KIARA’S POV:
I sat up, cracking my neck and wringing my hands as my golden eyes peered over the room, running over the two in the corner and the two beside me.
It seems they haven’t noticed… that I have gained full control of the human.
I told her that mate was in danger, and she trusted me so easily that she even gave up her body. Well technically, I might be completely right.
My first lie, is it? No, all that shit I said about Lucas being a ‘natural’ was totally bullshit as well. Again, this might also be completely true, but I know nothing of it.
The human is really pathetic after all, I think we’ll like each other. Just look how obedient she got?
Ha!
Now…I think we’ve been sitting around for far too long. It’s time, I joined the war like I promised, yes? I’m like a newborn pup, I crave the thrill of battle and the taste of the enemy’s blood. Being caved inside this human and unable to stretch my limbs was utterly boring, suffocating even. A wolf should never live like that.
But it seems I’ve been blessed tonight…there are possibly still dozens of wolves to kill…and I would like to do the honors. I’m getting excited just thinking about stepping a foot outside.
“Y-Your eyes…”
I dropped the smirk that had grown on my lips and darted my eyes over to the wary humans in the corner, scowling in irritation.
These two… are the supposed ‘family’? I’ve been told not to hurt them, yeah?
Well then, I guess this is my cue to get out of here.
“I’m going to mate…the human’s orders.” I told them calmly, pushing myself up with my hands and standing to my feet.
They looked at me as if I had grown two horns, clear disapproval displayed on their faces which I totally ignored–. I grabbed the human’s gun from the floor, examining it slowly before tossing it aside. I can’t use that.
“I promised not to hurt you people. But follow me out and I’ll have to do a little damage.” I stepped off, moving towards the half-broken door, but the second my fingers wrapped around the knob, the one named ‘Jace’ spoke.
“The Alpha said not to let you out.”
I turned to look at him, my veins rising on my arms as I glared at him, “So? You going to stop me?”
“You are readying to fight, and I have no intention of fighting you, so no. But you should be careful, you have no experience as a wolf.”
I scowled. Who the hell does he think I am?
Clicking my tongue, I kicked the door off it’s hinges and stepped outside, feeling my annoyance evaporate the moment the night air met my skin and my golden orbs laid upon the heaps of bodies sprawled out before me. I tucked my hair behind my ear and gazed through the spreading darkness, watching as crimson flowed from their wounds and pooled beneath them.
This…bloodshed…is the thrill I long for. It’s getting pretty dark now, still the perfect time for battle.
Grinning from ear to ear, I channeled my strength to my limbs and took off for the woods, whilst the sharp cries of the wolves on the battlefield echoed through the wild. I kept my movements light and my breathing almost nonexistent as I moved, knowing it would be annoying if they were to notice my presence before I was even close.
On the way, I passed a heap of steel about half the length of my figure. Thinking I might just need a few, I took three, one in one hand and two in the other. When I neared the edge of the woods, I slowed my legs down to a jog then to a simple walk, one foot after the other. In moments, I could see the battle from a distance and in that instance, my chest pumped faster.
I halted, cocking my hip and tilting my head as I searched the woods for two specific faces. I found Lucas first, and to the left a few wolves were bundled together, I suppose mate is somewhere in the center of all that chaos. I can smell him.
Lucas was the farthest away, at the far back of the battle. His opponents were more than five full grown wolves, larger than his own size. He seems to be using his speed to his advantage, and moving in quick to finish his targets one by one before they could make a solid hit. He was cracking necks on rapid and sinking his bloody claws into their flesh, but it wasn’t a surprise when I spotted a cowardly wolf sneak up from behind, knocking him to the floor with it’s legs. Lucas reacted almost immediately, spinning around just as the wolf lunged for his neck and slamming his right foot into it’s side, sending it flying with a loud cry. He didn’t give it any time to get to it’s feet and swiftly climbed on top of it, his claws slashing across it’s belly then mercilessly sinking into it’s neck on both sides.
Looking like a madman on a rampage with blood spurted across his face and dripping down his chin, Lucas raised his golden eyes, growling as he searched through the trees for his next incoming opponent.
That was when his gaze swept across and settled on my figure. His eyes widened immediately and he stiffened, panic devouring his face. That mere hitch to his movements gave the enemy countless openings and before he could fix that mistake, in one swift movement, claws had already sunk into his back and his body slammed against the forest floor, a drooling wolf lunging on top of him.
Tsk. He’s sloppy. But that’s to be expected since he’s most certainly worn out. He’s no longer in his wolf form either, so that said it all.
Still, this number is a bit worse than I thought and I can see myself struggling later on as well, but I’m not one to back down.
We…
…never walk away from a fight.
Taking a deep breath, I pushed one foot ahead of the other and slanted my figure, then I held the steel above my shoulder and tightened my grip, preparing to launch. Without holding back, I sent it flying in the direction of the wolf snapping its jaws on top of Lucas, grinning when it pierced right through its head. On spot!
Over a dozen eyes fell to my figure in an instant, and my excitement could only grow with all the attention.
“Who the fuck!?”
My gaze darted to the man who had spoken, as he whipped around to glare at me. Nate, is it?
Once his eyes made contact with mine, his expression visibly found ease and he grinned. It appears he thinks nothing of my presence, which is understandable since the human doesn’t leave much of a mark. Tsk.
This guy in particular was far away from the battle and closer to me, like a spineless spectator. He had two wolves at his side, both reaching his own height. They bared their teeth at me, snarling as if daring me to take a step closer.
His hands settled atop their heads, gripping the fur tight in his grasp before pulling them down to his lips, whispering, “…She is not to be harmed.”
He’s their leader, the one who kidnapped and dared to hurt the human. I must kill him by my own hand or I will not be satisfied with this battle…
