Cristelle also stood up, her eyes fuming with rage, “You know very well if I am an ungrateful person or not. And you also know how you treated my babies and me when we stayed in your house. Did you really not know that your wife and daughter were here to harass me? Didn’t you want my money as well?”
“You… How could you!” Cyrus raised his hand at Cristelle.
“I called you uncle because I still treat you like one. If you don’t want it the decent way, you can do whatever you want,” Cristelle snapped at him.
Cyrus’s hand was trembling, “Good! Very good! You just mean to disgrace my family, don’t ya? We’ll see, girl. We’ll see!”
With that, he stormed out of Cristelle’s apartment and slammed the door. Cristelle locked the door behind her back before collapsing against the sofa.
Cyrus had begged Cristelle’s Mom to get him a good position in the government using her Dad’s influence and power. But her Mom didn’t agree because she didn’t want to cause any trouble for her husband. Cristelle knew that was the real reason why her uncle hated her.
Cody had seen everything through the door crack. He ran toward his Mom, clubby arms circling her neck, “Mom, don’t be sad because of that crappy man. It’s not worth it.”
It seemed like his Mom had been sad after that man left.
Cody just hugged his Mom tighter. Candace also approached, hugging Cristelle.
“Mommy’s not sad. Mommy will always be brave for my babies,” Cristelle said as she kissed their little heads.
She was even more sure that she should quit her job to take care of her babies.
But things just tended to unfold unexpectedly.

When Cristelle finished her resignation letter, her phone suddenly started to buzz.
It was from Alfred.
“Cristelle, we need you in the company right now. Can you come?”
Cristelle suddenly felt a bit nervous, “What happened?”
Alfred only said, “Just come here and you will know.”
Cristelle hung up the phone and grabbed her resignation, bringing her two babies along with her.
They made it to the building soon. Cody tipped his chin as he took in the enormous building, pouting.
That man did have some money, huh?
Candace only rested her head on Cristelle’s shoulder. Everyone was watching her babies when Cristelle walked into the hall.
“Sheesh. Are they your twins, Cristelle? They’re so cute!” Fritzi stopped in her tracks as she saw the babies, “Can I hold you, cutie?” Fritzi held out her arms at Candace. Candace buried her head in Cristelle’s chest, scared.
Before Cristelle could explain, Cody suddenly said, “Beautiful lady, my sister is pretty shy. You can hold me if you want. By the way, you have the most beautiful pair of eyes I’ve ever seen.”
No one wouldn’t like a sweet-talker. Fritzi giggled as she heard what the boy said, holding him up and pinched his little nose, “Thanks, I’m flattered.”
Other staff of the building also came to see the babies.
“You’re so beautiful. Will you marry me when I grow up?” Cody was in his flirty mode.
Fritzi laughed, “No problem. But you don’t think I’m old when you grow up.”
She stared at Cody’s face and then looked at Cristelle. Suddenly, a weird idea generated, “Cristelle, why do your babies look so much like Mr. Bradley? Are they actually…”
“How is it even possible? Stop saying that, Fritzi,” Cristelle cut her off instantly.
“You also think so, right? Me too,” Drew suddenly showed up, smiling, “Alright, Cristelle, stop standing there. Mr. Bradley is expecting you. Let’s get in.”
Saying that, he took Cody from Fritzi naturally, walking into the CEO’s office. Fritzi stared at them as they walked away. She still thought the babies looked like Mr. Bradley.
Drew knocked on the door and got in the room carrying Cody. Cristelle followed his steps carrying Candace. They looked like a family. Linford was reading the files on the table. The sight of the four people somehow made him uncomfortable. But he didn’t show it on his face.
“Mr. Bradley, why are you summoning me?” Cristelle asked.
Linford huffed, a cold gleam in his eyes as he looked at Cody, “Why did you say I was your father?”
“What?” Drew’s mouth dropped as he looked at Cody, “Did you really say that?”
Cristelle was also confused. She thought Cody hated Linford.
“Mr. Bradley. You must have heard it wrong. Cody would never say something like this. Why would he ever say that? It’s impossible!”
Cristelle tried to explain, but she was too nervous, making it look like she didn’t want anything to do with Linford.
Linford’s face fell.
“The police officer told me. Why would I lie about it?” Linford reclined in his chair, and his tone was cold.
Cristelle was even more curious as she asked her baby, “Cody, what happened? Did you really say that?”
“No!” Cody pouted, “I never said you were my dad!”
He couldn’t hate this man more.
“Then you probably should explain why did the police say that? Did they try to slander a little boy?” Linford was serious as he said that.
Cristelle always knew these two couldn’t get along.
Drew looked at Linford and then Cody. He was confused because he couldn’t understand why Linford would be so serious with a child.
“Cody, just think about it. Have you ever said anything to the police officer to cause a misunderstanding?” Cristelle approached the boy, leaving a kiss on his cheek.
Cody tilted his head to the side as if he was trying to recall something, “Oh! I just recalled. I’ve never said anything to the police. They misunderstood it.”
Cody just repeated what he had said to make the kidnapper hesitate.
“I only said my Dad was the most powerful man in this city. I’ve never said who he was. Besides, I don’t even know who’s the most powerful man in this city. I’m just a little boy,” Cody shrugged.
Everyone could tell how smart the boy was.
He’d got to be extremely calm to lie and use the fact that he looked like Linford. That was why that kidnapper didn’t dare to touch him. The Bradley House was not a joke in this city.
“Hahaha! Why are you such a smart boy?” Drew kissed his forehead.
