Chapter 19

Book:The Vampire World Published:2024-5-1

Slade Donovan POV
The Drive to Landiok cliff was an unpleasant one as I drove with one hand on my chest and the other on the steering wheel. I arrived at the place in a few minutes and thanks to the landmark cliff signpost along the roadside, I was able to get to the place. I parked the car along the roadside and rushed out of the car with my super speed, I ran into the woods. While still running, I heard a deafening cry that sounded just like Gabriella’s voice. I increased my speed and on getting to where to I presume Gabriella was. The position I found Gabriella was annoying and it’s made my blood boil. Gabriella was being drained by a vampire and when I smell the air, he was just a normal vampire.
Not a royal or noble one.
How dare a vampire lay hands on what’s mine?
I yanked the vampire off Gabriella and she fell towards the ground but before she could reach the ground, I rushed to her side and she fell into my arms. When the vampire made eye contact with me, he quickly bow and apologise. “I’m sorry my prince.” He begged.
“Run!” I yelled and he ran like his life depended on it. I was going to deal with him later but first, I needed to make sure Gabriella was okay.
“Slade,” she muttered and tried to touch my face but her hand dropped. Her once bright face had turned white. She tried to say something again and started coughing out blood and I knew if I didn’t do something, she could die. I bit my hand and put it in her mouth. Gabriella sucked on my blood and when she had enough, she stopped.
The puncture on her neck healed quickly and her face that had turned pale regain color but she didn’t wake up yet. I carried her and run into the woods. The vampire who escaped wasn’t my problem yet because I needed to make sure Gabriella was fine. When I got to the car, Teale was awake which was kinda Surprising to me because he shouldn’t be up until after two days. Teale held the Vampire by the throat and smiled at me.
“You can thank me later,” he winked at me. “How is she?” He pointed to Gabriella who was laying in my arms.
“She is okay for now,” I answered. I opened the back seat and laid Gabriella on it.  After making sure she was okay, I walked back to the front of the car where Teale was still holding the empire by the neck. When he saw me heading towards him, he pushed the vampire towards me. The first thing I did to the vampire was kick his balls.
A reminder of what Gabriella would do if she were to be in my shoes. The vampire fell to the ground and held his balls. I raised him and threw him down. He landed with a thump and heaved a deep groan. “Who are you?” I questioned him but he refused to answer me. I grabbed him by his clothe and pulled him up. I landed a fist on his face but I knew it would have no effect since he has healing ability as any normal vampire would. “Who the hell are you?” I asked again and when he didn’t reply, I deliver a punch to his mouth making sure I knock a tooth out of his mouth. Vampires have healing abilities but they can grow a tooth back.
“My prince,” he spat out blood from his mouth. “I apologize but I was sent by someone.”
“Who?”
“I can’t tell you, my prince,” he said. “I was told I’ll be killed if I say a word.”
“You’ll die whether you say a word or you don’t. ” I told him and he gulped visibly.
“Lord Zepeda. He asked to me kill her, I didn’t know she was your slave.” He confessed.
” Right. Zepeda will never do that.” I didn’t know why I refused to believe him. The Zepeda I knew doesn’t talk much and he has no business with Gabriella except it was Luciana. “Why did he ask you to do it?”
“I don’t know my prince, I was given an order. Please spare me, my prince.” He begged.
“Very well, I’ll give you mercy.” I released my hand from my clothes and he smiled but he soon groaned out in pain when my hand made contact with his chest.
“What…. t,” he coughed out dark blood as my hand made contact with his heart. I twist his heart and held it right.
“You made one mistake and that’s is going after what’s mine.  She isn’t just my slave she is mine!” I confessed and pulled out his heart. The vampire dropped to the ground and his face soon turned pale.
“Let’s leave this place, Slade,” Teale said to me.
“What about him?” I pointed to the dead vampire.
“He’ll be nothing but food to the vultures.”
I stared at the vampire for the last time and entered into the driver’s seat. Once the royal police find him, they’ll know he had done something terrible to have his heart pulled out. I also stared at the back seat where Gabriella lay. Her eyes were still closed but I could hear her heartbeat. It’s was faint but at least she was alive. I start the car and drove out of the place. Seeing Teale looking okay without having the urge to hunt for bloodthirst made me stare at him in awe.
“Stop looking at me like that.” He said. “I know you have questions and I’ll answer them.”
Thank you, Teale,” I smiled at him.
“You are welcome cousin,” he smiled back and started telling me how he was able to overcome his thirst for blood. While listening to him, I thought of what would have happened if I were to be one minute late.

