He took a breather and walked over to the infant’s crib, where he picked her up in his arms. Oh…!
“What a beauty,” he cooed, his gaze fixed on her innocent face. It made him so happy to know he was holding his first kid in his arms.
Natasha turned and gazed at him as he cradled the youngster, her rage and aggravation growing. “We need to chat more, Jeremy,” she grumbled. 1 “What should we do?” I need a male kid! Or are you abandoning our plan??”
“Of course not, my darling,” Jeremy said as he rose up, the infant still in his arms. “Our strategy remains unchanged, no matter what.” And don’t worry, we’ll do it again. I’ll make sure you become pregnant with a boy this time. I’ll give it my all. Okay?”
Natasha remained silent. And he moved in closer to her.
“Believe in me, Natasha. Okay, everything will come into place. “I adore you.”
“Fine. Just make sure that this stays between us.” She snarled.
“Of certainly,” she says. My mum is the only one who is aware of this. And it will remain that way till the time comes.” He drew Natasha into a hug while holding the infant in one hand.
Three nights, he proclaimed!
She turned to face Queen Diana, who had seen the same expression of terror on her face.
The guard said, “I’ll be waiting outside,” and exited through the closed door.
When Ella saw Diana, she wanted to ask her if she knew why the king had called for her in confidence.
Diana put her hand on her shoulder and reassured her, “You shouldn’t worry.”
The King would not order your death, that much is certain. “Okay?”
“Okay” While taking a few deep breaths, Ella nodded her head and followed Diana out of the room.
The guard, who had been waiting outside, now led the way into the King’s quarters.
The woman felt her heart pounding frantically in her chest.
That the King would be so chuffed with her is implausible. He granted her three days of silence; why the abrupt call now? Oh! She just wasn’t prepared to take this step at this time.
She told herself she had three more nights to be ready.
Ella had a lengthy journey to the King’s Chambers.
As she walked, she was greeted by several housekeepers who seemed more interested in sneaking looks at her than in saying hello. Since she wasn’t accustomed to it, she wasn’t even hoping that they would meet her or show her any kind of deference. Someone whispered, “Yes, the new Queen,” to another as they passed her. Ella was immediately put in an awkward position.
She had a feeling there were many hallways in the castle that she would have to traverse. When they entered the King’s private quarters, Ella’s worst nightmares came true. to the door and knocked on it. The King’s cold voice answered, “Enter,” sending chills down Ella’s spine. And the guard let her in by opening the door for her.
As was his custom, King Spenser was reading in front of his table and paid little attention to the visitors who came into his rooms. Ella and the security guy were definitely recognized.
The soldier bowed and said, “She’s here, my King.” And Spenser was silent for a while until he finally said:
“Leave us,” and the guard obeyed by dismounting his post and leaving.
THE HOUSE OF WITCHES
A morning stroll in the park and the fresh air have always been some of Sucy’s favorite things.
She was carrying a stack of books and making her way down the light corridor toward her bedroom. She, like the other sisters she had seen, was wearing her signature red cloak with the hood up.
She had gotten the books from a wise old woman since she felt the need to brush up on her knowledge of magic. Those beyond the age of 60 were considered palace elders and were accorded special treatment, even by the Queen herself.
When Sucy unexpectedly bumped into Roselin, she was towards the end of the corridor and could already see her room. Oh, no… Roselin greeted Sucy with a cheery “Hi, Sucy.” She was being sarcastic, of course.
Sucy said, “Hi” under her breath. For the life of her, she can’t figure out why Roselin dislikes her so much. She was bringing over a laundry basket full with items.
“I don’t think I’ve ever seen you with so many books before; how are things with you? She was transfixed by the books in Sucy’s hands as she questioned. ”
“Naturally, Roselin. Even if there is an issue, I don’t see why it should be any of your concern. “Sucy gave an answer.
“I see. So, what do you make of the Queen’s complaint from the other day? Apparently, one of us here aided the Alpha King, she added. I mean, who do you suppose it might be?” Sucy hesitated for a moment after hearing her inquiry. Don’t you think you should be broaching the subject with the Queen? Roselin, why do you even need to ask me this? “I don’t know,” she shouted. Oh, Sucy, I wasn’t trying to start anything.
“We’re having a private talk that I have no business hearing” By then, they had arrived at Sucy’s front door.
“Roselin, please stop following me; it’s quite annoying.” As an afterthought, Sucy went inside her room by opening the door. Spirits, be blessed! That young lady was a worse nuisance than a mosquito.
With a sigh of relief, she set the books down on her bed. Nobody should ever find out she was responsible for what occurred, since then she would be in a terrible mess that may easily end in her death. Absolutely no one who breaches the law ever gets away with it.
She double checked her door lock before walking over to her closet and retrieving the letter Viscar had sent the day before. She reread the section and smiled slightly.
Viscar. How they had first met was a moment she would never forget.
A band of bandits ambushed her a few months ago as she was on her way to get supplies from a faraway community. She used her witchcraft to defend herself, but the bandits were too many, and she eventually found herself on the ground.
It was close; they nearly succeeded in killing her. But Viscar came to the rescue at the last minute. She saw him kill most of the living things he was fighting save for two who had gotten away. To give her a moment to collect herself, he spirited her away from the chaos.
