Gabriella Monet POV
The Queen’s birthday party finally came and it’s was the best party I had ever seen. The whole castle was decorated with white bulbs that brightens every corner and hallway. There was a long red carpet From the entrance of the castle to the party hall.
The party hall was beautifully decorated with a red and white theme. The Queen’s portrait was posted on the walls of every corner in the hall. Chandeliers were placed on every table present in the hall. There were at least five hundred chairs in the hall and a stage was prepared for the royal families. On the stage was a long glass table and Ten glass chairs behind it and on the royal family glass table was a large velvet cake. It’s was a three-tier cake which was meant for the Queen.
The slaves who were meant to serve in the party were all given a uniform to wear. The females were all given a red short dress while the males all dressed in a white suit just like the theme color of the party. All the slaves were given a role and luckily for me, I was given just one-two tables to serve.
Cool right?
“Gabriella,” I saw Rhoda walking towards me in her red and white dress that made her look a villain in old black and white movies.
“What do you need?”
Rhoda eyed me and quickly averted her eyes. “The queen request for your presence.” She informed.
“Why?”
“Because she is the queen,” Rhoda answered sarcastically as if I didn’t know that.
I ran a hand through my hair and pointed to the entrance of the hall. “Lead the way,” I said to her.
Rhoda Scoffed and walked away while I trailed behind her. When we arrived at the Queen’s door, I rubbed my hands together and took a deep breath. Rhoda opened the door and beckoned for me to enter.
The queen was just getting into her dress when I entered the room. Her dress was a beautiful white long dress that glittered like gold. Her hair was styled like a bun and a silver Tiara was placed on her hair. Besides the Queen was Luciana who was dressed in a red mermaid dress and my sister who had a green sequin dress on. “Your highness,” I announced my presence to the Queen.
“She is here,” Rhoda announced but it’s wasn’t to the Queen but Luciana.
Wait, I had no idea of what was happening. I looked around me and saw that Madam Rhoda and myself were the only humans present. There was no one else in the room who seems like a human.
“What were they scheming?” I thought as I looked from my sister to Luciana and then the Queen.
“Your highness,” Luciana stood in front of the Queen and removed the Tiara from her head.
“What impudence! How dare you?” The Queen shouted at Luciana and raised her hand to strike her but it’s was bought down by Anabella.
What the hell was going on? Luciana smirked at the Queen and pulled down her hair by removing the hair clip used to style her hair. “What are you doing to the Queen?” I inquired as I realized What was happening.
“It’s called the last days of the Queen,” Luciana clicked her tongue and circled the Queen.
“Why are you doing this? Does the king know?” The Queen questioned with her voice full of authority. Luciana burst into laughter and gave the Queen a deafening slap.
The room grew silent and I knew that something bad was bound to happen. I tried to run out of the room and called for help but I was dragged by Rhoda who held me down. “Let’s me go!” I shouted.
“Shut her up!” Luciana ordered.
Rhoda nodded in response and slapped me across the face. My face turned to the other side and I felt tears rushing into my eyes. I looked towards my sister whose eyes were fixed on me but they were filled with hate, regrets, and anger. “Why are you doing this?” I shouted at Anabella.
“Isn’t it obvious Gabriella? I played you to your own game. The outing, the talks, it’s was all a lie for you to witness this.” She pointed at Luciana who was holding a wooden stake.
A wooden stake? Slade had once told me that the wooden stake was the only thing that could kill the Royal which means Luciana was going to kill the Queen. “No!” I yelled and tried to break free from Rhoda’s hold. “You can’t do this.”
“You think so?” Luciana laughed like a maniac. She raised the wooden stake and struck the Queen with it. I yelled and closed my eyes not able to watch. When I opened my eyes, the queen was on the ground with her eyes wide open and her face white as snow with her veins showing as if they were about to pop out. The wooden stake was still in her heart.
“What did you do?” I cried out, Kicked, and shouted but Rhoda was too strong as she pinned me down.
“Oops, I just killed the Queen.” Luciana burst into laughter and clapped her hands. “I am so sorry your highness,” Luciana mocked the Queen by bowing her head.
“You bitch!” I jabbed Rhoda with my elbow and rushed to hit Luciana. “How could you do that to the Queen?” I raised my hand to strike her but she grabbed it before it could make contact with her face. She twisted my hand and pushed me to the ground.
