“I don’t know but I think you do and not him but her.” Layton had known Strider for so long and he knew Strider loved talking in riddles. To the alpha, he understood that Strider was meaning someone who had a good relationship with him in the past was planning something.
“I need you to be by Gemini’s side and make sure she doesn’t go anywhere without you.” Strider nodded then disappeared.
Gemini was in the living room watching some TV when Strider walked in.
“Looks like I’ll be your bodyguard for now on.” He said blocking her view of the TV which annoyed the girl. She knew Strider didn’t like her but she still tried to befriend him so she smiled.
“I don’t need one thank you.” She leaned on her arm.
“Of course you do unfortunately you can’t protect yourself.” He rolled his eyes then sat beside her just when Gemini received a phone call.
“Hello?” She heard the noise on the other side of the call.
“Hello, Gemini it’s me, Jennifer.” The girl smiled when she heard Jennifer’s voice.
“Oh hey, I never thought you would call and how did you get my number?” Jennifer let out a little laugh.
“You must have been really drunk, you gave me and told me to call you.” Gemini couldn’t help but giggle. Strider leaned in to hear the conversation.
“Who are you talking to?” He yelled making Gemini feel more annoyed.
“I was wondering if we could meet tomorrow.” Jennifer pleaded and Gemini couldn’t deny, she really wanted to leave the area and interact with a human.
“Of courses why not.” Jennifer thanked then ended the call.
“I asked you who were you talking to.” Strider backed off.
“It was Jennifer, Robert’s wife.” Strider thought then nodded.
“If you’re going to visit her then it is a no.” She frowned.
“Why not, she’s my friend.”
“True but Layton said I can’t allow you to go by yourself.” Gemini stood up and crossed her arms.
“First am going to go either he likes it or not and second I’ll go alone.” Strider also stood up.
“If your going I’ll come with you, don’t forget am your bodyguard so where ever you go I have to follow.”
“I said I don’t want a bodyguard I can take care of myself.” Gemini looked away feeling irritated.
“Just like you did at Jennifer’s wedding? Or the way you fought Andrea.” Gemini eyed Strider feeling a little embarrassed.
“I was drunk and I didn’t know who she was how could you expect me to fight someone I don’t know.” The beta sighed.
“Am just following orders here, it’s not like I love looking after people and you know I can’t deny.” Gemini understood but she still didn’t like the fact that Strider would be monitoring her every move.
“Alright.”
Some time passed and after dinner, Layton made his way to his room so did Gemini, she didn’t feel like visiting or sleeping in Layton’s room that day.
The next day Gemini visited Jennifer at some restaurant with Strider.
“Oh hey…” Jennifer paused when she saw Strider.
“Jennifer this is Strider, he’ll be accompanying us, unfortunately. ” Jennifer nodded feeling a little uncomfortable. The two girls sat on one table while Strider sat a distance away from them
“Does he follow you around?” Jennifer whispered.
“Yeah, he’s my new bodyguard. ” Jennifer smiled.
“He’s cute,” Jennifer whispered then giggled and Gemini was shocked.
“Why did you call me here,” Gemini said changing the subject.
“I just wanted to chat, It’s boring at home and Robert won’t let me leave without his permission.” Gemini sighed knowing her pain.
“Overprotective huh.” Gemini sipped on her drink and Jennifer nodded.
“I’ve been worried though, he goes out often and comes back smelling like alcohol. I think he might be cheating on me.” Gemini laughed.
“How? You guys just got married. You’re just overreacting.” Jennifer nodded suspending the negative thoughts in her head.
“What about you?”
“Everything is still fine, Even though Layton’s not usually home too.” Jennifer’s life was so similar to Gemini and it made them understand each other more.
“So I heard you and Layton aren’t married yet, why?”
“Just waiting for the time I guess.” Jennifer understood that it was important for them to know each other first but it was different for her since she and Robert got married almost instantly.
“Am just worried cause he and I haven’t had any physical contact yet.” Gemini sighed and Jennifer gasped.
“That’s not pretty, that’s a bog problem. Everyone knows if there’s no physical contact then there’s no love.” Gemini never wanted to accept that fact but she did.
“I know but he denies it.” Jennifer gasped more.
“You have to do something about it before he losses interest in you.” Gemini didn’t want that at all and she was so desperate to prevent it.
“What am I going to do?” She asked the married girl.
“They say a way to a man’s heart is his through his stomach so cook something really good and after seduce him.” Gemini thought, as ridiculous as it sounded she had to try but she wasn’t that much of a good cook.
