Xia Zhengyan was so infuriated that he burst out laughing. “Stupid Woman!”
The fate of the Xia’s Group was now in the hand of Luo Chejue. Their company would have been long gone if it were not for his mercy.
Xia Weiwei twitched her mouth when she heard Xia Mo had become Ms. Luo. She was about to leave there when she perceived that Xia Zhengyan was going to come out of the room.
“Xia Zhengyan! I’m telling you, I will abord your son if you don’t bid for that bracelet today!” Liang Hong felt triumphant when she saw Xia Zhengyan stop as expected. She was not afraid of his intimidating glare at all because she knew his Achilles heel. So, she continued boldly, “I know you despise me. In fact, I had known it twenty years ago when you used me to disgust your wife. I’m the mother of your child. Mo has also married into the Luo Family as planned. You better fall in mith my requests, or I will expose the truth about your wife’s death. And remember, the daughter of that woman had died. Mo and the unborn child in my belly are your only offspring left now.
A fit of ruthlessness quickly flashed across the eyes of Xia Zhengyan. “Are you threatening me? How dare you! It’s your good daughter who had killed Bai Yan! Let’s wait and see who will end well if you disclose what happened!”
Liang Hong shuddered abruptly when she realized that her decent life relied on Xia Zhengyan and Xia Mo. Xia Zhengyan had worked for decades and he must have some connections. It won’t do her any good to piss him off. She was going to say some nice words to him when Xia Zhengyan shouted, “Who’s there?”, and quickly pushed the door open.
No one was there.
Liang Hong walked towards him in haste and grumbled in a flirtish manner, “Rest assured. We are the only ones here. Besides, we’re abroad. What are you so afraid of? I was just joking. Shall we go home now?”
With a twitch between his eyebrows, Xia Zhengyan hoped that he was simply oversensitive.
When Xia Weiwei heard that her mother’s death was not an accident, she just drew a blank and accidentally made noise, which awakened her as well. She rushed forward recklessly and in the meantime, the conversation she had just overheard was replaying in her mind repeatedly, dragging her into meltdown mode.
Xia Mo wasn’t her biological sister! Xia Mo and their father killed her mother, Bai Yan! Why?
Everything became fuzzy in her sight. Feeling overwhelmed, she stopped running and squatted down slowly with her hands placed on her chest.
“Xia!” “Mommy!”
There came two voices in panic and anxiety. It seemed that Xia Weiwei accidentally went backstage when Rose and Shengsheng was coming out of a room. Xia Weiwei’s look startled them, making them worried that she just had a relapse.
Xia Weiwei looked up in a daze and at once tightly held Shengsheng in her arms. Her hands stopped trembling gradually.
“Mommy, don’t’ cry!”
Xia Weiwei reached out to touch her face and found out until then that her face was covered with tears but soon, she started to laugh. The abnormal expressions extremely worried Rose, so she immediately called Yan Shaoxuan.
Yan Shaoxuan left in the middle of a meeting and rushed over. Three of them were standing in the place where he had dropped them earlier. Xia Weiwei looked incredibly calm and composed.
Yan Shaoxuan was full of doubts but managed to resist the urge to ask. Four of them went to a restaurant for dinner and then returned to the villa. They threw a lively and joyful birthday party for Shengsheng and treated her classmates in the kindergarten. When all guests left, Yan Shaoxuan coaxed Shengsheng into going to bed before he came to the kitchen, where Xia Weiwei was washing plates meticulously.
Rose just told him what had happened and he knew Weiwei must have run into something, but her behavior were strangely normal.
All of a sudden, a plate slipped from her hand to the floor and splintered into pieces. Her body convulsed rapidly as if a pinched nerve fractured in one stroke. She freaked out, squatted down on the ground immediately, and curled herself up against a corner of the wall.
Yan Shaoxuan’s heart sunk in a flash.
