My dad was right I need to be in a relationship soon otherwise I can’t give him a grand children he wishes. I sighed and Denyx face appeared in my mind.
“Oh no! Definitely not him.”
I shook my head. I can’t ruin my plan.
If I get solid evidence that Moore has something to do with my mom’s death I can’t forgive them.
I surely hate them. Mr. Grey waken me up from my deep thoughts
“Miss Chloe we’re here.”
“Oh, thank you Mr. Grey. I’ll call you when I’m done.”
He opened the door for me and I came down from the car.
I stood up and brushes my dress with my hands to make it straight.
I walked to the entrance of Moore building and the security guard open the door for me.
The receptionist smiled and informed me.
“Miss Chloe Mack our CEO is expecting you to his office before proceeding to the conference room.”
I smiled back and nodded my head and she pressed the lift button and wanted to send me up but I stopped her.
“I’ll go alone don’t worry.”
“If that’s what you want Miss no problem.”
She pressed the lift button going to Denyx office floor.
“Thank you!” I told her
“You’re welcome Miss. Mack.”
The lift closed and I closed my eyes. I have to hold my emotion everytime I come to this place.
My instinct tells me that I have an information to get soon in this place.
“Soon Chloe soon once you get his trust you can find an evidence to this place.”
I told my self. The elevator door was opened and I calm my self.
Walking out from the lift. Alex saw me and looked in my direction and I gave him a warm smile. He stood up and walked toward me.
“Good morning Miss. Mack”
“Good morning Mr. Alex”
“Just call me Alex please. Sir is expecting you in his office.”
” Thank you Alex. I’ll go ahead then.”
I walked to his office and knocked on the door. I heard him saying
” Come in please.”
I twitched the door knob and pushed the door.
“Good morning Mr. Moore.” Looking at him sitting on his office chair behind his office table.
He looked at me with his warm smile and our eyes locked. My heart started to race again inside my chest.
Everytime my blue eyes meet his grey eyes my heart is awaken. The feeling that I can’t explain that never in my entire life happen.
I raised my eyebrows to give him a signal to break our gaze. He then spoke
“Good morning Chloe, come in please and have a sit.”
” Thank you Denyx.”
I sat on the couch to make my self comfortable.
I don’t know how to flirt but if I needed to do it to get his attention then I don’t have a choice.
” Do you want anything to drink I can offer?”
” I’m good thanks. The meeting is about to start.”
” Just give me two minutes to finish these documents then we’ll go ahead to conference room.”
I shrugged my shoulder and said ” Okay, no problem.”
While he is on his documents my eyes wondered around his office.
Surely enough I saw a safety box at the corner next to the bookshelves.
May be that box contains some important documents that this company was hiding long time ago.
My dad told me that there was a contract before with my mom’s share in this Company before she died.
But my dad has no interest anymore as he needs to make sure I will be away from the people who wanted us dead.
I heard him cough…
“Ahemmmm… Chloe are you alright? You’re zoning
” Yeah, I’m good. I just remembered something.”
” You sure? You can tell me anything if I can help.”
” Thanks Denyx but I’m really good.”
” Then let’s go to the conference room.”
We stood up and walked to the conference room.
He is walking in front of me and I followed him behind.
He pressed the lift and we entered quietly. I can feel the tense between us. But no one dared to break the silence.
When the lift open he signal his hand to let me come first.
He guided me going to the conference room and he pushed the door open.
Everyone was staring at us because everyone are waiting for us.
I heard them all greeted us good morning.
Denyx raised his hand to signal for them to sit down.
“Have a seat Miss Mack.”
While pulling the chair for me to sit down. He sat next to me too. And the meeting started.
” As you all know the Moor Corporation is part of the housing projects of Johnson Company. I would like to introduce to all of you the project in charge of this project. Miss Chloe Mack. I want you all to give her respect and provide any information she needed in the future.”
I was shocked of his introduction but I returned to my senses when he pressed my hands under the table that was on my lap.
