Erelah POV
The surroundings were quiet and I could feel the eyes of the people inside the court watching me go to the witness stand. My eyes caught Damon and his still cold aura. I took a deep breath when I stood on the witness stand and like the previous witness, the clerk approached me.
“Raise your right hand. Do you promise that the testimony you shall give in the case before this court shall be the truth, the whole truth, and nothing but the truth, so help you, God?” It asked me.
“I do,” I said without hesitation.
“Please state your first and last name.” The clerk told me again.
“Hey Donovan,” I answered, after that the clerk made me sit down, and then the lawyer of the other side came over. I swallowed first and looked for a moment at Damon’s emotionless behavior while looking at me. I again focused my attention on the lawyer speaking.
“Ms. Erelah, what is your job?” It asked me.
“Cashier at a coffee shop.” My answer.
“Based on the record given to me, you said you worked as Damon’s assistant?” He asked so I looked at Damon again then looked at the lawyer again.
“Yes.” My answer.
“Is this voluntary or did you apply to him yourself?” It asked me.
“Volunteer.” My answer.
“Can you explain why you volunteered to work with Damon as an assistant?” It asked me.
I remembered the past again while looking at the lawyer.
“Because of those times, he couldn’t move alone. He had a wound on his arm that made him unable to do housework, that’s why I volunteered to come in as his assistant.” I said, remembering again what Gazer had told me that Damon was the reason my late father got justice for his death.
“Wound on his arm? can you tell me the reason why there is a wound on his arm?” The lawyer asked. I looked at Damon and Gazer then looked at the lawyer.
“He was shot by the men who killed my father,” I answered, the whole courtroom was silent, I saw that the lawyer was taking down notes then he looked at me again.
“Why was he shot?” This is a question.
“Because he reported the boys to the police,” I answered, I noticed that Gazer had washed his face so I looked at him.
“Who are those men?” The lawyer asked me.
“The one who shot my father, Mayor Donovan.” My answer. The courtroom fell silent again and the lawyer wrote on his paper again.
“How did Damon know those guys shot your father?” The lawyer asked me, I suddenly became silent and looked at Damon’s behavior without any trace of emotion.
I don’t know how Damon knew that they were the ones who shot my father, when Gazer told me the reason why Damon was shot I immediately believed because I was pursuing justice for my father’s death, I never knew how Damon knew those men killed my father.
“I do not know.” I gave a weak answer because the surrounding became silent again, I swallowed and clenched my fist.
“You don’t know how Damon knew those men shot your father? Then how come you said Damon was shot for reporting the men who shot your father?” The lawyer asked me so I looked at Gazer.
“Gazer told me,” I said so everyone looked at Gazer who was now looking at me with no emotion.
I don’t know, but why do I feel this way? Why do I think what the lawyer talking to me said was wrong?
“Thank you, I have no further questions.” Said the lawyer who was talking to me then sat down in his chair and whispered something to the person next to him.
“Does the defense have any questions?” The Judge asked Damon’s lawyer.
“Yes, your Honor.” He answered and stood up from his seat, Atty smiled at me. Mielda is the lawyer Draco hired for Damon.
“Ms. Erelah, good afternoon.” He greeted then looked at his paper. ” Based on what you said earlier, you volunteered to work with Damon as a helper because you felt sorry for Damon because he had a wound on his arm that made him unable to do housework, correct?” This is a question.
“Yes,” I answered.
“Did you do this to thank Damon for bringing justice to your father’s death?” This is a question.
“Yes.” My answer.
“During the times you shared the same roof with Damon, did you notice anything different about him?” It asked me.
“Yes.’ My answer.
“Can you tell me what you notice about him?” This is a question.
“The first day I started working with him after I told him that I would come in as his assistant unwillingly and He wanted to say goodbye that he was going up to his room, before that he ordered me to make his coffee.” I laughed as I remembered how annoyed he was with me before.
“While he was in his room, I cooked lunch so he could eat, but I was about to finish when I saw him coming downstairs, I called him to drink his coffee but suddenly he asked who I was and where he was. At first, I thought he was just joking, but when he said his name was Achaz and not Damon I was stunned.” I said, I saw that Atty nodded. Mielda.
“I thought he was just joking, so I bought into his joke and said I was his girlfriend, but when Gazer non came to the house, I was surprised when he called Gazer ‘insan’ even though they were just friends,” I said.
“Your Honor, based on what Ms. Erelah said, Damon had another personality that day, an event that only happens to people with multiple personality disorder. I have here a lab result and the results of some medical papers of my client to prove that Damon has Multiple Personality Disorder, a mental disorder in which a person has two or more personalities and that the Achaz that Ms. Erelah mentioned earlier is one of the alters of Mr. . Damon.” Said Atty. Mielda handed a folder with thick paper in it to the judge.
The court was silent so I looked at Damon who still had no emotion.
“Who are Gazer and Havacco?” The Judge asked Atty. Mielda.
“Youths and friends of Damon your Honor.” Answered by Atty. Mielda.
“Can they speak here in front to prove that what is written on this paper is true?” The Judge asked.
“Yes, your Honor.” Said Atty. Mielda then looked at Gazer.
I stood up from the witness stand and then walked to my seat, before I got to my seat I glanced at Damon from the side and smiled at him then continued walking towards my seat.
When I sat down, I saw Gazer standing on the witness stand and the clerk was talking to him.
Gazer is the next witness to speak to prove that Damon is sick and that he was not the one who did it.
