Chapter 29

She whirled around immediately after hearing her door open. It was, of course, Prince Jeremy, so she wasn’t exactly taken aback.
Natasha sprang to her feet instantly.
“Jeremy?” To put it simply, she phoned. The moment he reached her, he embraced her.
Sweetheart, he gushed, wrapping his arms around her.
She walked up to the bright window and stood there, looking out at the bustling street. The palace was crowded, reminding Ella of how large and plentiful the pack was. She couldn’t believe she was married to the Alpha King; it was surreal. marriage? He did little more than make some vows! He did not do anything else!
Oh…! She felt embarrassed and condemned. She misses home: not only the house she shared with her harsh siblings, but the home she shared with her mother while she was still alive.
She remembered how well she’d treat her and how she’d make sure no harm came to her. Oh, why did death’s icy hands take her away? If she was still alive, none of this would have happened. She sniffed and looked down at the floor before hearing a knock on the door. Huh? Who could it possibly be? She paused for a while, wondering whether it was one of the Queens who want more problems.
When the doorbell rang again, she decided to open it.
She walked to the door in her huge outfit, which made her feel so awkward, opened it, and tho.
She wasn’t wholly afraid when she realized it was one of the Queens, and it was the one who appeared friendlier – Queen Diana.
Diana quickly grinned, a maid behind her.
Ella observed the maid was carrying a covered calabash.
“H… Hi,” Ella gasped, getting a good look at her. She was aware that she was the third Queen, but she couldn’t determine whether she was as cruel as the others. “Um…. May I come in?”
Diana inquired politely.
“Of course,” Ella said as she opened the door and led her inside. Oh, she hoped she wasn’t causing any more difficulty. She did seem to be more attractive.
“How are you, Queen Ella?” Diana inquired from behind as she entered with her maid.
“I’m OK, My Queen,” Ella said as she turned to face her. She didn’t like the notion that another Queen was addressing her as *Queen*. She couldn’t explain why; she simply didn’t feel like one.
“My name is Diana, Third Wife of the King,” Diana introduced herself.
“And I discovered you’re his newest wife.” Normally, I like to mind my own business here at the castle, but I was raised to always provide a kind welcome to my younger wife. Now, if you don’t mind, I implore you to give me permission to do this. And after today, you probably won’t see me knocking on your door again,” she said with a beautiful grin on her face. Ella furrowed her brow. “Are you a member of the….. Vocalno Pack?” Diana’s eyes widened as she inquired.
“That is right.”
“Um…. Sure, go ahead,” she said. Diana smiled and turned to face her maid. She took the calabash from her, opened it, and handed it to Ella. Ella could see what was there and saw several fey things. Uh… Whatever it is!
Diana said, taking the calabash round in her face, “as you become a part of this family.” “May you succeed, be productive, and accomplish more than I could; and as your direct older wife, I humbly greet you.” Her voice was soft and soothing as she talked.
She paused the rotation of the calabash, dipped a finger into it, and pinned it to Ella’s brow, creating a scarlet mark.
“Welcome to the family, Queen Ella,” she said at the end. Wow…
“Thank you,” Ella responded, bowing. “I’m overwhelmed by your generosity, My Queen.”
“Oh! It’s insignificant. I hope you have a pleasant and productive stay here. ”
I usually like to keep to myself since I don’t want to get into problems with anybody, but if you need anything and believe I could assist you, please don’t hesitate to contact me. Simply inquire about me with the maids, and they will happily bring you to my apartments. Okay?” She squealed.
“Okay. But…. are you saying this because you think I’m like Queen Olivia or Natasha?” Ella inquired, eliciting a perplexed glance from Diana.
“Well, you know, I’d been through hell in their hands.” And the only way I’ve survived is by pretending to mind my own business. “I’d encourage you to do the same if you don’t want to go insane,” she said softly.
“Thank you very much.” Ella gave a nod. “But, you know, I’m not to live?” “I’m not as mean as they are.”
“I know,” Diana laughed. “It’s clear now.” Ella was shocked when she heard a loud knock on the door. “Who’s there?” She inquired in hushed tones, and the door opened, revealing a guard. “Greetings, Queen Ella; the King desires your presence in his rooms.”
Queen Natasha gave the embrace three seconds before pulling away.
“Natasha,” Jeremy said lovingly, his fingers caressing her face. “How are things going?”
But Natasha’s eyes were icy.
“Jeremy, what are you doing here?” She released his grip and went away, towards the bed.
Jeremy would not claim he was shocked.
“Hello, honey…”
“Do not address me as such!” Natasha yelled, turning to face him. “Jeremy, you lied to me! You said you could force me to have a male kid, but what happened? I had a baby daughter!” Her eyes were bright.
“Hey, Natasha, don’t talk like that. Okay, I’m not the one who decides on genders. I simply thought… because I’m not my brother, I could give you a son. I had no notion it would come out the other way.” Jeremy expressed his regret.
“You should have been more precise before getting me pregnant!” Natasha rasped her lips. “You had me proclaim to everyone that I was pregnant with a boy; even the King had faith in me.” I’d already planned how I’d humiliate Olivia and the others if I became Queen. Instead, I was the one who was made fun of!! Even the King was so displeased that he referred to my kid as “bad luck!”
Jeremy pressed his hand to her cheek. “Our child… is not unlucky, okay?”