“That’s one thing about you humans. You trust too easily!” Luciana kicked me in the stomach with her heels. “You just killed the Queen!”
” What? I didn’t do it. ” I held my stomach as I felt another kick from Luciana.
“Who do you think they’ll believe. You are just a worthless human!” Luciana laughed as she kicked me repeatedly on the stomach. While all of this was going on, Anabella was watching as if she knew it’s was going to happen. I felt betrayed that the only person I trusted turned out to be my greatest weakness. “What do you think would happen if Slade found out that you killed his mother?”
Warm tears spilled down my face as I thought about Slade. I already knew the answer to Luciana’s Question and I know Slade would never believe me. “Why?” My question came out more like a whisper as the tears continued to rush out. “Why are you doing this?”
“Because I should be Queen!” Luciana shouted. “You and the Queen are obstacles to my goal. Getting rid of you was the only way to achieve my goals”
“I…,” I sniffled as I couldn’t stop crying. “Why are you doing this Anabella?” I needed to know why the person I trusted betrayed me.
“Isn’t it obvious Gabriella? I pretended to be your long-lost sister,” She admitted.
Lies. They were lies.
My heart, felt as if it was on fire and I screamed out as I was hit on the head with something big and hard like a rock. My head spun and I saw the stars. My vision became hazy but before I could lose consciousness, I heard someone else entering the room.
“Is it over?” It’s was Candice and they were all in it together.
Most times, the people we trust are the one who bites us behind our back. I trusted my sister but I only got bitten in the back. It’s was a bite I knew I’ll never recover from.
~~~
A deafening slap landed on my face jerking me out of my unconsciousness. When I opened my eyes, There were thousands of eyes on me. I looked around me and realized that I was in the lobby and vampires were all around me.
I heard the screaming of someone and when I turned My head, another slap landed on my face. “You monster,” The king rushed at me and punched me in the face. My head fell backward and blood oozed out of my nose.
“What is going on?” My shaking voice questioned.
“She is still asking?” The king rushed to hit me again but he was pulled back by Teale and Slade.
What happened? I held my head as the memories of Luciana struck the Queen’s heart with a wooden stake. That’s was when I realized that I had been framed by Luciana and my sister. “I… Didn’t do it,” I tried to defend myself but got hit on the face by Luciana
“You pathetic human! You killed the Queen!” Luciana faked Cry and wiped a fake tear from her eyes.
“You are crazy! I didn’t kill the Queen. You did.” I retorted and everyone in the lobby gasped.
They began to murmur amongst themselves and pointed accusing fingers at me.
“Take her away and kill her!”
“Kill her, kill her.” They all chanted.
“I didn’t do it,” I tried to say that out but my voice wasn’t heard as the chanting continued. I looked into the faces of the people I knew and they all gave me the worst kind of look. Slade glared as if he wanted to kill me. The King who was fuming with anger was held down from killing me. “I didn’t do it!”
“I knew she was a lying bitch when she lied against my brother. You did something worst, you stupid human. You went after the Queen on her birthday,” Candice scoffed as she throw shades at me.
“Kill her,” They all continue to chant.
“Enough!” The king shouted shutting everyone in the lobby up. He walked closer to me and grabbed me by the throat. “I should kill you now,” he said through gritted teeth. The color of his eyes changed into blood red and his grip on my neck felt as if I was going to die anytime soon. “I will make sure you suffer worse than my Queen. Guards!” He shouted.
Five guards rushed forward and I was pushed towards them. “Lock her up in the cold room and make sure you increase the density of the room,” he ordered.
“Wait,” I shouted as I was dragged away by the guards. “I didn’t do it I swear. Please! Slade!” I called for help but I was ignored because everyone thought that I had killed the Queen. “I didn’t do it!” I yelled until I lost my voice.
The guards dragged me into the cold room and per the King’s orders, the density was increased. The cold room was frozen and the red dress I wore barely cover up my skin. I shivered as the cold bites into my skin. My lips trembled and I felt my heart grow cold. Wrapping my arms around my body to generate heat didn’t help as the cold increased. I sat in one corner of the room and placed my hand on my head as I cried. Nobody believed me not even Slade who told me he loved me and the person I trusted the most betrayed me. I was all alone.
No one gave me the chance to speak my mind. I was judged because I was a weak human who fell for the traps of those whom I trusted. I knew there was no escape for me and at that moment I wished a miracle Could happen.
