Erelah POV
After questioning me on the witness stand, they called Gazer to testify next in Damon’s case. I don’t know how long Damon’s appointment has been, but earlier the Judge said that after Gazer spoke, we will return tomorrow for a second hearing on Damon’s case.
I looked at the way Damon was looking at Gazer, I swallowed hard and asked myself, did we get justice for my father’s death? I don’t want to think about things in the village right now because the only thing that matters to me right now is getting Damon out.
I admit that I want to be with him, not as a friend but more as a friend. I have a lot of things I want to do with him, so what I’m focusing on now is getting Damon out as I promised him that I would get him out of the prison.
“Mr. Rodolfo, AKA Gazer, how well do you know Damon?” The other side’s lawyer asked. The surroundings were quiet and the eyes of the people here were only focused on Gazer and the lawyer who was questioning him.
“Since our childhood,” Gazer replied. The lawyer nodded.
“You’re best friends right?” The lawyer asked again.
“Yes.”
“Based on the record I read, you and Damon lived in the same house when you were young, where are your parents?” The lawyer asked Gazer.
“Damon’s parents passed away early, while I’m a big boy,” Gazer replied, I just found out about that matter, Gazer didn’t talk to me. But now, I understand that the reason why he is so close to Damon is that he treats him like a brother, they grew up together under the same roof.
“May I know how you were able to pay your bills back then by yourself?” The lawyer asked Gazer.
“We will work while studying,” Gazer replied. “Then Damon’s former doctor helped us,” Gazer added. The lawyer nodded and then asked Gazer again.
“Is it true that your friend is sick?” The lawyer asked Gazer.
“Yes,” Gazer replied.
“Can you tell us how you discovered Damon was sick?” The lawyer asked Gazer.
Gazer suddenly stopped and looked at Damon’s behavior, it was only for a moment but that gaze was full of meaning, a gaze that I couldn’t understand if I saw fear or sadness.
“When we were children, we noticed that his attitude towards us was different. We were more used to him treating us coldly and coldly, but after a few hours or a few days, he would suddenly become hot-headed, becoming matured sometimes and often becomes… becomes laughable.” Gazer said.
“Didn’t you think that maybe that was just part of his behavior with Damon? That it’s normal for someone to be hot-headed and happy?” The lawyer asked Gazer.
“We were still young, did we seem to know anything when we were little? Of course, we were thinking about games, food, and how to live.” Gazer’s response made my eyes widen, he was annoyed with the lawyer.
“Mr. Gazer.” The Clerk scolded him, he took a deep breath and then looked somewhere.
“I’m not sorry.” He said that made me laugh.
At any rate, Gazer is warm and picky when it comes to other people. He treats me and the people he knows differently, something I’m thankful for because Gazer won’t block me in case.
“Mr. Gazer, for the last question, Where is the doctor you say helped you before?” The lawyer asked Gazer, I noticed that he was suddenly stunned again and he suddenly blushed, something that I know the lawyer in front of him now also noticed.
“Mr. Gazer?” The lawyer asked Gazer, Gazer’s eyes suddenly became restless, he looked everywhere and looked away.
“I-I don’t know anymore,” Gazer answered, a long silence enveloped the room where we were, I noticed that Gazer stared at Damon and swallowed.
The lawyer facing Gazer nodded then looked at the judge.
“Thank you. I have no further questions.” Said the other side’s lawyer then returned to his seat.
“Does the defense wish to ask any questions?” The Judge asked Atty. Mielda.
“Yes, your Honor.” Answered by Atty. Then he stood up from his seat and went in front of Gazer who was still blushing.
“Mr. Gazer, good day to you. Based on what you said earlier, you and Damon are siblings right?” Atty asked. Mielda to Gazer, Gazer nodded in response. Atty read something in the paper. Mielda then looked at Gazer again.
“And you notice that there is a change in your friend like a change in his personality, right?” Atty asked. Mielda. Gazer nodded again as an answer.
“Based on the information I gathered, Hazel Ann Sumoba is the name of Damon’s former doctor and the doctor who helped you, correct?” Atty asked. Mielda to Gazer, Gazer swallowed then nodded again.
“According to the lab results and tests are done by Doc. Hazel on Damon, it appears that there are twelve alters in Damon’s body, including Chai and Achaz who were controlling Damon’s body when the crime took place.” by Atty. Mielda handed a piece of paper to the judge.
“Also based on a video recorded when Damon was fourteen years old, Damon insisted on removing the alters that were on his body,” said Atty. Mielda, I swallowed hard and looked at Damon.
I know for myself that Damon is not the host in that body but Chai who has a mental problem, but because those of us who are close to Damon want him to be free, we have to release Damon as the Host so that that way Damon’s case can be dismissed and he can focus on getting treatment.
“Mr. Gazer, have you met Chai yet?” Atty asked. Mielda to Gazer.
“Yes, when we were going to make him drink medicine, but he rushed at me and almost hurt me, luckily there was a guard,” Gazer answered, Atty appeared again. Mielda to the Judge.
“Your Honor, Chai is a violent Alter, Achaz is a warm and passionate Alter, based on my studies as a psychologist, Damon will not be hurt, he has Multiple Personality Disorder and I took a video of when Damon changes his personality while I was talking to him before.” Said Atty. Mielda.
“Permission to play the video, your Honor.” Said Atty. Mielda, the judge nodded and that’s why Atty. Mielda took the USB from her pocket and plugged it into a laptop connected to a projector.
