“You can’t always protect me Layton and am a member of this pack so I don’t see any reason why you should keep things from me.” Layton sighed heavily he knew she was right.
“Your right. I promise that I will never lie to you.” She smiled widely and laid back on his chest and went into a deep sleep but Layton wasn’t sure if he could keep the promise he made.
Strider made his way through a builders store since Layton sent him there, he went through the aisles when he bumped into a familiar figure.
“It’s been long Strider don’t you miss me?” Andrea stood in front of him wearing one of the dresses Layton had bought.
“Andrea it has been long, just heard you went to pay Gemini a visit.” She smiled revealing her white sharp teeth.
“Yeah but it wasn’t a warm welcome and goodbye either honestly her confidence annoys me.” Strider laughed.
“What can I say she’s turning into him, I guess his behavior is rubbing off on her.” Andrea felt the leather on the Striders jacket then smiled again.
“I thought scaring her away would be easy, guess I’d just have to get rid of her.” Strider chuckled. He did have a good friendship with Andrea and her strength impressed him while for Gemini he thought she nothing but a distraction.
“I always liked your fearlessness and strength and I have to admit you did make a wonderful leader. You and Layton could have been invincible but you had to stab him in the back, now tell me why?” She sighed.
“The hate surpassed the love Strider, he thought I was some puppet of his, treated me like dirt and he called that love.” Andrea laughed and thought about Gemini.
“I just don’t know what she has that I don’t, I was trained to be an alpha just like everyone else but he said I brought nothing to the table. Tell me Strider what does she bring that I couldn’t.” Strider shrugged.
“She’s pretty useless the way I see it but Layton’s in love with her, why? I don’t know either.” Strider sighed heavily.
“His growing soft and he can’t concentrate, he’s befriending humans, he’s less strict and he’s stopped giving commands all cause of a single girl.” Strider hated it even more if this doesn’t change their enemies will be closing in.
“If the other packs hear about this she’ll be a good target, you see Strider I didn’t bring anything at the table but am glad I didn’t and won’t take anything away from it.” Andrea left and Strider thought to himself he knew that the alpha’s love for this girl will be the downfall for everyone.
Layton woke up in the morning and Gemini wasn’t by his side. The bathroom door opened wide and Gemini walked in with nothing but her towel.
“Oh, your wake.” She said walking to her closet and pulling out her clothes. Layton watched carefully feeling a little annoyed he knew she was doing it all on purpose.
“Why are you doing this?” She turned to him then raised a brow.
“Am not doing anything.” She took the towel off exposing more of her smooth skin and Layton couldn’t help but look away stopping himself from being tempted.
“Why can’t you just change in the bathroom.” He said trying not to look. He still felt that it wasn’t the perfect time for them to mate, he wanted them to have an even deeper connection just so his relationship should not end up like that of his ex but it was hard for him to resist.
“This is my room so I have the right.” She said standing in front of him.
“Could you at least put some clothes on?” He covered his eyes and Gemini couldn’t help but giggle.
“Alright alright, I’ll put some clothes on.” She walked back to her closet and wore her clothes.
“You can look now.” Layton turned to her and smiled.
“As I said we can’t Gem you have to understand.” She walked towards him then laid her hands on her hips.
“For what reason anyway, geez could you stop overreacting. I don’t go out am always here so how are they going to kidnap me.” Layton stood up and eyed her.
“Am going to get a shower.” He walked out of her room and into his room. Gemini got irritated with Layton’s actions it was embarrassing for her, she got used to the fact that a girl usually rejects the guy when it came to sex. After a long shower Layton finally came out, he made his way to the kitchen where he had his breakfast.
“Where were you?” Layton asked Strider as he walked towards him.
“I ran into an old friend. I was able to get some of the materials you asked for.” Layton stared sharply at the beta.
“Should I be worried about this old friend of yours?” Strider shook his head.
“You should not worry about your safety sir but Gemini’s.”
“What makes you say that?”
“If more of our enemies hear of how close you’ve gotten with her she’ll be a target.” Layton knew all this but he wondered why the beta was telling him now.
“This old friend of yours do I know him.” Strider shrugged.
