Everyone managed to attend Rawbin’s graduation party and despedida for the family. They even performed a song as part of the mini-program organized by Rawbin’s cousins.
Lemon also met his parents for the first and last time, and the ex-couple assured them everything was okay between them. They were still friends.
When Mr. and Mrs. Llamansares let go of Lemon so she could have dinner, she rejoined the group. Almost everyone comforted her. And that somehow made things easier for her.
After eating, Mrs. Llamansares called Lemon to the garden. She said Rawbin wanted to talk to Lemon, so she waited for him there.
“I have something for you,” he whispered. Rawbin sat beside her by the fountain, took out a velvet box from inside his suit, and opened it.
From there, he pulled out a white gold bracelet and showed it to Lemon. It was a charm bracelet with a music note, a basketball, and a letter R charm attached to it.
“I want you to wear this so you won’t forget about me,” pouting at what he said. After several deep breaths, he reached out of Lemon’s chin, “I know you won’t forget me, but still, I want you to fill this with happy memories.”
Lemon looked straight into his eyes. They still looked sad but were smiling too. She cupped his face to kiss him lightly on the cheek.
“Rawbin, you don’t have to remind me that. I want you to know that no matter what happens, I won’t forget you,” she whispered. Lemon sighed as she felt like crying over again.
“Even if someone else helps you add memories to it, whoever he is, I’d still be happy and thankful. Because he can do what I couldn’t,” a tear escaped Rawbin’s eye.
And as if his tears and hers were connected, her eyes started crying too. She inched closer to hug him, wishing he could stay, but that was too much to ask.
The couple continued with their final goodbye while someone continued to listen in. “Gotcha!” Kevz yelled. Startled, Drew quickly covered his mouth, afraid the couple would hear him.
He pulled Kevz away from where Lemon and Rawbin were and glared at him. ‘Why does this guy always show up at the wrong time?’
“Shut up, you asshole!” He snapped, uncovering his friend’s mouth. He lightly pulled his hair in annoyance and stopped the urge to strangle him.
Meanwhile, Kevz turned red as a tomato, trying his best not to laugh. “You should have seen your face, dude! You looked like you shat bricks!” and there goes the evil laughter.
“You idiot! Of course, I was surprised! Who wouldn’t with what you did?”
Kevz sighed to calm down and put on a straight face. “So why were you there? Why were you eavesdropping?” he managed to ask.
“I wasn’t eavesdropping, okay?” Drew snapped, but Kevz wasn’t convinced. “Fine! I didn’t mean to,” he confessed. “I was just walking around trying to get some air when I saw them, so I stood by the post. I swear I didn’t know I’ll hear them from where I’m standing. More so seeing them kiss and hug.”
Kevz nodded slowly, rubbing his chin, “So you didn’t just listen to them. You watched them too.”
“I told you, I didn’t do that on purpose!” Drew frustratedly insisted, but Kevz won’t buy his alibi. So, instead of trying to explain and tell him more, he just turned his back on him.
However, before he could take another step, Kevz grabbed his wrist. “Since you confessed what you just did, can you confess something else to me?” he asked. Drew’s brows arched, looking at his friend intently, with his hands on his waist. “I know you know out of anyone in the group, I am the one who can easily read you. Now, can you please confirm whether my hunch is right or wrong? You like Lemon, don’t you?” he finally asked.
Drew looked back at Kevz. He was serious with his question and was determined to get the answer. What he said was true as well. If anyone in the band knew him at all, it was Kevz. They have been friends since childhood.
Kevz and Drew’s parents were childhood friends, and so were their brothers. They grew up together and stayed connected even when Drew left for the States.
Frustrated, Drew sighed harshly. He knew he couldn’t escape his friend. And since that was the case, he nodded in admission.
“I knew it! I’m good, right? Are you impressed?” he stated smugly.
Shaking his head, Drew raised a hand to stop him. “Don’t go overboard. It was just a simple crush, okay? Crush!” He emphasized the word so Kevz wouldn’t make any other assumptions.
“Did I say anything? Drew Reagan, you’re being too defensive! You know that?” he tapped his shoulder and grinned. “So, what’s the game plan?”
“Game plan?”
“With Lemon! Rawbin’s leaving. She’ll be single soon. What’s your plan?”
“Bullshit! I got no plans. I’m too happy with my life to look for something that will cause me a headache.”
“Well, you have a point. Lemon got tons of admirers, and I’m sure you won’t be able to sit still. Props to Rawbin because he never got jealous of anyone. Maybe Lemon never gave him a reason to be jealous of anyone.”
Drew nodded just so the conversation would end. He was right, anyway. Even college students were interested in her.
Tons of guys at school tried to get her intention, but they couldn’t go all out since she was Llamansares’ girlfriend. But now that he was leaving, they would surely try their luck again.
Unfortunately, Drew was not good at that. He doesn’t do courtships. Drew was content that it was the girls who approached him. Besides, he sees her up close and spends every day with her. What more can he ask?
He doesn’t need to make things complicated for both of them. For sure, that was how it would all end, as soon as his cousins started making a move.
The last time he talked to Ysmael, he was determined to get even with Lemon’s family. And if she found out he was related to them, it would only cause trouble for them. It will only break them apart.
After a while, Kevz told him he was returning to the table, and Drew followed. When he saw Lemon, the first thing he did was check the bracelet Rawbin gave her.
‘Wouldn’t it be nice if I could fill it with memories? Happy memories between Leslie and me.’ Yet again, he felt weird at the thought. ‘Why am I even thinking about doing that myself? For sure, Rawbin will send her charms to add on there.’
Besides, if she gets into a relationship, her soon-to-be boyfriend will give her more for that. And with their current situation, Drew wasn’t even sure if she would accept anything from him.
When the party was over and the night ended, everyone went home. The band decided to take a break for a week after taking Rawbin and his family to the airport the following day.
