As for who the little guy gets that attitude from? It never crossed Linford’s mind.
“Why can’t I listen? I can have my own opinion about this family. Mommy, can I stay?” Cody pouted at his Mom.
Cristelle ruffled his soft hair, “Sure.”
If it were really something the babies shouldn’t listen to, Linford would have cast them out already.
Linford didn’t seem too annoyed, but his tone was stern, “Cody and Candace are both five-year-old. They can’t stay at home all the time. So I’ve contacted Sunshine Childcare. They’ve got an interview today. Why don’t you take the babies there to try?”
Sunshine Childcare was not a random preschool in this city. It had the best facilities and educational resources across the nation. Cristelle did some research before. Sunshine Childcare had the best teachers as well. They even equipped the best pediatricians to ensure the babies’ safety. Most of its students were children from wealthy and influential families. Kids from the middle class could also get in as long as they passed the exams.
Cristelle didn’t worry about Cody. Candace was the one she was most concerned about. The girl couldn’t get along with strangers. She didn’t want her to be scared.
Linford noticed her concern. So he said, “Cody and Candace both need to learn how to get along with other people. They’re just kids. Keeping them in the house all the time was wrong. They have to be exposed to the outside world. You don’t need to worry about Candace. I’ll go there to visit as often as I can. Candace needs to go outside.”
Cristelle knew Candace needed to interact with others, but she just couldn’t stop worrying.
Cody drummed his little chest, “Mom if you think you will miss me, I’ll stay at home and be with you.”
Linford was so pissed off, and he clenched his hands immediately.
After taking a long time, Cristelle decided to look at the kindergarten. She knew her babies needed to find more friends in the outside world.
She dressed them up early that morning. Cody wore a black jeans jacket and a pair of white stainless shoes. Candace wore a pink dress. Her blonde hair was pulled into a little bun. She looked like a little princess.
Cristelle put on a white dress and a black suit jacket. She didn’t put any luxurious brands on, but she was a designer. She knew how to make things look good together.
She seldom took too much time grooming herself. But this was her babies’ first day in school. She must leave a good impression on everyone for their sake.
When they made their presence in the school, everyone couldn’t help staring.
It was not only because they were such a beautiful family. It was also because it was Linford’s wife and children.
The most desirable bachelor in the city suddenly had five-year-old twins. Girls’ hearts would be broken into pieces if they got to see a family of four.
“Linford, my sweet boy, you don’t need to worry about this. I’ll take them to take the test. The babies are the best decision you’ve ever made.” Mrs. Weston, the preschool owner, was a plump old lady. She couldn’t stop smiling when she saw the babies. She lowered her body and picked Cody up, leaving a kiss on his cheek, “Look at you. You’re as handsome as your dad.”
Cody felt a bit awkward. Who was this lady? He didn’t even know her, yet she acted so strangely.
But to make the adults happy, he still pulled out a smile, “Thanks, lady. You’re also beautiful.”
“Geez, aren’t you going to be such a smooth-talker when you grow up?” The old lady’s smile stretched.
Linford only kept his deadpan face. Cristelle tried so hard to stifle a laugh.
My… sweet boy? Pfft…
Mrs. Weston put Cody down before she tried to pick up the girl. But she was clearly an experienced educator. She didn’t pick Candace up directly. Instead, she asked the girl’s opinion, “Candace, you’re as pretty as your Mom. Can I hold you in my arms?”
Candace also wanted to be as popular as Cody. She was both excited and scared about that suggestion. She looked up, giving Cristelle a slight smile.
Cristelle patted her little hand, “it’s okay, honey. Mrs. Weston just likes you.”
Candace nodded. Mrs. Weston also picked her up, “What a beautiful little princess.”
Candace looked at the old lady with wide eyes before looking at her Mommy and Daddy. Then, a sweet smile appeared on her face.
That smile relieved Cristelle immediately. She almost cried upon looking at her daughter. Candace could finally learn to accept a stranger.
“Come, little one. Come with me to take the test and candies,” Mrs. Weston walked into the room carrying Candace in one arm, the other hand holding Cody.
Cody didn’t forget to protect his sister, “Mrs. Weston, Candace is a bit shy. Be gentle with her.”
Mrs. Weston laughed, “Of course! I will.”
They thus entered the door.
Cristelle started to worry again. Would Candace be okay without her in that room?
“Don’t worry. Mrs. Weston is a great woman. Besides, Cody is also there. Candace will be fine. Mrs. Weston has known Candace’s condition. She knew how to take care of her. She’s Drew’s teacher when it comes to psychology,” Linford explained, “Have a cup of tea and relax.”
“She’s that impressive? What’s her relationship with Drew? Her surname is also Weston… Is she…”
“Yes, she’s Drew’s mother, also my Mom’s best friend. I have known her since I was a boy,” Linford sighed.
“I see,” Cristelle nodded.
No wonder she called Linford “sweet boy” Cristelle’s lips curled up into a smile.
Linford was a bit pissed off, “What are you laughing at?”
“Nothing!” Cristelle quickly denied, “Am I laughing?”
Linford rolled his eyes and went silent immediately.
Candace and Cody both came out with Mrs. Weston at this moment. Cristelle hurried to ask, “Ma’am, how are my babies?”
Mrs. Weston couldn’t stop smiling. “They’re Linford’s children indeed. Both of them have extremely high IQs. They are both so talented. Just leave them to me. I’ll take care of them.”