I stood up pulling my hand and hopefully no one notice what he did.
I gave everyone a warm smile.
“Thank you Mr. Moore and I am looking forward to work with you all.” I said.
“This project is very important to us and you’re investment is going to be part of our success in the future.” I explained further.
Everyone clapped their hands when I finish talking.
This company was supposed to be her mom too but then after her mom’s death no one dare to recognize their family share and that’s she’s going to dig in starting today.
She need them to trust her.
The meeting soon finished and everyone started to leave.
I realized only me and him left in the conference room while I was zoning out again.
” Hmmm Chloe sorry about while ago when I hold your hand you seemed out of your focus so I touched your hand.”
He explained when he looked at me.
“Oh, thank you for that. You don’t have to be sorry about that, it actually helped me.”
“You sure with that?”
“Yes, I am.”
“So are you still available for lunch?”
“Sorry Denyx I have to leave and go back to the office I got a lot of work to do. I still have another meeting to attend.”
“Yeah, I understood.”
“How about another day?”
” Let’s see about that.”
“I hope you won’t decline my invitation next time?”
“Surely I won’t. I am just busy this week as you see Johnson’s company is expanding their business here and Mr. Johnson has a lot of works to hand over to my shoulder.”
“I get it, but I hope on Saturday night you’ll be free?”
“Saturday night I think would be fine.”
” Really?” His eyes sparkles with excitement. I shrugged my shoulder with a smile on my face.
“Yes.”
“I’ll pick you up at six o’clock?”
“Okay.”
But before he can say anything the conference room door was pushed open and the figure I don’t wanna see appeared. Elle Hopes the woman who is in love with Denyx.
He walked straight to Denyx and snaked his hands around to his neck.
“Hi baby, you didn’t call me since two days. I came to have lunch with you.” I rolled my eyes when I saw her doing it in front of me. Denyx face suddenly turned dark.
“What are you doing here Elle?” Taking off her hands on his neck.
“I came to see you.”
“Don’t you see I’m busy?”
“I don’t think you’re busy! Only you and this woman are here in this conference room. “The meeting was over so what’s the matter with that?” Denyx said.
And I decided interrupt them. I cough.
” Ahhem… Excuse me Mr. Moore I think I should go ahead. We’re done with our meeting for now so I won’t keepy self stay longer. By the way, I won’t be there on the site today and tomorrow so I’ll give you the report development next week.”
I picked up my things on the table and left.
Before he could react I left the room. I hurriedly left the the conference room and called Mr. Grey to wait for me in the entrance door.
My heart is aching when I saw Elle snaked her hands on Denyx neck.
“Why should I be affected? It’s not my own business if those two are in a relationship.”
I told my self. I heard about them before coming to this place that they have a special relationship.
I won’t wonder if they have but the thought of it I felt uncomfortable in my heart.
Mr. Greg drove me back to the company and noticed my gloomy face.
” Are you alright Miss Chloe? ”
” Yes Mr. Greg I’m okay. ”
Trying to smile but it doesn’t reach in my heart.
” No, I’m not jealous, why should I? No, no, no, Chloe you can’t. Tell that to your self. ”
I shook my head to erase those thoughts I have. It is impossible.
I just meet him few days ago and this feeling is not gonna happen for me.
I forced my self again to think of my mission why I am here.
Even he has a girlfriend I don’t care I need to be close with him.
And that way I can get through with those documents inside the safety box.
I reached in Johnson building and went straight to my penthouse where Jerome and Katy are waiting for me.
When I opened the door two of them are chatting while sitting on their chairs next to the table.
“Sorry to keep you waiting guys.”
“How’s your meeting honey pie?”
“It was successful.” I smiled.
“Good Miss Chloe. Come let’s have a lunch.”
“I’m glad honey it turned great. You have the opportunity.”
” Yes, I’m glad too.” I put my bag on the Island counter and sat next to Katy and we started eating our lunch.
