I got up early as usual and did my exercise routine in my own gym.
I was disappointed when Chloe declined my lunch invitation but I won’t give up again today.
After my exercise I took a shower and went to my kitchen to prepare my breakfast.
I made pancakes and cooked bacon with matching coffee.
I had my breakfast peacefully. But I am excited to see her later even though it will be in our business meeting.
I asked Alex that the receptionist must inform her to go directly to my office before coming to the conference room.
After I dressed up my self I went down and Alex was already waiting for me in the living room.
“Good morning sir Denyx.”
“Good morning Alex. Let’s go.”
He drove us to the Moore Company where I am currently working on.
There are so many things to sort out because after my step father Mike Cameron took over the company. There was some huge transactions that the company haven’t noticed.
I doubt that there was an illegal action in my Dad’s company after he took over to it.
The company almost went bankrupt again.
I have to save it using my own fund for the sake of my father.
He worked hard for this company and I won’t let my step father just ruined it.
He stepped down for being CEO when I took over the family business.
Besides I am the legal beneficiary of our business not him nor his son.
My AML company is growing fast while the Moore corporation is about to crash. So I invested a major share again.
But the investigation is going on. Once I prove that something fishy in their management I won’t hesitate to kick them out.
Soon we arrived at Moore building.
I went straight to my office with Alex.
“Alex, investigate this document for me. I found out that this was a contract twenty years ago between the Mc Len Company and Moore Corporation. I found it in Mike’s box here. I hacked his password so I can see what was inside. He has a lot of suspicious activities in our company. ” I told him.
“There were few big cheques that was paid in the same person. If the Mc Len has a share with this company I need to know why uncle Arthur is not aware with it.”
” Sir this contract is signed by Miss Amy Mc Len. If it is legit it means that the Mc Len company long time ago has a share until now.”
” That’s why I want you to investigate more about this matter it’s very important. Find this person’s name on the cheque. The Mc Len Company was no longer exists after the death of Miss Amy Mc Len and Anna.”
” I need to know more information regarding this matter soon as possible.”
” Yes sir, I’ll investigate this matter. ”
” Ask Chloe to come in in my office once she arrive. ”
” Okay sir. ”
I nodded my head and Alex left. I was in a deep thoughts. I can’t believe that Mc Len and Moore was actually a business partner and I have no idea about it.
I need to contact uncle Arthur. I need to find him where does he live now? I have to ask him about the things happened 20 years ago.
I felt guilty without knowing that Moore was taking advantage the death of Mrs. Amy Mc Len the company is actually stealing the money of Mc Len company.
I definitely needs to do something about it. Even Mrs. Amy and Anna were dead I need to return to uncle Arthur what is belong to him and his family.
Now my suspect about Mike is getting more intense.
I know he is doing wrong all these years but because of my mother’s happiness I tried to ignored it.
What I found out today won’t justify his wrong action.
He needs to pay what he did to Mc Len family. My father would definitely not going to tolerate this if he is still alive.
He taught me to be an honest person and never take advantage your position to overpower somebody.
“I can’t believe of what I discovered. So there’s a tendency that Mrs. Mc Len and Anna’s death has to do with this contract?” I asked myself.
I took a deep breath, I need to investigate soon as possible.
Then I heard a knocked on the door
” Come in please.” I said.
The heard the door knob twitched and the door was pushed open.
“Good morning Mr. Moore.”
I looked at the door and I saw Chloe standing. I gave her a warm smile and our eyes locked. My heart started to race inside my chest that impossible to control.
Everytime my grey eyes meet her blue eyes my heart beat is racing .
The feeling that I can’t explain and understand. She raised her eyebrows and broke our gazes.
I then spoke
“Good morning Chloe, come in please and have a sit.” And she said.
” Thank you Denyx.”
She sat on the couch to make herself comfortable.
” Do you want anything to drink I can offer?” i asked her
” I’m good thanks. The meeting is about to start.” She responded
” Just give me two minutes to finish these documents then we’ll go ahead to conference room.” I told her
She shrugged her shoulder and said ” Okay, no problem.”
While I am on documents her eyes wondered around my office. I glanced at her when she wasn’t looking.
I cough…
“Ahemmmm… Chloe are you alright? You’re zoning
” Yeah, I’m good. I just remembered something.”
