Hazel felt uncomfortable because she wasn’t confident. To put it bluntly, Baron and her were just partners. Even though they did it yesterday, it was because of the pink medicine, and she couldn’t ask Baron to be responsible.
From the beginning, Baron didn’t owe her anything. Hazel offered to do it for the first time and was willing to do so. If Luke wanted to use such a cheap trick to distance her and Baron, Luke would be very silly.
“Baby, don’t be stubborn. You know better than me what it means to lose your virginity.”
Luke smiled and sat next to Hazel. “When you got up, Baron wasn’t here. Isn’t it convincing enough?”
If Baron was willing to take responsibility, how could he disappear without telling you?
“Enough!”
Only Hazel and Edie were on the beach. The trip to Hawaii was a last-minute plan. Hazel did not expect the Plum Blossom Organization to be so well-informed.
In Hazel’s eyes, Luke was so terrifying. Edie was just Hazel’s friend, and she did not want Edie to be implicated.
“I was just telling the truth.”
Luke shrugged and looked innocent. He looked at Hazel affectionately as if Hazel was the only one in the world.
“You are the only person in this world who can catch my eye, so I won’t harm you.”
Luke sighed in disappointment. He disobeyed the orders of the organization and appeared in Hawaii on his own. He especially came to Hazel just to take her away.
“Go with me. I will keep you safe. I have only one condition.”
In Luke’s eyes, Hazel wasn’t perfect anymore, so he had to fix it.
“A condition? To be a human specimen?”
Hazel seemed to have heard a big joke. She shamelessly hooked up with Baron just because of the pink medicine. It would change her body.
She would rather die than be controlled by Luke.
“You always got me wrong. Anyway, I will be there for you as long as you need me at any time.”
Luke stood up and looked affectionate. He turned around and wanted to leave.
But Hazel was furious at what he said. Need? Need a man? If that man was not Baron, she definitely wouldn’t do it.
So much uncertainty was what she feared most.
“Even if I needed a man, that person could only be Baron, not you.”
Hazel was merciless. If only she had learned how to shoot, she would have shot Luke first.
When she did the physical examination before, the pink medicine had not yet worked. Baron had planned and asked Roger to go abroad to find Leon, the genius who studied the virus.
The antidote would be found sooner or later. Otherwise, Hazel would be addicted to sex and couldn’t stop.
“Baby, don’t be stubborn. One day you’ll change your mind.”
After Luke finished speaking, he looked at Hazel with a meaningful look and left.
Luke was disgusting, but Hazel couldn’t stop him from disturbing her life.
Hazel opened her phone in a fit of pique, and the batteries were low. She didn’t get any messages from Baron.
She remembered that when she got up, Baron helped her apply medicine and clean. Hazel believed that it was done by Baron. But why did he leave quietly?
Hazel did it for the first time, and she had to be careful.
“Edie!”
Hazel stood up and eagerly ran in the direction of Edie. Hazel almost fell because she was unwell.
“Come on. You just slept with Baron. You don’t have to be so excited, right?”
Edie wiped her sweat. In her eyes, Baron had lost his youthful vigor, and she was more interested in younger men.
Hazel did not know whether to laugh or cry. If Baron knew what Edie thought of him, what would he think?
Hazel sensed something wrong with Luke’s words, and she could not laugh.
She wasn’t worried if she would be abandoned. Hazel thought that she understood Baron, and he would disdain to do that.
They lived together and hugged each other. They were very close, but they didn’t have sex. It was not that Baron was reserved, but that he respected Hazel.
Since Hazel woke up and did not see Baron, she suddenly panicked. Given Luke appeared again and said those harsh words, Hazel was sure that something had happened to Baron.
“Why are you so excited?”
After telling her teammates, Edie wiped the sweat off her neck with a white towel. She sat down on the lounge chair and did not want to move. Edie decided that she would not return home recently. She took great pains to sneak out, and she would enjoy a free life for a period. Otherwise, Edie would be forced into a marriage after going back.
“My phone is out of battery. Can I borrow yours?”
Hazel suddenly remembered that her cellphone had bad reception abroad, and it was likely that she would miss some calls.
If she borrowed a stranger’s phone, Baron’s phone might block anonymous calls, and Hazel couldn’t get through. At that moment, only Edie could help.
“No problem. Just take it.”
Edie passed a small mobile phone. It was custom-made and convenient to carry. Though it was tiny, it was fully functional. She looked down and suddenly realized that she had turned off the phone. It was because she was afraid that her parents would pester her when she sneaked away at the mall.
“You’re going to call Baron, right? Do you need me to go?” Edie smiled as she turned it on.
Edie would get hurt if Baron and Hazel talked about sex. Edie was single. She thought she’d better stay away, or she would get jealous.
Hazel made the call, but it said that his phone was turned off. Hazel was very surprised. She had never been in such a situation.
“What? How is that possible? Baron’s private phone is never turned off.”
Edie took her phone and began to call Dave, who was always with Baron, but no one answered.
Hazel was very disappointed. She did not think that they were deliberately avoiding her and not answering the phone.
“Don’t worry. I’ll call Baron’s assistant.”
There were time differences between Hawaii and City J, but Edie could not care about it. Edie made the call, and it was quickly answered.
Baron’s assistant did not know where he was. The assistant stayed in the company to deal with the affairs in City J.
“How could this be? Did you fall asleep and miss the call?”
Edie smiled awkwardly and was puzzled. She was afraid that Hazel would overthink it and joked, “Baron must have done it too hard and is recovering…”
Given that Hazel didn’t smile at all, Edie stomped her feet and clenched her fists. “It seems that there’s only one person we can turn to.”
Edie called Roger, and he answered almost instantly.
Roger was lying on the sofa watching TV. Suddenly, his phone rang. He saw the number and felt pleased.
“Well, Ms. Turner, why did you call me? Have you thought it through and wanted to marry me?”
The Turner family and Garnett family had been in close contact recently. The two big families wanted to invest and bind with each other. To reduce the risk, they would agree on a business marriage.
