Everett’s pov
A knock on my office door made me look up from the paperwork I was supposed to be doing but couldn’t because I had too many things on my mind. Rachelle, stood at the threshold, poking just her head through the slightly opened door while the remaining of her body stayed outside.
“He looks so sexy wearing glasses” I heard our thoughts through our bond. Even though I haven’t marked her, the traditional way, our mate bond was strong enough to communicate if we are close enough.
“Thank you. And you look extremely sexy in those booty shorts of yours” Her cheeks went aflame with hues of bright colors while her mouth stayed open for a while in a how-did-you-fucking-heard kind of way. “Mate bond” I simply replied before going back to what I was doing.
She nodded and walked closer to me and sat on my lap. Her Auburn-colored hair was tied up into a loosened ‘ ponytail. She suddenly turned to do that she was straddling me, her neck buried in the crook of my neck and her leg at either side. I used her current position to my advantage and pulled out her scrunchie from her hair so that it fell down in its natural thick waves. She removed her head from its position at the crook and looked at me, her blush deepening.
“You are so stubborn. I told you to stop untying my hair whenever I have it tied up… why do you always untie it?” She gently scolded with a hint of amusement in her voice and a fine ass pout that I couldn’t resist the urge to kiss her.
“You are so stubborn. I told you to stop tying your hair. Always let it flow along your back or frame your face…. why do you always tie it up” I said, in the same manner, she had earlier spoken with and she did a replica of my act and kisses me on the lips.
“Such a grump” she snared after I frowned at my failed attempt to deepen our kiss.
“What are you doing? Why are there so many papers ok on your desk?” She asked pointing at the stack of papers and litter folders on my table.
“Just some pack work and a little of business work as well. Nothing to worry about. I just need to sign a few papers then go through the rest” I run my hand through her sleek hair. I couldn’t help but wrap my finger around a portion of it. “I should be done soon”
I felt her heart go up in an argument in her head but she wouldn’t let it out. “Let it out already, pretty. What’s the issue?”
“I’m scared” she blurted and I quickly shove her head from my shoulder to look at her.
“Who fucking touched you? What happened? why are you scared?” I asked frantically. Scanning her body and mind for any form of threat.
“You touched me” she answered slowly “you happened” she added. “I’m scared of you,” she said almost in a whisper but I heard nonetheless.
I almost peed in my pants at her declaration. That was the reason why she was scared.
“I’m sorry, Rachelle. I didn’t mean to scare you” I said looking directly into her eyes.
“It’s too late for that now Everett, I’m calling our bond. I want to reject you” her voice was tiny but there was an edge of seriousness in her voice and as she spoke, neither her heart nor her voice quivered.
“Rachelle….”
“I’m sorry, Everett, but I cannot continue to leave in this fear,” she said and was about to climb down from my lap but I held her still.
“No, you can’t… you can’t fucking leave me” I spat out, pressing her deeper into my body for some sort of compulsion. “Forgive me, Rachelle….” My voice sounded like I was going to cry. That is if the tears hadn’t dropped.
I held on to her, not willing to let her go as my body shook in all the worst ways you can Think of. I felt her body vibrate against me as well which was followed by what sounded like a hiccup. I raised my head to look at her and I saw her laughing.
Like real-time cracking her ass off. And her laugh that usually sounded like music to my ears suddenly wasn’t as appealing as it used to be.
“I’m so sorry… I was only jo-king “she said amidst laughter. “Damn! Did you fucking see your face?”
“It’s not funny Rachelle, don’t ever do that to me again,” I said sternly.
“I know… I know. I’m sorry” she said running her thumb across my cheek. “I’m stuck with you for life. I thought you already know that”
“Well, damn! I sensed that you were troubled and then I asked and…and…and” I stuttered like a child learning how to talk. “Don’t fucking play with me like that ever again?”
“I’m sorry Everett. That was immature of me. I shouldn’t have joked with a thing like that”
“Amongst all the things I told you not to be not to ever think low or speak low of yourself. I won’t tolerate anyone disrespecting you. Not even if you were you disrespecting yourself”
“What did you plan on doing to whoever disrespected me?”
“I would punish them so hard they would regret being born. Nobody disrespect my mate”
“So you would punish me then?”
“Yes”
“How would you punish me?”
“I’d have your hands tied above your head, while I have you laid on my bed. at the same time, I’d have your leg spread out to the edge of my bed, and then I’d bind it to the bar and fuck you until you have no moan to let out” I blurted without breaking eye contact.
Her face heated up and I felt her breath pace up as she stare at me. She chewed on her bottom lip much to my dismay but spoke before me.
“When do I get punished?” Her voice suddenly turned sultrier and her lips somehow more tantalizing as she continued to chew on it.
