“Make sure no one hears of this or it will be of no use.” They nodded. Before Dakota could take her to leave Layton stopped her.
“A number of people should remain while the rest are moving.” Whispers filled the table and Strider took his turn.
“Gresall would be better sir. The location is far from the police reach and no other pack would bother us.” Layton accepted Strider’s suggestion and put it to use.
“I feared the police might be an even bigger threat than the rest and we cannot risk it.” The rest did see it brilliant. “Just not to raise even more suspicion, the rest will remain and look after the remains.”
“But sir the blood moon.” A voice spoke up and as humans would call it a full moon but it was quite different for werewolves and moving benefited both ways.
“We will move before it and keep track, it would be even dangerous if we stayed here during that moment.” They all had to agree since it was risky.
“I will arrange transport for an equal number of people.” Layton was pleased to hear of it. He turned to the second defense group.
“Anything you need to tell me?” Strider stood up.
“I have been guiding them on what to do and it appears that all is not going well.” Layton’s frustration rose a little. He didn’t like it when Strider did things without his permission. Luckily Strider was close to the alpha.
“I told you never to do things without my permission!! Is it hard to keep instructions!!” Layton whispered to Strider saving him the shame but Strider also thought it was his power to help out.
“I had to help out since you had some issues with Gemini.” Layton didn’t buy the excuse
“That is not an excuse Strider so next time inform me!! This is the last time I am telling you this!!” Strider sighed, he never knew Layton was such a stubborn person. He had always wanted to do things on his own which didn’t please Strider.
“Sir I am your right arm meaning it is also my duty to assist you.” Layton hissed.
“As I said inform me, it was kind of you but I do not your assistance.” Those words did hurt Strider but he learner to take it in. Layton stared at the group.
“What are the results?”
“The pack to the south as the results where aren’t there anymore.” Layton did instruct them to double check but the third time was Strider. Jones ruled the southern area and it was important for Layton to track him.
“What do you think we should do sir.” Another man from the group asked.
“I would have to think of it but make sure you are all careful with what you do and make sure no one crosses our boundaries.” Layton made his way out of the meeting when Dakota caught up with him.
“Sir I do not mean to disturb but I wish to extend my search, the male I had caught the last time liked wandering through the forests.”
“We cannot risk it Dakota so stick to your boundary or you will start something you cannot finish.” The alpha walked away making her speechless. She knew Layton had changed greatly and it worried her.
Francis on the side worked his way through his hypothesis. He had all the authority he needed to take his investigation. He worked in his private lab and took his time. He ran through the blood sample he got from the hospital but yet he would find anything. Eugene walked in.
“What is it?” Francis got a little annoyed.
“Sir they have been watching them for a while but nothing is going on. Maybe we should call the watch off.” His partner suggested but Francis wasn’t going to back down.
“I have waited for this moment and I cannot let it go.” Eugene sighed.
“I didn’t want to tell you this but the boss is pretty upset, I was on the phone with him and he told me you should call it off.” Francis cared less of it and carried on just in the middle of their conversation Eugene’s phone rang, he took a look at the number then stared back at Francis.
“It’s him.” Francis felt even more annoyed then signaled him to answer the call.
“Yes, sir can I help?”
“I want you to call it all off!! This is a waste of time and resources!!” His boss’s fierce voice could be heard.
“Sir I can conclude this just give me more time.” The poor man pleaded but his boss was not going to accept any child’s play.
“This isn’t some movie where there are princesses or werewolves this is real and if you don’t call this off you are going to lose your job!!” Francis knew something had to be done in order to finish his investigation. The call ended and his partner held his breath.
“What will you do now?” Francis looked over to his partner.
“Do you believe me?” Eugene thought for a while and accepted that his thoughts were beyond belief.
“I know you are filled with imagination but I know you wouldn’t go to such lengths for nothing so yes I do believe you.” Francis smiled.
“Then that’s all I need so don’t call them off yet.”
“What are you going to do? If boss hears about this he will be furious with you.” Francis was aware of that but he wasn’t going to let it go to waste.
