“I remember receiving this photo with a missing person file. Your mother said you went missing just after your birthday party where am guessing you ran off with Mr. Vetteriano.” She regretted not telling her mother.
“And you had never met him before but yet you agreed to marry him. Now that’s inhuman.” The temperature dropped even more making it hard to stand.
“There is absolutely nothing strange going on, I admit I thought the impossible but it doesn’t make it a crime.” He nodded once again.
“Unfortunately something is going on and it’s not something to do with your married life but the reason behind the marriage.” Gemini got confused, she eliminated the thought of him knowing their existence.
“What exactly?” He shrugged.
“I was hoping you would tell me.” There was silence and the man grew impatient with her. He threw his fist on the table.
“Look I have had a long day alright!! And your not making this any better so just tell me the damn truth!!” Gemini was surprised by his sudden change of mood that it frightened her heavily. Being her quite fragile self the girl started to cry.
“I have nothing to tell you…. please.” The officer sighed his profession wasn’t to make women cry but his impatience was getting the best of him.
“It’s fine for today, I’ll let you go for now but I will be seeing you.” The girl nodded feeling a little embarrassed.
Layton on the other side of the room waited, hearing all of the crying and shouting which greatly irritated him. He was only able to hear the littlest sounds possible and was eager to know what was happening. The door swung open.
“Well it looks like you got a free ticket home, your wife was a load and I couldn’t have a crying girl ruin our reputation but it doesn’t mean you won’t be looked at.” Layton felt like charging but he had to control his anger. The policeman took the cuffs off the alpha before Layton could make his way out the man stopped him.
“Your friend won’t be my problem so you better do something before I damp him off.” Layton knew he was talking about Strider.
“I’ll take responsibility for him.” He nodded and Layton made his way out to Gemini where they hugged.
“Are you okay?” Gemini nodded.
“I’ll have to call someone to take you home.”
“What aren’t you coming?” He shook his head taking his phone out.
“I have to take responsibility for Strider’s injuries. I’ll call Arlene to come to pick you up so you don’t have to worry.” Layton dialed Arlene’s number and instructed her to pick her up.
“She’ll be here any minute so don’t go anywhere else I’ll be back.” She nodded then waited by the bench outside.
Layton made her way to the car and drove to the hospital the man said. He went to the secretary and she guided him to Striders room. He did feel a little guilty for what he had done.
“Hey,” Layton said which sounded like a whisper however Strider didn’t respond.
“You know it wasn’t right for you to insult Gemini like that and I just needed you to respect her as you do to me.” Strider didn’t expect an apology from Layton since he was hard-hearted.
“I know I was wrong and I apologize but I didn’t need you visiting me since it was my fault.” Strider tried not to start an argument again so he was careful with his words.
“You’re not pleased with this and I understand but she is my wife and I will defend her even from my closest allies.” There was silence for a while.
“We have to avoid the police’s attention. The police might have some suspicion towards us and we have to suspend that.” Layton whispered.
“Then what do you want me to do?”
“Well after your recovery I still need you to look after Gemini and I do expect you to.” Strider had no choice but to accept.
Francis the police in charge showed up in the hospital with a couple of soldiers. He walked to the doctor just to get some information.
“I am not supposed to be sharing patients’ private information with others.” The doctor in charge of Striders cares strictly said.
“He is under my eye sir and also my investigation so please if you don’t want dead bodies filling up your hospital you will tell me what I need to know.” It was difficult to hide such information knowing other lives would be at stake.
“Alright but please do not get me involved.” Francis nodded and promised to keep his promise. The doctor took out files of Strider’s recovery the officer was able to read them in minutes.
“Looks like it’s all going well.” The doctor nodded.
“He is quite a fast healer I would say and to the surprise if he didn’t need excess medicine.” Francis felt all his prayers were answered, it would be much easier.
“What about blood type?”
“He’s a universal donor.” Francis thought gr knew he had to run more tests in order to reach his conclusion.
“I want a blood sample.” The doctor hesitated, it was out of order to give someone else’s blood without their knowledge.
“That is over my boundaries sir.”
