“Hi!” a familiar voice greeted. When Lemon turned to look, she saw Drew approaching her.
“Hey! You’re early,” she smiled as he sat on the chair across from her.
Kip sent a group message, informing them that break was over and they needed to have a meeting. It was at one in the afternoon, but Lemon went to the studio at ten in the morning.
“I thought they’d come here early,” he grinned. “How about you? Why are you here already?” he asked, leaning back.
“I was home alone. Kale left with Auntie Dahlia, and mom’s at the shop,” she told him, to which he nodded.
It felt awkward when Drew stopped talking. But instead of being bothered by his silence, Lemon focused on her phone.
At times, she couldn’t help but laugh when she came across Kevz’s posts on Facebook. After a while, her phone beeped. It was another message from the anonymous texter.
‘Glad to see you’re okay now.’
Lemon’s forehead creased immediately. It had been a while since she got a message from that number. Without her knowing why? She suddenly looked at Drew.
‘Could it be him? But why does he have to send a message when he can just talk to me?’ She shook her head to dismiss the thought. ‘Nah, it can’t be.’
Still, she felt intrigued. So, after mustering enough courage, she asked for Drew’s number. After that, silence enveloped the terrace once again.
Lemon positioned herself in a way that she could look at Drew subtly. She suddenly recalled the first time they met. They were all good-looking, but it was him who caught her attention.
From where she was sitting, Lemon could see Drew’s thick lashes with his head bowed down. He has red lips and, of course, that gorgeous nose.
“Partner! Stop staring, or Drew will melt!” It was Kevz, and he showed up out of nowhere.
Lemon suddenly felt cold, especially when Drew looked at him with his eyebrows knitted. The side of his lips curled up.
“Silly!” She snapped, her voice cracking a bit. Fortunately, it wasn’t that obvious, or it would be shameful.
“I caught you! You’re staring at him!” he continued, and she suddenly wished for the floor to swallow her whole.
“I-It’s because he’s too quiet,” she pouted.
Drew chuckled, and she couldn’t help but smile at his cuteness. It was the first time he reacted like that with her involved.
“That’s because we don’t have anything to talk of,” Drew stated, and her smile dissipated.
‘What a snob!’
“What time are they coming?” Kevz asked, and Lemon was able to breathe as the topic changed.
“Kip’s call time is at one, but they might be here in a while,” she told him.
“Come here, Partner,” tapping the space next to him as he sat on the railings.
Lemon quickly followed, and he even helped her up. She played music on her phone, and they started singing along. Drew, however, was focused on his phone.
After a while, he excused himself, “I’ll just go down to check on Anne,” he told them, but Lemon didn’t bother responding.
From their position, Lemon and Kevz saw how Drew opened the taxi’s door for the girl. They also saw how they hugged and kissed each other.
She felt something pinch her heart. Yes, she liked Drew. But she felt weird as she didn’t feel the same when she saw him with other girls in the past. Averting her gaze, she started feeling annoyed for an unknown reason.
“Guys, this is Anne,” Drew told them.
She forced herself to smile, but Kevz was generous enough to shake the girl’s hand. They sat at the table but moved the chairs closer to each other before doing so.
Minutes passed, and they started tickling each other. As they were becoming more of an eyesore, Lemon looked away. But she can still hear the girl’s annoying giggles.
“I’m going down,” she told Kevz, and he nodded. She didn’t bother excusing herself from the couple as they were busy flirting.
Downstairs, she plopped on the couch and closed her eyes. She was planning to nap since the rest of the group hadn’t arrived yet and to get rid of the irritation she was feeling as well.
She left her legs hanging on the armchair with her arm covering her eyes. She also left her phone playing music on the coffee table.
Not sure how long had passed, Lemon woke up feeling hot. When she opened her eyes, a blanket covered her waist down.
Unbothered by who did it, she checked her phone only to see it was only past eleven. Time was slow, and it was starting to irritate her.
Lemon decided to continue napping but felt the urge to use the toilet. Pushing herself up, she headed to the restroom but was surprised by the scene she witnessed inside.
The seat cover was put down, with Drew sitting there. The girl was sitting on his lap, facing him, with her cropped top taken off.
‘What the fuck!? Why are they molesting each other here?!’ Lemon immediately closed the door, creating a loud noise, followed by scrambling from upstairs.
In a state of panic, she snatched her phone and ran out. Meanwhile, from the terrace, Kevz heard a scream and the door banging, so he jumped off the railings and ran downstairs, but no one was there.
He sat on the couch, and the restroom door flew open. From there, Drew and Anne emerged. The girl even blushed when she saw Kevz, but in his mind, he was laughing.
It wasn’t the first time Drew had done it. But in all fairness, they had been going out longer than two weeks. The girl must have something the others don’t, so she lasted longer.
Drew acknowledged Kevz’s presence and then turned to whisper to Anne. The girl then sat on the single-seater while Drew headed to the backyard, onto the second floor, and down again.
“Where’s Leslie?” he asked, confusing Kevz.
“She was not here when I came down. Didn’t she tell you if she’s going somewhere?” He asked, but the couple just looked at each other.
Kevz pulled his phone out to call Lemon, but she was not answering. After three attempts, he stopped trying. Seconds after, Kip and the rest of their bandmates finally arrived.
“Let’s grab some lunch first,” Kip suggested.
“Sure, where are we eating? It’s almost lunchtime anyway,” Homme echoed.
Everyone decided to eat at the closest food chain. Homme and Kip went straight to the counter. While Drew, Anne, Roj, and Kevz looked for a table where they could sit.
On their way to the second floor, Kevz saw a familiar figure seated at the corner of the store. It was Lemon, eating all by herself, which was unusual for her.
Kevz snapped a finger at her when they got close. “Why are you eating alone?”
She stared at him with her forehead creased before smiling awkwardly. But her smile quickly faded when she noticed he got company. “I got hungry, sorry,” then she continued eating.
Kevz looked at her, confused. Watching her, he noticed she suddenly hurried to eat. He wanted to ask her what was wrong, but Kip showed up with their food.
“Hey, cuz! I didn’t know you were here,” he greeted, and Lemon nodded at him.
“Yeah, and I’m done, too,” she responded, her mouth stuffed with a burger.
Kevz could tell she was acting weird, but he didn’t know why. She quickly emptied her drink and started cleaning up. Then she stood up to bid them farewell.
“You’re leaving?” Homme asked.
“Yeah, I’ll go ahead. Kale might be at the studio, and he’ll leave if he doesn’t see anyone there,” she told them in a hurry.
Feeling uneasy, Kevz followed her out. “Partner, are you okay?”
“Y-Yes!” she stuttered. “I’ll go ahead. I’ll see you guys at the studio.” She waved at him and jogged away.
Kevz could only shake his head as he couldn’t pinpoint why she was suddenly acting weird. When Kevz rejoined the group, he checked on Kippler, Roj, and Homme, but there was nothing unusual with them.
However, when he looked at Drew and Anne, he noticed they looked uneasy. They had been like that since they came out of the restroom.
‘Could it be because of them?’
