Linford didn’t even know how to argue.
The babies probably would hate him for this. “Mommy and I were talking about things only adults know. You guys are too little to understand what is happening.”
Cody didn’t buy it as he had heard everything. This man had blamed his mom for leaving the apartment alone.

Drew’s assistant soon arrived. The doctor put the fainted woman on a drip, trembling under the low temperature, “Why is the AC so low? It’s freezing….”
Linford took the remote control and raised the temperature a bit instantly. “Two bottles will take at least 30 minutes. I just made some Mac and Cheese. Let’s go eat in the kitchen,” Drew suggested as he cleaned up his kit.
However, both Candace and Cody refused to go. Linford could only bring the food in and let them eat at a small table.
After lunch, Cody went back to his bedroom and got changed. Then, he returned to Cristelle’s bedroom again, waiting for his mom to wake up with his little sister.
“Cody, your sister needs to take a nap now. So take her to the bedroom,” Linford asked.
Cody didn’t even bother to look up, “I’m not sleepy. You can take Candace to nap yourself.”
Candace realized that her brother was mad again. She hugged his chubby arm, shaking her head slowly.
“Cody Bradley, we need to talk,” Linford felt it was necessary to get things straight with this kid.
Cody snapped, “My name is Cody Friesley. I’m not a Bradley family member. We have nothing to do with each other.”
Linford frowned.
Of course, before he showed up, the kid was a Friesley indeed. “Good, Cody Friesley,” Linford sat on the couch, “Why didn’t you stop your mommy that time when you knew she was gonna leave the house alone?”
Cody huffed, “I trust her.”
“If I didn’t bring her back yesterday, she would have died. See the consequence of you trusting her.”
Cody only felt scared at this moment. Before his mom left the house yesterday, she had told him that he should call 911 if she didn’t come back 1 hour later.
He had been truly worried. But his Mommy had said what she was gonna do was really important. He had thus had no choice but to let her go.
“Your mom is a beautiful woman. How could you just let her leave the house without telling me? Do you still remember the last time when you got kidnapped and almost got killed? Those people are still around, and they decided to sabotage your mother this time. If Officer Charles and I didn’t make it there on time, you probably wouldn’t be able to see your mom again,” Linford frowned, “You’re her firstborn, and you’re gonna be a man one day. Is this how you take care of her?”
Cody went a bit red, “You went to save her because I informed Officer Charles, or you wouldn’t have known. You’re not a good husband, either. You should’ve protected her!”
Linford was a bit pissed off, but wait, did Cody just call him Cristelle’s “husband”?
A faint smile played across his lips, “Why don’t you call me ‘Daddy’ if you admit that I’m her husband?”
NEVER!
Cody would never fall for that.
Drew had been eating his lunch beside them the whole time. He was shocked by the conversation. So Cristelle was in danger yesterday. And there had been a group of people who lurked around and tried to sabotage the babies’ mother?
Cody was still glaring at Linford. Candace didn’t know what was happening. She could only pull at her brother’s hand, looking worried.
Cristelle didn’t wake up until late afternoon. She saw her daughter and son sitting on the couch when she walked out of the bedroom. And Linford was still around.
She thought he was a busy CEO, but he was still here.
Why exactly did he have the leisure to hang around all day?
“Mommy!” Cody ran toward her with open arms, “Mommy, I made some soup for you! You really need to eat now.”
“No hurry, sweetie. I still need to take a shower.” Cristelle smiled at her son.
“Don’t add too much cold water this time,” Linford hummed.
Cristelle was walking toward the bathroom. She almost tripped on her feet, hearing Linford’s voice.
This jerk…So annoying!
Cristelle only got madder as she recalled what he had just said.
She couldn’t even bear staying too long in this bathroom anymore. She couldn’t stop herself from thinking about the moment when Linford watched her touch herself.
He was such a bastard!
Did “privacy” even exist in his vocabulary?
Cristelle was so frustrated that she wanted to hammer her head against the wall.
“Cristelle, are you done? The babies are waiting.” Linford’s deep voice sounded outside the door. He would never admit that he asked because he was worried. The babies thus became the best excuse.
Cristelle covered her face with a towel, and her voice muffled, “I’m coming out soon.”
Cristelle wore a simple black dress after the shower, showing her curves. Linford swallowed as he looked away. Why did this woman wear that kind of dress, popping before him?
“Mommy, come over here!” Cody pulled the chair for her. Cristelle was so hungry. She couldn’t wait as she sent a spoon of soup into her mouth, “Hmm! It tastes so good. Thank you, Cody.”
Cody smiled, “You’re welcome.”
Linford was eating the pasta Drew had just cooked for him, chewing slowly.
“Mr. Bradley, it’s getting really late right now. I think you should go back. My place is too shabby for a big figure like yourself. Besides, the babies are also getting tired now,” Cristelle dropped her politeness as she asked him to leave.
“You’re still mad at me?” Linford smiled at her.
Cristelle didn’t even look at him as she stirred the plate of soup with her spoon, “How dare I will ever be mad at you, your highness? I’m just being honest. You’re a busy man. I don’t want to delay your task.”
Why did she have to act like this? She had been too stupid and put herself and the babies in danger. And he wasn’t even allowed to criticize her a little?
