Cristelle wanted to check out who it was, but the man holding her suddenly snapped, “Focus, don’t look back.”
Linford Bradley?
Cristelle nodded, not daring to move anymore. The man caught on her waist and took her as they surpassed the person before them.
Cristelle felt she could take care of herself now. So she asked with a gentle voice, “Mr. Bradley, you can let go now.”
Linford hummed but showed no intention of letting her go, further taking her onto the field.
Cristelle could feel his hot breath against her ear, making her itchy. Linford was an extraordinary skier. They surpassed most employees even though he was taking Cristelle with him.
Cristelle blushed furiously. Luckily, she was still wearing a huge pair of glasses. If people saw the look on her face, she couldn’t even imagine what kind of rumor would generate after this. When Linford surpassed Pamela and Diego with Cristelle, both Pamela and Diego went dumbfounded. Diego dashed forward immediately. Pamela could only curse Cristelle inwardly.
This woman was such a whore. How could she just seduce everyone she met?
The winner was an employee from Diego’s company. Diego thus also won. But no one would even care about the result anymore. Instead, they all focused on Cristelle and Linford. After the game, Linford took her off the field, approaching the car so he could get changed, leaving Cristelle behind.
“What happened? Why did you scream?” Fritzi asked curiously.
Cristelle smiled, “It was my fault. I almost fell.” People’s eyes were complicated as they stared at her. Cristelle could only continue, “Mr. Bradley was kind enough to help me. Or I would be so doomed.” Cristelle’s tone was casual, but other guys couldn’t stop sniggering as if they had just discovered a big secret.
Cristelle felt it was getting awful. But explaining it could only make it worse. So she gave up.
“Cristelle’s just like before. Men are chasing after her. Look at Mr. Bradley; he absolutely adores her,” Pamela smiled as she held onto Diego’s arm.
Diego’s face fell, his tone harsh and cold, “Other people shouldn’t know that we know each other. It’s not good for our business.”
Pamela answered dryly, “Okay… Get it. Will we go back after your business is done?”
Diego sounded unsure, “Well… It really depends on how things unfold in the future.” With that, he just walked away.
Pamela’s fists clenched.
The winner was Diego’s employee. Linford thus booked a VIP room in the hotel that day. Cristelle was worried about her babies. She wanted to go home, but Fritzi refused to let her go, saying something entertaining would happen soon. Cristelle didn’t even care. She didn’t even share the same table with Diego or Pamela. But to keep her job, she still chose to stay.
Linford didn’t talk or eat much during the meal. Diego’s employees were trying so hard not to let the atmosphere be too awkward.
Diego and Pamela were both at ease, having identical smiles on their faces. Cristelle was sitting beside another colleague, trying to be as low-key as possible.
“Sheesh, I just found an interesting video, Mr. Bradley. Do you wanna take a look?” Saying that Fritzi showed Linford her phone.
Linford frowned, “I’m not interested.”
Diego smiled, “What is it, Fritzi?”
Fritzi started to play the video, “It’s not that fun, actually. My friend is working in the skiing field. She knew I enjoyed skiing. So she sent me a video. But… Cristelle, you’re so weird. You said you weren’t paying attention during the competition. But you falling over was not an accident.”
Pamela dropped her glass as she heard what Fritzi had just said.
“What’s wrong?” Diego looked concerned, but his eyes filled with anger. How could she act like this in public?
Pamela stuttered, “No-Nothing.” She didn’t dare to look him in the eyes.
“It’s quite fun. Do you want to take a look, Mr. Barnett?” Fritzi asked carefully.
“Just forget about it, Diego,” Pamela tried to stop him.
There were so many people around here that what Pamela was doing made Diego look weak in front of his employees. Diego was so pissed off. What was wrong with this, Pamela? How could she make him so embarrassed?
“It’s okay. I’ll take a look,” Ignoring Pamela, Diego took the phone. The next minute, however, he panicked, “Mr. Bradley, I’m so sorry.”
Pamela was so scared. Diego had never been like this in front of anyone.
Linford didn’t even bother to watch that video, his voice as cold as always, “What happened? Why did you suddenly apologize to me?”
Linford was just acting, but what he just said made things even more embarrassing for Diego. Diego had acted apologetically before this man, but Linford didn’t seem like he even cared.
Fritzi was the one who broke the silence, “Mr. Barnett, you shouldn’t be the one who apologizes. It was not because of you.”
She couldn’t be more obvious.
Pamela must apologize to Cristelle. Then this whole thing could finally be gotten over with.
However, Pamela couldn’t do that in front of so many people. Her eyes were burning viciously into Cristelle. Diego looked at Cristelle like a puppy.
Cristelle cast a stare at Linford. Fritzi had said something entertaining was going to happen. So this was what she meant? She felt grateful. She had decided to suck it up. But Fritzi chose to do this for her. So, Cristelle felt she shouldn’t let her down.
But she was also worried that the cooperation would be affected if she acted too much.
“Cristelle, I’m so sorry. I didn’t mean to do that,” Hesitant for a moment, Pamela suddenly stood up, admitting her fault.
Cristelle felt relieved as she smiled, “It’s okay. You don’t need to apologize to me. It’s the ski field. Bumping into each other was normal. I don’t even care.”
She knew she shouldn’t let things get more awkward. After sitting down, Cristelle cast a look at Linford. His expression didn’t change, but his lips curled up slightly. This man seldom made any moves, but he had got everything under his control.
