Third Person’s POV;
“Some girl called my brother, sister-in-law, I guess” Cora replied with a big yawn at the end almost muting the last two words.
‘WHAT? SISTER IN LAW?’ She shouted in her head. She felt like a dagger passed right through her heart.
‘Is he getting married to someone else? Did he lie to me? Am I just a…’ She was dragged out of her train of thought when she heard the angelic voice again.
“Who is it? And why did you receive the call when you are not even half awake?” Layla asked aggressively.
‘Even her voice sounds elegant? She sounds like she was born to be royalty!’ Rose thought being amazed by the unknown female on the other side.
Then the word sister-in-law echoed through her mind again. She couldn’t handle the pain in her chest anymore. She was not expecting a cheating scandal from Elijah ever. And in this case, if the girl is already living with his family then she is the one at fault. She is the one Elijah is using to cheat on the other girl and she can’t be the b*tch.
She unknowingly shook her head from left to right and was about to disconnect the call when she heard Layla’s next words.
“Did you just say ‘some girl’, it could be her, Cora! You idiot!” The girl nearly shouted and struggled to get the phone from the sleeping Cora.
The very next second, Rose heard the voice of the person she was imagining to be the epitome of elegance.
“Hello, is that Rose?” Layla asked in excitement.
“Uh, yes” Rose replied hesitantly.
‘How did his fiance know about me? What is wrong with these werewolves?’ Rose was confused by the whole ordeal.
“I am so sorry for the inconvenience. That was Cora, Elijah’s younger sister. She is a bit sleepy and was talking gibberish” Layla sounded way too embarrassed.
Layla checked the time and it was 4. 30 in the evening. Her mouth was wide open in shock.
‘How did he know her so well? She really did call in the evening’ Layla thought amazed by their already strong mate bond.
“And you are?” Rose tried to sound polite but her voice sounded a bit mean.
“Oh, I am Elijah’s cousin, Layla Swan. Nice to talk to you” Layla ignored the tone as she can understand that Rose might have misunderstood when instead of Elijah two strange girls answered his call.
‘If she is her cousin then why did his sister called her sister-in-law? Does Elijah have another brother?’ Rose had million thoughts running through her mind.
“Oh, I see. Same here. Where is Elijah?” Rose inquired hesitantly.
“He is out of town for a….. a very important meeting” Layla replied but Rose was suspicious about it.
“I see. I just wanted to inform him that I have made up my mind and I want to join the pack by tomorrow. If that is possible, of course” Rose asked respectfully.
“Of course, it is possible. My brother will be so happy to hear it when he comes back” Layla said and the enthusiasm was clear from her voice.
‘Another one! He just know everything about her! I wish Liam could do the same! Does Elijah is having superpowers that we don’t know about?’ Layla thought wondering.
“But he is out of town” Rose said, her voice was still awkward.
‘Why is she so awkward and hesitant? Did she get a wrong idea about me?’ Layla thought and decided to do something about it.
“No worries, he will be back in a couple of days. I will help you settle here till then. I have been assigned with the responsibility to settle you here by brother anyways” Layla said with a beaming smile on her face as she couldn’t contain the excitement of finally meeting Elijah’s mate.
“Brother?” Rose asked hesitantly.
“Yeah, brother Elijah. He is older than me” Layla simplified.
“Oh, yes. Okay” Rose’s voice instantly lit up which didn’t go unnoticed by Layla.
“Why don’t you go outside and talk? A little girl is trying to take a powernap here?” Cora demanded from the bed and Layla rolled her eyes at the little Demon’s demand.
“Excuse me? Powernap? You have been sleeping for two hours straight, Cora! Go and study for tomorrow’s test or Nicholas will make history this time” Layla said nudging her constantly until she got up from the bed.
“You guys are so mean!” Cora growled and went out of the room.
“Sorry about that. There is a spoiled princess here” Layla chuckled.
“No problem” Rose added with a small chuckle.
“At what time should I pick you up tomorrow?” Layla asked gently.
“You are coming to pick me up?” Rose asked surprised.
“Yeah, I told you I have been given a responsibility” Layla replied softly.
“Okay, pick me up in the morning. Whatever time is okay for you” Rose replied back with a smile.
