Book:Fated To The Ruthless Alpha King Published:2024-6-5

Miranda arrived at the compound of the silver packhouse with her newly wedded mate that evening, and just as the way they’d left, there were a flock of silver wolves waiting to welcome in their new Luna at the entrance. She came down from the vehicle holding his hand, same time as the soldiers offloaded their luggage and carried them inside. The new couple were greeted by the council members who were standing at the front and in order to make up for the celebration of their alpha’s wedding, the silver wolves proposed a feast to honor their new Luna right there.
Miranda first heard about the feast from madame Jane’s mouth after she’d returned to her room.
“But my mate didn’t let me know about any such feast before!” She complained.
“He was not aware too; it was meant to be a surprise to welcome the both of you.”
Sighs, “I don’t think I can attend, the journey returning here was a hectic one! I’m really tired madame Jane.”
“I’m sorry dear, but you don’t have much of a choice. The silver wolves won’t hear of a new Luna moving in here without hosting a celebration of theirs to welcome her, especially since majority of them missed the alpha’s wedding. It’s a welcoming gesture they organized for you on their part and I don’t think it would be nice for you to refuse to come.”
“You’re right… ugh, I can’t refuse,” she groaned. “So, I have to get ready now?”
“Yes dear, it’s supposed to be a welcoming party right after you come, but the leaders spared you an hour to get ready for it.”
“I am so unprepared for this! I don’t even have what to wear!”
“Don’t worry about that dear, so long as you live in this packhouse, I don’t think you’ll never have such problems. Alpha Damian arranged a new wardrobe for while you both were away.”
“He… did what?”
“Yes, I guess he arranged plenty of wedding gifts that you’re soon about to find out! Now, enough with the long talks…. Remember that you only have one hour for you to join them downstairs, we don’t want to keep our party hosts waiting!”
Madame Jane then called in a group of servants to help her get ready for the party, they picked out a laced green sheath gown decorated with small stones and long sleeves from one of the very expensive clothing in Miranda’s new wardrobe, her hair was curled and packed to the side with a fancy hair pin, and one of them helped her retouch her make-up from the one she previously wore. The dress was matched with simple elegant jewelry which Miranda could tell was also very expensive. Damian had bought them and so many more, all for her. In less than an hour, she was ready, looking just as ravishing as the way she looked on her wedding day.
“This is… really good, thank you all,” she said in appreciation to the three young women who were now taking their leave after finishing the work they came for. It was now a few minutes remaining to the party.
“We’ll be waiting for you downstairs,” madame Jane then left the room for Miranda to have a moment alone to herself before heading down. She sat in front of the vanity table, looking at herself in the mirror, unable to believe it was this same Miranda. More than a week ago, she was a prisoner here, counting the days left she had to live, all because of a lack of proof of identity, and now, because of the mercy shown towards her by the alpha, and for some reason she still does not understand, she is now about to stand as a queen, before the very same people who she’d knelt in the middle of the court as a prisoner that day. Indeed, life has many different sides to it.
Knock-knock-knock.
“Who could be visiting her at this time when everyone was gathered downstairs?” Maybe madame Jane forgot something.
“Come in,” she answered.
The door swung open slowly and of course, it wasn’t madame Jane that entered, but her new mate, alpha Damian.
She stood upon seeing him, “oh, I… I didn’t expect to see you here….”
“I met Madame Jane as I was leaving my chambers, she said you were still in your room, and I thought then to come pick you up so we could go together.”
“Oh, um… that’s very thoughtful… thank you.”
There’s no need to thank me…” he was reluctant to say the next words at first but then he couldn’t help it anymore, “by the way… um, you look… beautiful.”
‘Oh, why… thank you.”
“Again, no need to thank me Miranda, it’s just a simple complement.”
It took a lot to hide her flushed cheeks from him, too bad he still noticed them.
“Are you ready to go now, Miranda?”
“Yes…” she stated confidently. “Yes, I am.”
He took her hand and led her out of the room, through the halls, and to the ground floor where the party was being held in one of the rooms. As they entered, all the merriment stopped as everyone stood in acknowledgement of their presence. All the music, and the cheering stopped, even the waiters who went round serving drinks paused where they were, and waited until the alpha and his new Luna entered and became seated. Miranda looked around, strange to this new world she was now a part of, so this is what respect feels like? She’d never known this much respect in all her years of being a lotus princess.
“But now, you are a silver queen!” Lily bubbled.
“It feels good, yet it feels so strange, I prefer to see them more as friends than followers. I hope I won’t fall short of all their expectations for a queen.”
“I have no doubt you won’t dear, no doubt at all.”
It was a small party, mostly made up of the circle of silver leaders, and a few high-ranking members of the pack. In the middle of the room, stood a big round table where everyone was seated according to their ranks. Miranda was given a Luna seat, a big throne on its own but smaller than that of the alpha beside whom she sat. She feasted right there by his side, watching as the wolves ate and drank themselves to stupor with young half-naked women dancing to entertain them all round.
Miranda really began to wonder then if this celebration was really for her, still, she didn’t want to make the situation seem awkward by leaving since it was meant for her, so she sat through to the end of it, enduring it all, until it was finally over. Or at least, until her mate noticed her yawning every few seconds due to tiredness and decided it was time to call off the party. All the wolves bid them goodnight and retired to their quarters. Miranda was more than happy leave and to retire to her room, and when she entered, she realized that the room was now empty as all her belongings had been cleared out.
