I was a werewolf in the house of hunters

Oliver’s POV;
Soon, I changed into my wolf form, and I growled in anger.
“ROSE! YOU ARE MINE!”
Changing into my wolf form wasn’t enough to calm my racing heart. My feet were moving on their own. I was overwhelmed by the betrayal from the only girl I had loved my entire life. It was the last thing I was expecting, especially from ‘her’.
I stopped in front of the lake and growled as loud as I can, to release my frustration. But today, it was not enough.
I am pretty sure, I scared the hell out of every living being near me. I heard the footsteps of animals running away from me. I knew hunters were crawling on this land and if one found me, they would definitely try to kill me as they did with Elijah, but I couldn’t care less.
As the name Elijah resonated in my brain, I was fuming with anger all over again. The tension in my body was back. I wanted to tear each and everything coming my way.
There is no way I will let anyone, let alone that filthy crown prince, take my Rose away from me.
I looked at my reflection in the lake and a big black wolf was staring back at me.
It reminded me of the day when I first changed. I had looked at my reflection for the first time in this very lake.
It was a long time ago but it still feels like yesterday.
It all started when I became a rebel and stopped drinking the energy tea my mom was giving me because it tasted way too bad.
After skipping that tea and feeding it to my aloe Vera in my room, I was feeling okay for two weeks. I observed nothing really happened, in fact, I felt more energetic and focused after skipping it.
Now I know that it was because wolfsbane was actually making me weak from inside but at that time I had no idea what was going on with me.
So, after those two weeks, I woke up in the middle of the night and felt an immense pain in my chest. I kept my hand on my chest when the pain became unbearable.
The pain spread through my stomach and my limbs, and soon it spread through my entire body. I felt like my body was going to break.
I couldn’t breathe. I was getting suffocated. I felt like dying. When I got up, I was about to fall, I held the dressing table for support but my other hand never left my chest.
At first, I thought it was a normal pain due to a workout hence, I took the pain killer but the pain was increasing with every second.
The more I stayed in my room, the more suffocated I felt. My lungs were burning due to the depletion of oxygen. I felt like I was going to die if I didn’t move out of the room.
Holding everything for support that was coming my way, I managed to open the door and left the room. I somehow walked out of the house carefully, without making much noise, refraining myself from waking someone else.
I thought coming out for some fresh air would make me feel good but it literally had zero effect on me. Instead, my body started temperature rising abnormally by every second. My breath quickened.
Just when I was in front of my house, my legs gave up and I fell on my knees.
I fell on my hands and I saw something strange. I saw black hair growing out of my hand in bulk like an animal and even my nails sharpened and grew larger like claws.
My eyes widened in shock. I felt an immediate rush of adrenaline and I ran towards the wood to hide the ugly truth which I wanted to keep secret from my family.
I was running as fast as I could but my feet were not really supporting me.
Just after a few long strides, I fell on the floor again but this time, in all fours position.
The pain intensified and I could feel the crazy ache in my entire body up to my fingers and toes.
It was too much to handle.
Then I felt something that I never felt before. My own spine broke and rejoined. My eyes were as wide as the moon when such an incident happened in my own living body.
I didn’t even get a chance to recover from the shock when one by one all my joints broke and rejoined. It felt like the end of me but I still managed to go through the pain alive.
My hands and feet were changed into claws. I didn’t know what to do so I started running away from my home as far as possible.
I tried my best to crawl as far as I could and finally stopped in front of a lake in the middle of the forest to witness my horrendous reflection in the lake. A giant black wolf was staring back at me. I was not myself anymore.
I screamed. I screamed like hell but all I heard was a howl.
‘How can I be a monster?’ was the thought lingering in my head.
Then the realization hit me like a bucket of ice-cold water was poured over me, I was a werewolf in the house of hunters.
Instantly I knew that I had to be very careful if I had to survive in this house but I just couldn’t adjust to the new change.
Accepting the reality of my true existence was the hardest part of this painful journey.
I remembered that my father told me once that werewolf changes when they are thirteen then why did I change so late?
‘Am I weak or is there something that stopped my transformation took its normal course’
The question was like an eye-opener for me. It took me a hard time to realize that the only change which I recently made was to stop consuming the energy tea that my mother gave me every day.
This truth was even harder to accept than the truth of my existence, that someone I love and trust dearly hid my entire existence from me.
‘MY MOM KNEW IT THE WHOLE TIME?’