“Let’s go have dinner. Violet just mind-linked saying dinner is ready” I answered, completely ignoring her questions. She looked like she wanted to protest but nothing came out of her mouth.
“I thought as much,” I said before helping her climb off my leg”
Rachelle’s pov
“Hello Alpha, I heard a unison of voices say together from behind us. I turned back and it was the new add-on to the pack. Hazel and Crew. They both matched forward with a contented smile at me and I smiled. “It is a nice start,” I said in my head.
“Yeah, they are nice” Everett whispered into my ears and smirked.
“I’s need to find a way to shut you out of my head” I retorted before going back to stuffing my plate with Rigatoni pasta, meatballs, and salad.
“Please, just call him Everett,” Theodore said rolling his eyes.
“Of course, we were only paying him some respect because of Rachelle,” Hazel said and I blushed. “How has the crescent moon pack been to you, Rachelle? Hope Theodore hadn’t been bothering with his ideas and very different contracting theories?”
“Oh, he didn’t change. Not even for Rachelle that was new. He almost scared her off and if not for the goddess’s intervention, he probably would have stolen her away from Everett by now”
“I suppose you are liking your stay in the packhouse?” Crew asked, helping me to a bowl of chicken I was about to reach for. “Let me,” he said before giving me the bowl of chicken. “Is there something else you want?” He asked and I just smiled before saying a no.
“Yeah, the packhouse is great and so are the people that live in it,” I said smiling at Theodore, Violet, and lastly at Everett.
“If there is any modification you’d like please let me know. I’ll make sure you live more comfortably than you’ve ever had now that I am here”
“I think she likes it just as it is. Everything is on order. She’s never complained about a thing thank you for asking and thinking about her you may now have your dinner without directing any of your conversations to her…. Thank you” Everett said almost aggressively and they all laughed. Which gave me an idea of what they were trying to do. They were going to make him act jealous in the presence of all of us.
“You guys are aware of how I begged Everett for a pack snack bar for more than a year?” Violet asked and all of the guys nodded theirs has in affirmative with the exception to Theodore.
“Yeah what about that?” Hazel asked.
“Rachelle only asked for a chocolate fudge once and instead of getting her the chocolate fudge, Everett erected one here in the pack!” Violet said.
“No fucking way” Hazel exclaimed.
“Yes way” Violet shouted.
“You mean you guys have a fucking chocolate bar and no one bothered to tell me?” Crew shouted, feigning pained.
“Of course, that is because you are not important” Violet snapped at Crew and he faked his countenance.
“Maybe not to you. I’m positive I’m important to Rachelle… right Rachelle?” Crew asked me.
“Of course sugar, you are” I replied to Crew which made Everett send daggers his way. All of us in the table busted out laughing uncontrollably. Like for real you needed to see the anger on Everett’s face.
Yes, I had my fun but it was short lived when Everett angrily stood up from the dinner table without touching his food or telling anybody where he was going or why he abruptly stood up, not like we couldn’t read the writings on the wall, though.
“You all continue with your dinner. I’ll go get him” Hazel said before excusing herself from the dining room and walked through where Everett had followed.
Shortly after, the duo that had left us came back and took their respective seats. I tried to get Everett to look at me, but no matter how I tried he wouldn’t and do I do what I know how to do best.
Fake cried!
“Oh my goodness, Ash. You made her cry” Violet blurted and ran to my side of the table. “Yeah right, these are goddamn real tears, Ash”
“Go ahead and apologize to her. You shouldn’t make a girl cry” Theodore snarled. “Right this second” Theodore growled ferociously making Everett looked at him with a huff.
“She’s faking it” he said and I instantly landed in a fit of hiccups. “I’d know if she was crying. We are mates for a reason, after all”
Goddamn this mate bond.
“We all know she was fake crying why would you go ahead and spoil the whole thing” Theodore said and flickered his finger on Everett’s forehead.
I turned to my gaze to look at Everett one more time but his stance was still broque. “A-sher” I purred like a year old kid that was learning how to call the name. “I’m sorry” I said this time making my puppy face and a small pout and he eventually cracked.
“Yeay…. finally” the others chorused as they bang the table and made other happy noises.
“I’ll accept your apology in one condition” Everett said and smirked. Without saying the word, I already know what he wanted so I leaned closer to him, wrapped my hand over his neck and kissed him.
“Oh, I hate couples” Theodore said and we laughed.
“No. You are just jealous of them” Violet chirped.
“Oh trust me I have to reason to jealous them” Theodore said with a wink.
The rest of dinner passed like that-lauging and cracking jokes for every bite we took. Before we all went back to our individual rooms, Hazel and Crew told me to get ready as our session starts the next day. Although I was scared for what the outcome might be, the reassuring smile Everett sent me was enough to flush my anxiety away.
