“You think it will work?” Jennifer nodded.
“How do you think I and Robert met,” Jennifer assured Gemini that it would work and Gemini agreed.
They spent most of the day talking and Strider had to wait and he didn’t enjoy it. After their goodbyes, They went shopping and later went back home. Gemini dismissed the chef and she looked up a cookbook from the internet and was able to cook. After some time she was done with the dish and waited for Layton to appear just as she thought Layton walked through the front door with his briefcase in his right hand and flowers on the left, Gemini felt flattered as he handed the flowers to her.
“Wow, these are beautiful, how unusual of you to buy me flowers.” She smelt the flowers.
“Was I wrong to? I was passing by a flower shop and thought of getting you some.” He added walking up the stairs.
“Hey, where you going dinners ready.” Layton turned and pointed at his suit.
“Have to change am a sweaty mess.” He went up the stairs and straight to the shower while Gemini waited. Layton later showed up and took his seat on the table.
“Finally.” Gemini rolled her eyes and served him the dish, she watched carefully as he ate.
“Wow, this is amazing.” Layton complimented and Gemini smiled widely.
“Thank you, I made it myself.” She walked over and took his plate.
“It’s better than last time.” He got up and kissed her softly on the cheek.
“What was wrong with last time? If you didn’t like it why didn’t you say anything.” She crossed her arms.
“I meant to say that you’ve improved this time and it’s not like I didn’t like last time’s dish.” He explained. Gemini took the plates and went over to the kitchen where she began washing the plates when Layton stood behind her holding her waist.
“Why are you doing the dishes, you know we have the workers.” His mate turned around and laid her arms over his shoulders.
“I know but I told them to go, I just wanted to show you I could be useful and a good wife.” Layton smiled and kissed her on the forehead.
“I never said you weren’t useful and you would obviously make a perfect wife.”
“The rest of the pack thinks am useless. They think am weak and clumsy.” Layton denied.
“Your not weak Gem you survived an attack and anyone who’s faced death is not weak. You being here now shows that you’re stronger than you think.” Gemini raised a brow then smiled.
“My father told me that.” Gemini smiled even more.
“Your father sounds like a really nice guy.” The girl praised but Layton frowned.
“Was a nice guy, he trusted people too much and it killed him that’s why I don’t really trust people. Even the ones closest to you can kill you.” The alpha remembered his past and remembered just how his father died.
“But you have to trust someone at least.” She paused. “Don’t you trust me?” Layton nodded.
“I do even more and I don’t even know why.” He leaned closer to her and their lips touched sending shivers down Gemini’s spine. She received the kiss and curled his wet hair with her fingers, Layton felt his hands wander around Gemini’s body and immediately pulled away from the kiss. He knew where this was going and wanted to prevent it.
“What’s wrong? It’s my breath isn’t it, gosh am sorry.” Layton stepped a few steps away from her.
“it’s not that, we just can’t yet,” Gemini whined.
“Is it about me getting pregnant issue or the marriage thing?”
“Both.” Layton lied. He had no actual problem if she got pregnant and he also didn’t mind if they were married or not after all they will get married.
“Alright, it’s useless arguing with you anyway.” The girl made her way to her room, she wasn’t yet fine with the dishes but the little conversation they had made her lazy. Layton sighed after he saw how she reacted and he also made his way to his.
Sometimes passed and Gemini found herself loving her life with Layton, she never imagined herself ever-loving Layton as she always feared him. Gemini stayed in her room cleaning up. She went through all the items Layton had bought for her and remembered the times they had spent together. Her phone rang loud and she picked it up only to see Jennifer’s number.
“Hey what’s up,” Gemini asked as she placed her items in a box.
“Just asking if your busy today.” Gemini thought to herself and looked at her schedule.
“Am not really sure but I might be free,” Gemini suggested but she wanted to spend a lot of time with Layton since he is always at work.
“If you’ll be free we should meet I have a lot to tell you.”
“Okay, we’ll meet.” The phone ended and Gemini finished packing. On the other hand, Layton walked with Strider.
“What time is it all going to start,” Layton asked Strider who was walking beside him.
“In the afternoon, I guess.” Layton stopped.
“Do you think Gemini would be comfortable with this?” He asked knowing Gemini’s sensitive side and Strider rolled his eyes hating Layton’s exaggerated love for her.
“Am pretty sure after all she has no other choice.” Layton nodded knowing the beta was right she had to know this stuff.
