Gabriella Monet POV
“Anabella always talks about you and the reason why she did all of that to you was because of me,” My mother explained the reason behind Anabella’s reaction towards me. It’s was all because of our mother. I was happy to see my mother but at the same time, I was sad that my sister had risked her life for our mother’s sake, and she didn’t tell me.
“She should have told me about your mother,” I said. “Now, she had sacrificed herself to the devil itself. We have to save her else they’ll kill her.” I told everyone in the Cave. They all stared at me as if I had two heads. “Why are you looking at me like that?” I questioned.
“Because you have no idea what a blood moon is. The blood moon was used to gain control over the world A thousand years ago,” Teale explained. “I’m sure Luciana, Zepeda, and Xavier are planning to use that on the humans again.”
“We have to save them. The humans are going to become their food tonight.”
“There is no way we can save them.” Slade’s voice sounded from the entrance of the Cave.
“Slade!” I shouted and rushed towards him. I jumped into his arms and he welcomed me into his arms and hugged me tightly. “It’s so good to see you back again,” I told him.
“Yeah, it’s good to be back.” He kissed me briefly on the lips.
“What about Anabella?” I questioned my sister. I thought he would come with her.
Slade shook his head in response and looked into my eyes. “I’m sorry, I barely escaped” he heaved a sigh. “After the king was killed, Xavier took her away and when Zepeda ordered for me to be killed, Luciana argued with him. That’s was how I managed to escape.”
“There is something we can do right? The humans will die tonight. We need to save them.” I said to everyone.
“I am sorry Gabriella but there is nothing we can do about the humans. Those who are fated to die tonight will die but once the blood moon is…..”
“Enough!” I interrupted. “None of you value the humans. We are nothing but slaves and food to you. No one cares about what happened to the humans! You are all bunch of liars!” I shouted at them and rushed out of the cave.
The vampires never cared about us from day one, all they wanted was to continue ruling the world. “Gabriella!” Slade ran after me and grabbed my hand. “That’s enough Gabby.”
“Let’s me go,” I tried to break free from his grasp but he was too strong. “There is no point talking to you when I know you won’t help me.”
“Don’t you understand!” Slade shouted. “Going there after Zepeda and Xavier is a death sentence. The vampires are extremely strong during the blood moon. We can’t face them. They killed my father who is a powerful king, we are nothing to them.”
“I’m so sorry to say this but your father deserves to die.”
Slade scoffed and nodded in agreement. “I know you hate the king but he is still my father and even though he deserved to be punished for treating the humans as slaves, he didn’t deserve to die like that.” He expressed sadly.
“I’m sorry about that,” I apologized.
“You know Slade is right.” Bianca who I thought I would never see again appeared beside me and placed a hand on my shoulder.
“You are back? I thought you disappeared forever.”
Bianca slapped the back of my head. “You are crazy gabby.”
“Who are you talking to right now?” Slade sounded confused as he observed me and looked around to see if there was someone else with us.
“Should I tell him?” I looked towards Bianca who had her eyes fixed on Slade.
“No, I only have one purpose left and when that happens, I will cease to exist so you and Slade can have your happily ever after.” She said.
“Is everything okay with you?” Slade placed a hand on my forehead. “You kept staring there,” he pointed to where Bianca stood beside me. “Are you hallucinating?” He asked.
“No,” I said. “I’m just thinking about when all of this will end. It’s been a long time Slade. The humans also deserved a chance to live freely.”
“And it’s will come to pass once I become king. I am going to eliminate the Slave rule,” he promised and it’s sounded genuine. I believed he could do that but when was it going to happen.
Was it when Luciana and her father had killed all the humans? When was it going to happen?
“Everything will be fine,” he pulled me closer to himself and hugged me. ” I will make sure the world is at peace again.”
“I hope so,” my voice came out as whispers.
“Love is a beautiful thing,” Bianca commented and disappeared in a blink of an eye.
When Slade and I returned to the Cave, everyone was seated and talking. When they saw us, they stopped talking and turned towards us. “I hope you calm?” Daphne questioned and I nodded in response.
“Seat with me Gabriella,” My mother pointed to the space beside her.
I withdraw my hand from Slade’s and sat beside my mother. “We have come up with a plan,” Teale announced. “We can leave the palace for too long and after the blood moon tonight, we will raid the palace tomorrow morning.” He explained.
“Your plan sounds great Teale,” I commented and pointed to everyone. “How we are going to raid the palace when this is all of us?”
“A while ago you wanted the world to be saved but now, you are against his idea. ” Kyle pointed out.
He was right about my complaints but I needed to know how his plans would work when we were few. The last time I checked, I couldn’t fight except to run my mouth.
“Gabby,” Teale called. “You are right about that but I have another plan and it’s through my father,” he announced.
“What?” Kyle and Slade both said at the same time.
“You have been contacting uncle behind our back!”Slade shouted and stood up from the ground.
” how do you think I know what to do about your wolf?” Teale questioned him. “How do you think I know how to help you?”
Slade cleared his throat and shook his head in response. “I have no idea.”
“That’s because you thought my father was a criminal. The King banished my father for a crime he didn’t commit. He banished him because he showed the traits of a wolf.” Teale’s explanation made them hate the king more.
How could the king have done that? How could he banish his brother for a crime that’s meant nothing? It’s wasn’t his fault that he was born to be a half-wolf.
“My father thought I will become a wolf too but tables turned and you became the wolf.” Teale chuckled softly.
“I understand your pain Teale,” Daphne said to him. “No one deserved to be cast out because of who they are.”
She was right. Regardless of who we are, we all deserved a chance.
“I am sorry about that Teale,” Slade apologized. “I felt you should have told him about your plans.” He said.
“It’s nothing Slade. I have informed my father as soon as were attacked. He will be here in the morning with those that will help us fight against Luciana and her father.” Teale informed us all.
“What about tonight?” Daphne questioned.
“How do you mean?” I asked her and shifted my butt on the ground.
“It’s the night when the vampires become powerful and here in this cave, we have three powerful vampires. “Daphne pointed to them. ” you will lust for blood. How do we know if we would be safe?” She demanded, her voice sounding loud enough to make Kyle adjust himself and shift from her side.
“No one is attacking anyone,” Slade answered. “The reason why it’s called blood moon is for the vampires to grow stronger. My grandfather destroyed that a long time ago.”
“Slade is right.” Teale agreed. “My father has an army of humans that called themselves the vampire’s hunters. They’ve been training for years to bring down the vampires. ”
“Wow!” I yawned and exclaimed. “Your father had been planning a lot,” I said and gave him a thumb up. “I can’t wait for the humans to be free from slavery. We all deserved to be free again.” I looked at my mother and smiled. “No child deserved to be separated from their parent ever again.”
My mother placed a hand on my shoulder and caressed it gently. “I told you that everything will be fine one day Gabby.”
Yeah, if the humans and the vampires could live in harmony again then maybe the world will be a better place. I hope our plans would work out.
“Let’s rest now. The blood moon will be starting soon.” Slade said to all of us.
“Right. We need to rest to have peace in the world.” I stated.
