“Don’t worry she won’t be a problem.” Gemini hopped so as she didn’t want to make another enemy. The two walked around and Valentine showed her the places she needed to know.
“I just don’t get why people hate me so much.” They walked around the pack’s grounds.
“Your Layton’s wife, they have to hate you.”
“But I wasn’t the one who killed them, it doesn’t concern me but people hate me like it was my doing.” They sat by a fountain.
“As long as you are married then his problems and doing are yours too so his enemies are your enemies.” Gemini crossed her arms.
“Be strong if you really love him you will fight each battle.”
“I just don’t want to.” She whined.
“You still have to. I have seen the people he has been with and they are not all friendly. The same went to Lilith, she was forced to do things she never wanted to do.”
“What did she do?”
“She joined forces with her enemy, the enemy that took her people just to save her own life.” She sighed, she now accepted that they were heartless.
Gemini had much fun that she had not noticed the setting sun, the sunset that day was breathtaking. She accepted that she had never had such fun since her marriage to Layton. She lay on her bed hoping for a better tomorrow. A knock came on the door, Gemini sat up straight and fixed herself.
“Ma’am, Valentine has sent for you.” Gemini wasted no time and ran downstairs to the living room. She froze once she saw a similar figure next to Valentine. Her heart thud in her chest.
“Hope you didn’t miss me so much.” She smiled and embraced her husband.
“You miss me that you came to visit.”
“No. I came here to examine and not to visit.” Gemini wasn’t surprised by his response.
“I’ll leave the two of you to talk.” Valentine excused himself.
“How has the night been?” Gemini felt the urge to tell him of Lilith but she didn’t want to cause a feud however she did remember the fun time she had.
“Fun. I did quite a lot of things and I now have a job.” Layton thought.
“Is it okay for you to work?” Gemini nodded.
“I honestly miss you.” The alpha smiled at her words.
“I missed you too.” They shared a quick kiss and made their way out.
She and Layton had lived in Valentine’s pack for some weeks but another month had dropped in and another blood moon even was near. Unfortunately, Layton had to leave before it occurred leaving Gemini with Valentine and his wives again. Lilith was not of much help on her return, she had left to visit her guardian before Layton’s arrival. Gemini walked to Valentine.
“I heard you do not like this event?” Gemini accepted but she didn’t want to hide that time. She felt her stomach hoping for the best for her and her child.
“I despise it but I can’t hide forever either if I like it or not I will face this someday.” Valentine was impressed with her answer so he prepared a seat with the girl. He did feel weak that night and the thought of the moon made it worse.
“What kind are you?” Valentine asked in a weak voice.
“What do you mean?”
“Hype? Some lose control and sense, others turn wild, savage and the lucky ones just lose strength.” Gemini wasn’t sure, the last time that had happened she felt the same.
“Not sure but why does this happen? Is it every month?”
“It’s almost unpredictable you see only the unique can detect the approach of the moon.” The doors swung open and a guard walked in.
“They are secured sir and everything has been taken care of.” The guard sharply said.
The moon later shone above them and each took their form so did Gemini.
Time had passed and Gemini still stayed with the pack. However, she still didn’t get along with the people from the pack and she hated it. She didn’t feel welcomed at all and later found herself getting homesick. She met up with Valentine who by that time was her only friend.
“Had a good night?” Valentine asked.
“I guess. You’re the only one I talk to anyway.”
“The others are kind too you know. You would have been great friends with my wife if you two got along.” They walked for a good distance.
“I was better off back home.” Gemini meant the Enduro pack, it was true she was used to the environment there.
“You don’t like it here?” Valentine asked worried, he did think she enjoyed it there.
“I do, I have real fun here but I just miss the people I know. I know no one except you of course.”
“Don’t worry I’ll find someone to accompany you.” Gemini nodded. Valentine snapped.
“Have you already met Evan? Layton sent him here for you.”
“Yeah, I did a while ago.” There was a sudden silence between them.
“You knew Layton’s mother?” The thought of it came to her mind. Valentine was however surprised she had asked such a question.
“Yeah well mostly. Why?” Gemini pushed her hair behind her ear.
“What was she like?” He paused.
“I was told not to talk about his past. Am sorry.”
