“How long has it been since you last had relations?” Jennifer asked. She needed to know more details.
“He doesn’t come to me on a fixed schedule. The last time he sought me out was three months ago,” Shirley replied.
Three months ago, before Emma arrived at the Silver Moon Pack.
Jennifer furrowed her brow at this.
But it’s still possible, she thought. They just need to create a momentary illusion. As long as that moment can make Patrick believe Shirley is pregnant, then this plan can succeed.
She understood her son. Patrick would surely take responsibility; he would choose Shirley as his partner.
“Although I’m not entirely sure, if you can seize the chance to make him believe you’re pregnant, he’ll immediately choose you as his partner,” Jennifer felt confident in the success of this method, which gave her a premature sense of joy, the joy of driving Emma away.
But this proposal caused Shirley to frown.
“He will quickly uncover my lie. My hormones and scent haven’t changed. And it’s been too long since we had relations; I don’t think this method will work,” she said.
Jennifer sighed, trying to suppress her anger. Shirley needed a lot of guidance, and she hoped she’d get on track soon.
“That’s not the most important thing. Emma isn’t of age yet, and Patrick still needs someone to mitigate his strong pheromones. He still needs you. As long as there is the next time, you will definitely be able to get pregnant smoothly,” she said.
“Are you sure this will work? I don’t have much confidence in Patrick,” she asked.
“It’s okay,” Jennifer said confidently. She was confident in handling her son. “He will seek you out again. Even if there isn’t a next time, I will create an opportunity for you.”
Shirley nodded with a smile. “I’m in. I believe Patrick will be mine.”
Jennifer nodded gently at her. “I need you to find opportunities as soon as possible. If you encounter any difficulties, tell me, and I will help you. I know we still have a lot of time before she comes of age, but I’ve become increasingly intolerable of her presence lately. You need to drive her away for me.”
Emma looked exactly like her mother, Jennifer had seen photos of Amy stored in Nelson’s phone, and Amy looked beautiful, full of wildness. Nelson always looked at those photos with a nostalgic look, which frightened her. Emma looked so much like her, and she was afraid that when Nelson looked at Emma, he would unconsciously miss her mother.
She couldn’t bear the thought of her partner having a deceased woman in his heart.
“I will talk to him today,” Shirley said. “I promise you that little wench will never have him.”
“That would be for the best,” Jennifer smiled. “It’s the best choice for Patrick; he will understand.”
That little wench Emma would never get Patrick, she wouldn’t let her become like her mother. Never.
Soon, Emma noticed something new happening in the castle. For example, there was a strikingly beautiful woman who appeared, she seemed to be in her twenties, had a hot figure, and dressed provocatively. Emma involuntarily looked at herself, tall but flat. She sighed and comforted herself, “It’s okay, I just haven’t developed yet.”
But her gaze still unconsciously followed the woman.
Soon, she no longer had the heart to pay attention to the woman’s figure. She discovered that the woman had come to see Patrick. She was affectionately linking arms with Patrick, too far away for her to observe closely; it would seem impolite to get too close. She could only get a rough idea, she didn’t know the exact expression on Patrick’s face.
She was very curious, almost agonizingly so. She hoped Patrick would show impatience or push her away, but Patrick showed no signs of refusal. This made her uncomfortable.
Coincidentally, May walked over with a tray, seeing Emma’s gaze, she followed the direction and suddenly realized, “That’s Shirley, the alpha’s former partner.”
“Partner?” Emma was shocked. “He said he didn’t have a partner!”
May’s smile was somewhat knowing.
Emma quickly realized what she had said. “I’m sorry, I crossed a line I shouldn’t have, I apologize.”
May shrugged, “Strictly speaking, I’m not a member of the royal family, so you don’t need to apologize to me. And he indeed doesn’t have a partner. What I meant was, a destined partner. So I just said she was his former partner, but not his Luna.”
This confused Emma. “I don’t understand what you mean. You said she is his former partner, but not Luna?”
May explained simply, “The alpha regularly accumulates very strong pheromones. If these pheromones are not mitigated, itcan be very dangerous. Besides harming the alpha’s body, it can make him irritable and even lead to a loss of clarity. He once experienced a similar event, and it was very frightening.”
Emma listened in a daze.
“That was when he had just come of age; he was completely ignorant about these matters. Each time the pheromones overflow, it’s his mating period, and he refuses to seek help from others, thinking he can tough it out on his own. As a result, the accumulated pheromones eroded his brain.”
“Was he in danger?” Emma asked, worried.
May shook her head. “Fortunately, someone discovered him in time. He didn’t cause a major disruption, nor did he suffer any irreversible damage. But since then, Jennifer has enforced finding a partner to mitigate his pheromones.”
Emma’s mind briefly knotted.
“A partner specifically for pheromone mitigation… You mean?”
“A sexual partner.”
She was so straightforward, it left Emma blushing and exclaiming softly, “Oh!”
May found her innocence amusing and chuckled, “It’s okay, you’ll learn all this when you come of age.”
Emma didn’t want to know these things at all; she was not particularly bold, and even considered herself reserved and quiet. She was afraid of anything unknown that made her uneasy, and sex and partners were among those things.
But right now, she really wanted to know what expression Patrick had on his face.
“Are they close?” she asked. “Does Patrick often sleep with her? Does Patrick like her? Will they end up together? Will Patrick want to mark her? Will she eventually become the Luna here?”
She asked her questions hurriedly, almost in a panic, leaving May struggling to keep up.
“Hey, young lady,” May interrupted in time. “I’m not a search engine; I can’t answer all your questions at once. Even if I were, you’d have to input one question at a time, right?”
Emma pouted, looking somewhat aggrieved. “I’m sorry. I didn’t mean to.”
May sighed; she didn’t have a sister, only a somewhat clumsy and unattractive brother, and this obedient, puppy-like girl made her want to protect her.
“It’s okay; you can ask slowly,” she said gently. “As long as I know, I can tell you everything.”
