A police officer jumped off the boat as well.
Marco lost his hostage. He thus also wanted to jump into the sea, but a bullet got him on his left leg. He collapsed against the cold deck. The police seized him soon.
By dawn, Cody had been carried onto an ambulance.

“Mommy! Mommy! I miss you so much!” Cody cried as he jumped off his bed, running into Cristelle’s arms.
“Cody! My boy!” Tears covered Cristelle’s face, and she was holding her son tightly in her arms.
She had been so worried. She thought she was gonna lose her boy. Luckily, Cody was unharmed. “Mommy won’t leave you guys alone at home ever again. It’s all my fault. I should have taken care of you,” Cristelle kissed the top of his head nonstop. She felt relieved seeing her little boy was saved.
Candace ran to her brother’s arm. Candace had never been apart from her brother for so long in her life. She couldn’t stop crying as she saw Mommy was also crying.
Cody also got emotional as he was held and surrounded by his Mom and sister. He almost cries. However, he suddenly saw that man in the room, the man he hated the most.
Cody comforted Cristelle and Candace, trying to calm them down, “Mommy, it’s okay. I didn’t even get hurt. Candace, stop crying. Or you can’t eat ice cream later.”
Linford had never expected Cristelle’s son to be this little brat. He felt oddly complicated after looking at him.
“He’s good at acting,” Linford snorted.
“Why? I think he’s cute. I wish I could have a son like this,” Drew exclaimed.
He had got Linford’s phone call this morning. Linford originally had asked him to take care of Cristelle. No one had expected the police to be so fast.
“You know them?” Linford asked confusingly.
Drew shrugged, “Yep, that’s the twins I mentioned to you. What do you think? Don’t they look so much like you? I thought they were your children.”
Was that brat his son? Linford shot Drew a deadly stare.
Drew shut up instantly, not daring to make any jokes anymore.
“Mommy!” Cody suddenly screamed.
They both looked up, only to find Cristelle suddenly passed out.
Cody and Candace were terrified, “Mommy! Mommy!”
Drew dashed forward, hearing her heart instantly as he reassured other people in the room. “It’s okay. She’s only too tired.”
Cody let out a breath, “Thank you, sir.”
“You’re welcome, man,” Drew just adored these cute twins too much and couldn’t help but indulge them.
Cristelle was sent to the VIP ward. Drew carried the babies with two arms, following the nurse out of the ward.
To everyone’s surprise, Cody didn’t protest. He liked this doctor who could make Candace get better. Candace couldn’t get used to this. She didn’t like to be carried by strangers. She pouted, looking like she was gonna cry.
Linford noticed the look on the girl’s face. He caught up with Drew and almost snatched the girl away from his arm.
“Don’t touch my sister!” Cody’s protective instinct kicked in, staring at Linford coldly, “You’ll make her cry.”
Drew also didn’t expect Linford to be doing that. He thus explained, “Candace doesn’t enjoy being carried by strangers.”
Linford was slightly offended as they both protested. He looked down at the little girl in his arms. Candace’s eyes were as wide as saucers, staring at him. She didn’t look scared. She looked curious.
“She doesn’t cry,” Linford shrugged and walked away, ignoring them both.
Cody was furious!
What the heck was wrong with this old man? He tried to fawn at his Mom, and he was trying to steal away his little sister. He was so annoying.
Candace rested against Linford’s chest, wide eyes boring into his handsome face, chubby hand playing with the button on his shirt.
Linford smiled.
Cody went even more furious.
Why would Candace do that? He thought she would cry if strangers got too close.
Cody couldn’t understand the whole situation.
Drew still had other patients to take care of. He left the ward soon, leaving the four people in the room.
“You’re free to go, sir. I’ll take care of my Mom and sister,” Cody stood before Linford, little arms folded.
Linford’s eyebrow raised as he pinched the little boy’s cheek with two long fingers, teasing, “What’s the deal from the beginning? Hostile much?”
Candace giggled. She thought the way Linford pinched Cody’s face was funny.
“Candace likes it?” Linford smiled as he kept pinching Cody’s chubby face. Cody felt humiliated, throwing his little fists at the tall man before him, but he couldn’t reach him.
Candace just kept giggling.
Cristelle opened her eyes to the scene, amazed when she found out her daughter was leaning against Linford’s chest, laughing.
“Feel better now?” Linford was the first one who finds Cristelle had opened her eyes.
“Mommy! You woke up!” Cody was thrilled.
Candace stretched her arms toward Cristelle, demanding a hug. Linford put her on the bed. The girl kicked off her shoes and got under the blanket, holding onto her Mom’s warm body.
Cristelle kissed Candace’s hair before looking up. “Thank you so much, Mr. Bradley.”
“You’re welcome. I have some business to handle in the company. See you around,” Saying that, Linford walked out of the ward.
“Mommy, you feel better?” Cody rested his forehead against Cristelle’s, “You must be so scared.”
Cristelle sniffed and held her boy tightly in her arms, “It’s all mom’s fault. I should’ve taken care of you.”
Cody shook his head, “It’s all Ingrid and her daughter’s fault. How did they get our keys anyway?”
Cristelle was also curious, “I don’t know. But they’ve both been caught. I believe the police will find it out soon.”
Cody nodded and then frowned, “Mom, but I think someone wants to kill me.”
Cristelle was stunned, “Why? Why do you say that?”
Cody thus told her the whole thing that happened by the harbor, “Mom, did we ever make any enemies in this city? I don’t think Ingrid can offer 10 million.”
Cristelle felt her blood-curdling in her vein. Who would have wanted to do that to her boy? She had a vague guess, but she had to find evidence, or it would just slip away like sand.
