“Mr. Bradley, I’ve told you that this is none of your business,” Cristelle was so pissed off as she saw his face again.
“But those people almost killed my son. I have the right to demand an investigation. If you don’t care about yourself, it’s fine. But I won’t just let them walk away from what they’ve done to my boy.”
His son?
Charles exchanged a horrified look with another officer. Did they just accidentally hear some big secret?
“Who said I don’t care? I love Cody more than you ever will. It’s just… I have a more important issue to handle for now. I remember what they did to my son. I’ll make them pay sooner or later.” Cristelle glared at him. He had no right to teach her what to do!
Cody and Candace were the most precious gifts to her in this world. But she couldn’t just leave Claire in a corner to rot.
She must be so alone right now. She couldn’t even go to their Mom’s grave. Claire had sacrificed everything to keep her safe. Cristelle knew she would never abandon her sister.
Linford sounded cold, “If you’re so stubborn, you will regret your decision one day. Those people won’t keep their promises. Next time when they retaliate, you and the babies will be doomed.”
“You don’t need to remind me. I know what to do. It will never be your concern if anything truly happens to us. Just stop interfering with my business,” Cristelle only cared about one thing right now.
And she would never compromise.
Linford’s handsome face was clouded by anger. Cristelle was so stubborn, “What happened to make you neglect your babies?”
Cristelle looked away, “This is really not your concern. I’ll take care of my own business.”
Claire’s thing involved too many people and relationships. She wouldn’t tell anyone. Besides, she didn’t even know if this man was trustworthy. Cristelle wouldn’t take any risk.
Linford was so pissed off. No one had ever treated him like this before. But there was nothing he could do to make her change her attitude.
The atmosphere was quite scary when Candace walked out of her bedroom. She grabbed Cristelle’s hand before taking Linford’s. Her eyes were as wide as saucers as she shook her head at them, begging them to stop fighting.
She looked adorable.
Linford bent down and picked his daughter up, “What’s wrong, princess?”
Candace pointed at her mommy, shaking her head at him. Linford instantly got his daughter’s meaning, feeling bad, “Alright, Daddy won’t argue with Mommy anymore.”
Candace’s little face broke into a smile.
Nothing made Linford happier than his daughter being close to him again.
Cristelle hated it when Candace was so unguarded around this man. She still remembered how he scolded her and said that Candace’s sickness was all her fault.
“I’ll let it slide this time. But I hope it won’t happen again.” Linford snapped coldly.
Officer Charles and his assistant officer left the apartment instantly.
Cristelle didn’t say anything except cast them a glance. Diego only sent Claire’s detailed address after Cristelle withdrew the charge.
Cristelle was staring at her sister’s face on her PC screen, and her eyes were filled with tears. She needed to go to that place instantly.
What had happened earlier confused everyone in this city. They didn’t know why Mr. Bradley let his prey run away. It was usually not his style. What did the Barnett house do to get rid of that cold-blood businessman?
However, even Barnett had managed to get rid of their criminal charge. Nevertheless, their company still suffered heavily this time.
They would probably never be able to get back to the top anymore.
“This is weird. Why did Linford give up halfway? Zoe, could you help me find the reason?” Inside the luxurious room of the Bradley’s, Clara watched the news with an apprehensive look on her face. She could sense something just went wrong.
Zoe was spreading her limbs on the couch, “I’ve investigated that. It’s that little employee’s call. She was too scared to stand up against the Barnett House. So she withdrew. It’s a game between the privileged. She’s just an ordinary person.”
“I don’t think it will be that easy. There must be something wrong with this Cristelle. Just help me investigate her,” Clara insisted.
Zoe sighed, “Fine… I’ll help you to do that. You’re doing everything for that man.”
Clara’s face changed, “What are you talking about?”
Zoe knew she had said something wrong. She hurried to say, “I’m sorry, okay? I’ll investigate this woman. I’ll expose her completely.”

Cristelle had the heart to leave the city right now so she could see her sister. But Linford was always around. It was impossible to fool him and take her babies to run away. That guy even bought an apartment to keep an eye on her. He would definitely notice it if she disappeared quickly.
He was so difficult to deal with.
“Mommy, you look worried,” Cody concluded as he approached her, tucking a few strands of hair behind her ear.
Cristelle smiled, “It’s okay. I’m okay. Nothing happened.”
She had never left her babies alone for too long. If she had just left, her babies would be so upset.
But Claire would leave that place anytime if she didn’t go right now.
Besides, even if Diego could get her address, Cristelle doubted Claire would ever be safe.
What should she do?
When Linford walked into the living room, Cristelle was still anxious over this issue. Her anxiety got worse the minute she saw this man, “Mr. Bradley, could you at least knock the next time you decide to visit? Stop carrying the keys to my apartment around.”
Linford slammed the keys against the table, “I am their father. I have the right to visit them whenever I want.”
Cristelle rolled her eyes. She didn’t want to argue with him, “Why did you decide to visit then?”
Cody sat down on the couch, his little arms folded with a stern look. He acted like he was facing a bad guy.
Linford’s eyes narrowed. Why did the boy act like he was the bad guy?
“Don’t you remember that we still have some issues to discuss? Are you sure Cody should be here listening?” He just didn’t like the look on the boy’s face.
