“I know but I need this, if he won’t let me work on this then I will have to do it in secret. You can send some men back but some should stay.” He nodded and did just as Francis said.
Back at Layton, he headed to Gemini’s room in order to tell her of their move.
“Is everything okay?” Layton assured her that nothing was wrong but he seemed a little bothered.
“Yes, I just came here to tell you wells be leaving.”
“Why? Is everything alright?”
“Nothing happened but I fear it won’t be safe here and we can’t have the police studying us under the blood moon.” It was the first time Gemini had heard of the blood moon.
“When will it be?”
“a few days from now. Three is what I know.” Gemini nodded.
“Where exactly are we going?”
“The same place I took you from.” Gemini’s jaw dropped, she had never thought she would have that chance of going home and it stressed her heavily. Her mother was furious with her and she wasn’t sure if her friends would accept her. What was in her mind was her mother.
“Why would you think of going there?” Gemini snapped back to reality.
“It’s the safest place I know besides it would be better off than this place.” Gemini didn’t really want to visit her hometown after all that had happened and she would be the main subject in people’s conversation.
“Many people know me there then why should we go there.”
“I know they do but as I said it is the safest place I know so if you feel you may get insulted then you will have to stand up for yourself. Gemini hoped she wouldn’t run into someone she knew.
“We will start leaving tomorrow so you better get prepared and once we get there you should not go anywhere without my permission,” Layton warned before walking off. She reached out to her stuff and packed them in her bags as she did that she felt the panic grow fast. She tried to see the bright side of the sudden shift but couldn’t.
The sun rose and Gemini was woken early in the morning to begin their journey. Only half of the pack’s members were traveling with them. She was able to pack her luggage but not too much since they would return, she had her bags packed in the car while she got dressed with Layton.
“We should be off now, there’s no telling how long we will get there.” Gemini nodded and quickly dressed up then headed to the car with Layton. They were soon all on the road.
“Where are we going to stay?” The girl asked hoping it wouldn’t be close to her mother.
“Someplace, you’ll see it once we get there.” She still wanted to know where they were going to leave. Hours passed and they reached the city, it was as beautiful as Gemini remembered it. They drove to a fairly large piece of land that had multiple houses. They got down and went in.
“When will we go back?” She asked her husband as she unpacked.
“After some days but we won’t be here for that long.” There was a little silence.
“I heard there was a problem?” Layton saw bi use in hiding the information.
“The police are watching us more and well we haven’t found our enemy so we couldn’t risk it.” Gemini was for once happy with his honesty. They all finished unpacking.
“Will you mind if I go anywhere?” She asked Layton who watched his phone.
“I won’t unless you GI with someone.” Gemini thought of visiting her mother later on but didn’t want anyone accompanying her. They spent most of their time in the house and less time outside however it was getting dark and Layton was called for some assistance, Gemini taking it as an opportunity took his car key and she was able to slip past Strider and Layton’s watch. She also convinced the driver and the driver had no choice but to take her.
“So who are you visiting?” The driver asked.
“An old friend.” The driver took her instructions and dropped her at her mother’s house.
“I won’t belong.”
“Are you sure Layton was okay with this, I just don’t want to get in trouble?” The driver shivered.
“Of course he is, if he wasn’t he wouldn’t have given me his keys or let alone let me leave on my own.” The driver believed her. She got down and ran into the compound. She knocked on the large front wooden door, moments passed and the door finally swung wide open. Her mother stared at her daughter with shock.
“Hey mom, I thought I would come to visit can I come in?” Her mother stood aside giving the girl some space to walk in. They both sat on distance chairs.
“Why are you here? Aren’t you suppose to be in some other country?” Her mother hissed.
“I thought of visiting you, it has been really long since I saw you. ” Gemini expected her mother to be more excited to see her.
“So after choosing that devil of yours you thought it was best to visit me!!” Gemini was not in the mood for arguments.
“Look mom I love him and you or anyone else can change that!! Why can’t you just listen and support me.” Gemini wasn’t going to cry as she usually did, she was filled with anger and disappointment.