“10 o’clock then? I can’t wait to meet you” Layla said excitedly.
“Sure. I would love to meet you too” Rose replied and hang up the phone.

Oliver’s POV;
After spending some time alone in my favorite cafe, I finally came back to the house. I couldn’t control myself when I heard Rosey uttering such nonsense. I checked my cell phone on my way back, and there were 11 missed calls from Rosey. I hope she must got her senses back by now.
How can she take such a rash decision? She can’t fall in love with the guy she met just two days ago! It’s absurd! And I am not going to let her take such a foolish decision!
But I had to move away from her so that I won’t do something I would regret later.
I opened the door with the spare keys I had and looked around. As I saw no one, I closed the door and tried to sneak inside.
When I was moving upstairs towards my room, I saw Mark strolling in the corridor.
“Mark, what’s wrong?” I asked because he looked a bit tensed.
“Oliver, Gosh man! Where were you?” He asked looking at me with relief.
“I was out. I needed some ‘me time’. What happened to you? Why are you so tensed?” I asked him.
“I was tensed about you” He confessed.
“Me?” I asked in confusion.
“Come with me” rather than replying to question, Mark dragged me in his room and locked the door.
“What’s wrong, buddy?” I asked again.
“Look, Oliver. I know you have feelings for Rose. We are not blood related and you are a great guy. I mean, you are still my best friend” Mark started the confession making me more confuse with every word.
“What are you trying to convey, Mark?” I asked hesitantly but there was a hint of anger about to burst out.
“Rose, she… she had made up her mind. She is going to the pack house tomorrow morning. It’s called pack house, right?” Mark answered with another question.
“What rubbish!” I shouted in anger but the foolish Mark didn’t understand why I was having this reaction.
“So it isn’t called pack house?” Mark asked in confusion.
“You idiot! It is called pack house but how can she just go there? How can she just trust those werewolves? They are our enemies!” I screamed in frustration.
“This rivalry is not related to Rose” Mark replied sternly.
“Yes, it is. Rose is part of us” I fired back the truth without hesitation.
“Family, yes but not the hunters. She is far away from this rivalry and stuff. If given a chance, she will not even call Blue her family too” Mark replied frankly but I wasn’t having it.
I heard Mark taking a deep sigh before he turned towards me,
“Look Oliver, she has made up her mind. I don’t think we can change it. Your one sided love won’t be able to change her decision. Let her be” Mark said trying to convince me but I can never accept it.
“How can you agree to this madness, Mark? You are her brother! You need to choose what’s best for her! You can’t just agree to her random fantasies? It’s the real werewolves we are dealing with! He can fu**ing kill her if he lose it” I screamed in Mark’s face but he didn’t back down.
“Oliver, he is the f*cking Crown Prince of werewolves. You can’t expect a crown prince to lose his temper and kill his own mate! Are you even listening to yourself and that Elijah, he seems like a good guy. Rose said, ‘if he wanted to he could’ve hurt her long back’ and I trust my sister’s words” Mark said firmly making me even more shock by his betrayal.
“I can’t believe this. I can’t believe my own f*cking ears! My best friend is siding with my enemy!” I said taking two steps back as it felt like his words really hit me in the gut.
“You are wrong, Oliver! It’s just a brother is standing with his own sister! Her whole life she did everything our parents wanted but now that she wants some happiness for yourself, I will make sure that I stand with her until my last breathe” Mark said with a stern face.
“This is so messed up” I groaned while moving out of his room.
“Where are you going?” he asked behind me but I didn’t turn back.
“Hell!” I shouted before I stormed out of the house.
I was boiling with anger. I couldn’t control it anymore. How can Mark side with him? How can I lose everything so easily.
I knew if I don’t let it out, I won’t be able to handle it later and end up doing something I will regret for the rest of my life.
I ran towards the woods. My body was radiating heat. The fire of fury I was feeling was enough to burn down this whole town. I was running as fast as possible to run far away from my house. To run away from her.
Without wasting a precious moment of my life, I tore my shirt and let the animal inside me take control.
Within seconds, I was on all fours as my hands changed into the claws and my hair started to grow. My spine broke and re-joined again.
And soon, I changed into my wolf form and growled in anger.
“ROSE! YOU ARE MINE!”