” You sure? You can tell me anything if I can help.”
” Thanks Denyx but I’m really good.”
” Then let’s go to the conference room.”
We stood up and walked to the conference room. I was walking in front of her and she followed me behind.
I pressed the lift and we entered quietly. I can feel the tense between us too. But no one dared to break the silence between us.
When the lift open I signal my hand to let her come first. I guided her going to the conference room and soon enough I pushed the door open.
Everyone was staring at us because everyone are waiting for us. I heard them all greeted us good morning.
I raised my hand to signal for them to sit down.
“Have a seat Miss Mack.”
While pulling the chair for her to sit down. I sat next to her too. And the meeting started.
” As you all know the Moor Corporation is part of the housing projects of Johnson Company. I would like to introduce to all of you the project in charge of this project.”
I informed her.
” Miss Chloe Mack. I want you all to give her respect and provide any information she needed in the future.”
She froze and seemed shocked of my introduction but I pressed her hands under the table that was on her lap.
She stood up pulling her hand and hopefully no one notice what I did. She gave everyone a warm smile.
“Thank you Mr. Moore and I am looking forward to work with you all. This project is important to us and you’re investment is going to be part of our success in the future.” Everyone clapped their hands when she finished talking.
This company was supposed to be her mom too.
But then after her mom’s death no one dare to recognize their family share.
That’s she doesn’t know and I can’t tell her now about this because I need to find out the truth what happened back then.
The meeting soon finished and everyone started to leave.
Only me and her are left in the conference room while she was zoning out.
” Hmmm Chloe sorry about while ago when I hold your hand you seemed out of your focus so I touched your hand.”
I explained when I looked at her
“Oh, thank you for that. You don’t have to be sorry, it was nice you helped me.”
“You sure with that?”
“Yes, I am.”
“So are you still available for lunch?”
“Sorry Denyx I have to leave and go back to the office I got a lot of work to do. I still have another meeting to attend.”
“Yeah, I understood.”
“How about another day?”
” Let’s see about that.”
“I hope you won’t decline my invitation next time?”
“Surely I won’t. I am just busy this week as you see Johnson’s company is expanding their business here and Mr. Johnson has a lot of works to hand over to my shoulder.”
“I get it, but I hope on Saturday night you’ll be free?”
“Saturday night, I think would be fine.”
” Really?” My eyes sparkles with excitement. She shrugged her shoulder with a smile on her face.
“Yes.”
“I’ll pick you up at six o’clock?”
“Okay.”
But before I can say anything the conference room door was pushed open and the figure I don’t expect at this time came in. Elle Hopes my childhood friend who is in love with me but all I have is friendship with her. She walked straight to me and snaked her hands around my neck.
“Hi baby, you didn’t call me since two days. I came to have lunch with you.” Chloe rolled her eyes when I looked her while watching Elle. My face suddenly turned dark of anger because I don’t like what Elle’s doing right now.
“What are you doing here Elle?” Taking off her hands on my neck.
“I came to see you.”
“Don’t you see I’m busy?”
“I don’t think you’re busy! Only you and this woman are here in this conference room.”
“The meeting was over so what’s the matter with that?” I said.
And she coughed to remind her presence.
” Ahhem… Excuse me Mr. Moore I think I should go ahead. We’re done with our meeting for now so I won’t keep my self stay longer. By the way, I won’t be there at the site today and tomorrow so I’ll give you the report development next week.”
She picked up her things on the table and left.
Before I could react she left the room. I am so angry with Elle and pulled her hands off on my neck and pushed her away from me.
“How dare you do this in front of somebody when I am with the meeting
Elle?”
I glared my furious eyes to her.
” Relax babe! What’s wrong with that? You know our parents soon want us to be engage right?”
” Enough Elle! Yes, you’re my friend but I won’t agree with that engagement you know that.”
” Oh! so now you’re talking to me like this because of that woman Chloe huh?”
” Don’t you ever include her with this conversation because she has nothing to do with this about your careless acts.” I shouted at her.
“Leave now because I won’t going to have lunch with you. ”
Pointing the door to leave, for the first time I raised my voice to her since we were young. But she’s expecting to much.
“Fine! But we are not done yet Denyx.”
She scowled while walking out from the room.
