When the group returned to the studio, Kevz ran upstairs to the terrace. Since Lemon wasn’t in the living room, he knew she was there. It was her favorite spot, anyway.
Sitting on a garden chair with her earphones, Kevz walked up to her. He lightly tapped her shoulder, and she automatically smiled when she saw him.
“Finished eating?” she asked, standing up.
Kevz nodded, and Lemon turned on her back. But before she could take another step, he held onto her wrist. “Partner, is something wrong?”
She pouted, scrunched her nose, and shook her head. “I just got an upset stomach. I think I overate, so I rushed back,” she grinned sheepishly.
Laughing, Kevz placed an arm over her shoulders and was about to go down when Drew showed up. “They’re calling you downstairs. We’re about to start the meeting.”
Kevz felt Lemon’s shoulder tensed up. Once again, she was anxious. “Let’s go, Partner,” and even before Kevz could respond, she was already running downstairs.
Kevz was about to follow her when he heard Drew sigh heavily. “Dude, did something happen?”
Drew walked closer to Kevz and nodded hesitantly. He, too, looked tensed, and Kevz noticed that. “She saw us earlier,” he whispered.
Kevz furrowed his brows at him. ‘What does he mean she saw them? I’m seeing them too. It’s not like we’re blind!’
“She saw us making out inside the restroom,” Drew confessed.
“I see…” Kevz quickly responded. But when he realized what his friend just said, he went ballistic. “What? You and Anne?” And Drew nodded in confirmation, “Are you out of your mind? What did she see?”
“Well, she opened the door and saw Anne sitting on my lap with just her bra on,” he started narrating, but Kevz put up a hand before he continued. He doesn’t want to hear more than that.
“You’re really a stupid asshole!” Kevz spat before turning on his heels.
Kevz couldn’t believe he was such an idiot. Drew admitted he liked Lemon. So he couldn’t understand why he would still let her see him in such situations. ‘He’s just downright stupid!’
Kevz was aware that wasn’t the first time Lemon had seen Drew being sensual with someone. The incident that just happened was already the ninth.
Still pondering his friend’s trip, Kevz headed downstairs to join the group. After a while, Drew joined them too. He sat on the couch beside Anne while Kevz squeezed between Drew and Roj.
Homme was on the single couch with Lemon between his knees, sitting on the floor. Next to her sat his cousin, Kippler.
“Our classes will start again in four weeks,” Kip started. “That means we need to look for someone to replace Rawbin.”
“Let’s just host an audition again. Lemon can pick who she wants to sing with,” Roj suggested.
“What do you think, cuz?” Kip asked her.
She pouted her lips, thinking. Kevz liked it when she did that and knew it was not just him. Out of instinct, he looked at Drew.
Kevz caught him half-smiling while looking at the girl, so he nudged him. Drew blushed all of a sudden, causing Kevz to laugh. Everyone looked at him, but he could only give them a peace sign.
Turning back to Lemon, “That’s possible. Must he be as handsome as Rawbin?” she jest, and Homme messed up her hair.
“Leslie Monica, we’re looking for a vocalist to replace the old one, not a new boyfriend for you,” Kip scolded, chuckling.
The conversation about finding a new vocalist continued. And Kevz couldn’t help but notice the awkwardness between Drew and Lemon.
When someone talks, Lemon will look and pay full attention. But when it was Drew, she would just bow or look somewhere.
Kevz would giggle whenever Drew frowned at Lemon’s reaction to him. Kip even scolded him as he started distracting the meeting.
He never thought it was weird when two people hide their feelings from one another. It was just so awkward. And yes, even if Lemon doesn’t say it, Kevz knew she liked Drew too.
Meanwhile, Lemon was starting to get irritated. She knew Kevz was laughing at her. He has been watching her and would giggle at her reactions to Drew.
And Anne!
She suddenly remembered all the times she caught Drew doing something rated R. For Lemon, the worst among all those was the one at the bar.
When she saw him take his hand out of the girl’s dress, Lemon felt disgusted. It was Kevz who saw them that time, too.
Drew apologized to her after that incident. He waited for her outside the comfort room to explain and apologize for what she saw.
But then it happened again. Drew was still careless. He would still let Lemon see him in such vulgar situations. Then again, he doesn’t really have to be careful around Lemon.
After the meeting, Kip immediately left for home. He had to pick up Kellen at the salon, and Homme went with him.
The rest of the group stayed at the studio for thirty minutes more. After that, Drew bade them farewell. He had to take Anne home, and Roj left with them.
When it was just Lemon and Kevz, they headed to the veranda. They sat on the chair, listening to music. Then she noticed Kevz staring at her while smiling.
“Hey! Stop it! Have you gone crazy?” Lemon spat at him, but he just broke into laughter.
“I just find you and Drew funny. It’s awkward, isn’t it?” Kevz teased, so she pouted and rolled her eyes. “I know, Partner. Drew told me you saw them in the restroom earlier.”
Lemon’s eyes widened, and her jaws fell open. ‘Why does he have to tell Kevz? Is he that shameless?’ She shut her mouth and crossed her arms over her chest. “I didn’t mean for that to happen. It’s their fault for not locking the door.”
“Well, I didn’t say it’s your fault nor that you did that intentionally. But is that the reason why you’re avoiding Drew?”
She narrowed her eyes at him in disbelief that he was some sort of psychic. She heaved a sigh before starting to fiddle with her fingers.
“It was embarrassing. I always see Drew doing something like that,” she frowned.
“Tell me, Partner. I want an honest answer, okay? Do you like Drew?”
Lemon’s eyes flicked at him. ‘Is it that obvious?’ She stared at him when he shot his brows up, waiting for an answer. Although she was hesitant, she still nodded in confirmation.
“But I’m just crushing on him, okay?” She pointed at Kevz before leaning back. “He’s got beautiful eyes, plus he’s a good singer,” she continued.
Kevz nodded slowly, processing what she said. Lemon trusted he wouldn’t tell anyone. If he tells anyone, she will never show up to them again.
Lemon was not concerned when her crush learned she was crushing on them. But when it comes to Drew, she felt like she had to go outside the planet as soon as he found out.
After a while, Kevz’s phone started ringing. Lemon saw how he frowned when he answered it. “Partner, I have to go. My grandma arrived, and she’s looking for her handsome grandson.”
He was dead serious when he said that, but she couldn’t help but laugh. “Go! I’ll just wait for Kale here.”
“Are you sure?”
“Yep! Don’t worry about me. Lyra and Guido are here anyway.”
He then hugged and kissed her forehead before running to the gate. He hailed a cab, and in seconds, he was out of her sight.
