped in and you were assigned Alpha Kayden’s room and now you’re cleaning up his room when he’s not even in!” She scolded.
“I am sorry ma’am but alpha Kayden told me to take up all of that. I hope you are not angered.”
“You are joking with your life, can you take responsibility if something gets missing here?” She asked, her eyes blazing.
“Yes, I definitely would ” I replied even though I knew I had nothing but it was obvious that this woman in front of me was going to make life awful for me if I didn’t tell her I was going to own up.
“You are going to take responsibility? With what? You have nothing!” She half yelled at me
“I have my life” I mumbled
“Okay! If you insist Samantha, then you’d be taking full responsibility if anything happens.” she seethed and walked out of the room.
I let out a bountiful breath and shook my head slightly.
I continued my work, the room was large so cleaning up by one person took some extra time.
I was almost done when the door was flung open and a lady stepped in, her dark hair flowing to her shoulders and her body wrapped up in a pink gown.
“Good day….” I was cut off by three harsh words from her;
“Get out! Now!”
Writer’s POV
Cassie walked down the stairs, still confused as to why Alpha Kayden would let someone in his room.
“Cassie, are you done cleaning alpha Kayden’s room?” It was Melissa, the assistant head of the maids in the house.
“No ma’am, he won’t be in his room so I can’t clean his room but then he asked Samantha to clean it up,” Cassie replied.
“Alpha Kayden asked someone to clean his room without him being there? This Samantha… She’s the new girl?” Melissa asked, it was quite evident that her hate for Samantha was growing rapidly.
“Yes ma’am”
Cassie watched Melissa breathe in and out deeply before storming off.
Melissa walked off to Alpha Kayden’s room with fast and angry steps but she halted immediately after she got to the door.
She could not deny the fear she had for this room but then a new maid was in there, and she who has been working for them for so many years is denied access.
She pressed her lips into a thin line and slowly pushed open the door.
“Samantha” she called.
