The van finally approached the station sending shivers down Gemini’s spine, she never thought in a million times that she would go to a police station or yet get in trouble with the police. They got down and were shown two different rooms. Gemini took her seat in a cold and empty room with only two chairs and a large table the same went to Layton.
The officer in charge went to his personal desk and took some papers out of the drawer. He searched and read the papers, he had always believed in supernatural beings but however, his co-workers would laugh and make fun of his ideas. A long painful memory came to his head.
“So what your trying to tell me is that there is some freak of nature roaming our streets.” The young officer nodded.
“Just image this sir, this actually solves all the problems.” He pointed at a certain picture.
“What did you say they are? Shapeshifting wolves?” His boss laughed in his face making him extremely upset.
“They are wolves that take the form of humans, sir.” His boss got annoyed with his childish games.
“Leave my office and stop with your nonsense.” The young officer took his papers and stormed out.”
He still remembered and swore to prove all who insulted him wrong. There was a knock on the door.
“Come in.” His partner came in.
“They are waiting for you sir but was this necessary?” He nodded, he did believe it was worth it as he hoped he had caught his suspect and ticket for respect.
“Alright, I’ll be there in a minute.” His partner nodded then headed out.
The officer first visited Layton before going to the girl. Layton looked up at the officer.
“You must be Mr. Vetteriano .” The officer took out multiple files.
“I haven’t done anything wrong have I.” Layton rolled his eyes.
“Other than crossing a restricted area then yes you have done something deeply wrong.” Layton sighed. He never thought he would be in a situation like this and he didn’t know how Gemini was doing. He wasn’t much worried since their rooms were very close.
“What does she have to do with this? It’s my fault she crossed the area.” The officer nodded but he wasn’t going to miss a chance like this, he wasn’t sure if the girl was pure human or not.
“True but she still crossed either way.” He said. “Am going to have to ask you questions.” Layton laid his head on his arms.
“Go on.”
“Where are your parents.”
“They are dead.” Layton quickly said.
“Oh, how did they pass?” Layton got a little annoyed.
“Natural causes I guess.” He shrugged. Still, the officer was not convinced.
“If you are going to arrest me then do it, I don’t see any use of these questions.” He laughed.
“I would have but I need information first, I apologize but these are rules.” There was a certain silence.
Gemini sat hesitantly on her chair hearing the footsteps echo from the corridor. The door swung open and the officer came in smiling then took his seat.
” And you must be Mrs. Vetteriano right?” The girl shyly nodded.
“Was your mother alright with you moving away, I mean I know most parents and they wouldn’t allow such?” Gemini hesitated again, she wanted Layton to be with her at that moment and he was right, her mother would never allow her to go off without her.
“I wouldn’t say she was alright with it but I married him anyway and that’s all that mattered.” The officer saw it as an opportunity to flood her with questions.
“You two met on the same day and decided to live together.” Gemini gulped hard, she knew Layton wouldn’t want her talking about their secrets so she had to be careful with what she said.
“And how old are you exactly?” Gemini knew she was safe since she was old enough to at least get married.
“Am eighteen.” She spoke up.
“It’s very odd even for me I have to admit.” She knew what the officer meant and she accepted.
“You know you are free to tell me anything, your so-called husband isn’t here.” He said in a low tone which was promising.
“If you were in some type of forced marriage then I will understand.” Gemini shook her head knowing how she now loved Layton.
“It’s just that we fell in love quickly.” The girl lied trying to sound normal.
“But it is still weird, marriage is yet a whole different thing and from the way, people had addressed you it is as I said odd.”
“The thing is that I love him and we’re married strange or not.” The man thought. It was not only about their marriage he was interested in but her identity. He decided to add a little pressure.
“You know I have met girls like you who get paid to act.” Gemini felt insulted.
“I am not a prostitute!!” Gemini broke.
“How do I know you’re telling the truth? From the looks of it, it seems your not telling me your part of the story.” Gemini closed her eyes, she still didn’t understand why he was interested in their marriage.
“What do you want from me?” Gemini said in a weak voice. The man took out a photo of herself taken some time ago.
