The car parked on the parking spot and Gemini could feel Layton’s anger, she was surprised she could feel his presence from a distance but it was also quite understandable. She went through the doors and to where her husband was.
“Why won’t you listen to me?!! Don’t you see it’s for your own protection!!” Layton was completely irritated by her behavior. Strider walked in.
“Not much had happened, sir.”
“What did?” Antony eyed Gemini then back to his leader.
“Looks like we are a target. People are suspecting and blaming us they say we are responsible for the girl’s death.” Layton knew such things would happen.
“Am still working on it. Nothing else?” Antony shook his head.
“Apart from them attacking Gemini nothing else happened.” Layton clenched his fists, he did like the fact that Gemini was insulted.
“And what did you do.” This time he asked Gemini and all she did was lower her head.
“I didn’t do anything.” She could feel the intense anger coming from him and it scared her.
“So you would let simple humans insult and threaten you!! An alpha getting insulted!!” Strider found it quite ridiculous too but this time he felt the urge to defend her.
“Even though she could charge, there were a good number of people.” Layton turned sharply at Antony.
“I gave you no permission to speak!! Shut it!!” Strider furrowed his brows, Layton had never said such words to him before so he bowed and left.
“There are a lot of things going on Gem and I don’t need you causing more problems!” His tone was still sharp.
“I am sorry, nothing else happened.”
“It doesn’t mean nothing will happen, I say these things for a reason.” Layton left the girl speechless. She took herself to her room where she took her rest.
Layton made his way to the large clear ground and took his training. He threw a few heavy punches on the tree trunk in front of him.
“I apologize for everything I had done.” Layton punched it more making his fingers bleed. Antony always knew Layton was a fan of pain so he was not surprised with what he saw.
“I don’t need you disrespecting me!! If you back her up she will not realize her mistakes!!”
“I do apologize for it, you know best.” Layton still did not accept Strider’s apology in fact he took it as an insult. He did mate Strider’s sarcasm.
“I don’t want you spoiling my morning so I dearly command you to leave!” Strider sighed and left his presence. After a while of training, Hunter ran by.
“Sir I know this isn’t the beat time but another body was found.” Layton hesitated then growled. He was now sure they weren’t safe.
“Where?”
“Not far from here though. What do we do now.” Layton wasn’t quite sure himself.
Police tapes were covered around the area and people were forced to leave the area. Francis being uninvited walked to the crime scene and examined the body. He did notice killing methods were the same as the last body. Eugene walked to him.
“You think they were the same people?” Francis nodded then wrote some short notes on his little notebook.
“Look carefully at the markings aren’t they the same.” Eugene stared at the scars and realized the resemblance.
“Your right they are similar.” Just then a policeman walked by.
“May I ask who had sent for you?” Francis ignored the officer and walked even closer to the body while Eugene argues with the police. Francis squat and felt the body with his gloved hands.
“Sir the others say we should leave.” Francis took a piece of flesh from the scared flesh and placed it in a little plastic bag.
“Then we will be in our way. Take a picture.” Eugene nodded and did as he was told. They made their way to their personal lab where their experiments were done. Eugene threw his body on the couch.
“So what will we do? This is the second time.” Francis looked through the telescope trying to find at least something or a clue.
“Even if they were real how could we kill them?” Francis paid no attention to his partner’s questions.
Layton sat on his desk as he studied the papers on the table when Gemini walked in. She wanted to at least apologize for her wrongdoings.
“I am really sorry Lay please do not be angry at me.” Layton sighed then shook his head.
“It’s alright mistakes happen and I hope one day you learn from them.” She sat on his bed.
” What are you doing anyway?”
“Finding a way to bend their thoughts and accusations.”
“Why do you or we fear them so much? I mean we are stronger than them.” Layton turned his chair to her and smiled.
“We are stronger but we are not immune. You see humans are the most dangerous and savage beings on earth, they are selfish and crave power over species.” He sat next to her and handed her one of the papers.
“They say we weren’t fans of hiding and once the humans knew of our existence they attacked but we did manage to take power over them and they respected us.” Layton paused.
“You see we are not gods we all have weaknesses and they found it, a weapon that tears your muscles and shuts down your whole system even healing would make it worse. The weapon acts as a disease on its own infecting the whole body.” Gemini gasped and she thought she had no weakness.