Gabriella Monet POV
It’s was dark. There was no glint of light where I was.  A loud voice screamed in a distance and multiple voices soon joined. I covered my ears with my hand but it’s wasn’t helping instead the voice grew louder.
“What’s is happening!” I shouted. The voice stopped and I found myself in a garden. The sun shone brightly in the sky and I had to use my hands as a shield from the sun. I looked around me and in the garden were beautiful flowers of different kinds. When I tried to touch one of the flowers, the sun that’s brightened up the sky disappeared and the sky became blank with no moon or sun. I could still see everything around which was surprising. The flowers slowly fade until they die. “What’s is going on?” I questioned no one in particular.
“You ignored my warning,” a voice said behind me. I quickly turned and jumped in fear when I saw myself staring at me.
“Bia.. nca,” I pointed to myself and pointed to her. “How is this possible? Your hair was blonde the last time.” I pointed to her hair which was black like mine. It was as if I was staring at myself in the mirror. “Why are you appearing to me? I didn’t kill you.”
“Yes you didn’t but you ignored your fate little on.”
“Little one?” I scoffed. “I’m not a child you devil twin of mine.”
Bianca burst into laughter. “Why are you laughing?” She was getting me pissed.
How dare she laugh at me?
“You can’t ignore your fate, Gabriella.” She grabbed my hand. “More problems are coming if you don’t find the evil one. The way the flowers died and the sun and moon disappeared is how humans would cease to exist If you ignore your fate.”
“Why does it have to be my fate? Get rid of the vampires yourself and stop appearing to me!” I shouted at her. “Who is this evil one? What my business with whether it is evil or not?”
“I have no idea. It’s your destiny to find out Bianca,” she answered.
I freed my hand from hers and took two steps backward. “The vampires are the evil ones and the world already ended when the Vampires took over the world.”
“You can’t avoid your fate, Gabriella.”
“Be gone you freak. If you appear to me once more, I’ll poke out your eyes.” I threatened.
“We’ll see about that little one.” She snapped her fingers.
I gasped for breath as I woke up to the real world. I opened my eyes and the first thing I noticed was the blue too. I was in the Slade room but when I looked around, he was nowhere in sight. The last thing I remembered was getting kidnapped by a psychotic Vampire who almost killed me. I touched my neck and didn’t feel any pain. It was as if the pain disappeared. I jumped out of the bed and rushed into Slade’s bathroom. I looked at my neck in the large mirror and I saw no scar which was surprising. The only person who could have saved and healed me was Slade.
“Why?” I questioned my reflection.
“You and Slade shared a bond” Bianca’s voice echoed in my head.
I heaved a sigh and came out of the bathroom. I sat on Slade’s bed and thought of how Slade found me and saved me.
Could it be the bond?
The door to Slade’s room opened and Slade entered when he saw me, he rushed to my side. “Are you okay Gabriella?” He tried to touch me but I stopped him. He sat beside me and looked at me. “How did you find me?” I asked him.
“I didn’t see you for so long and I was worried about you.” He confessed.
“You were worried?”
He nodded and placed my hand into his. He caressed it gently and looked at me. “Teale paid a major role in saving you.” I didn’t say anything and we both stared at each other. His eyes transitioned from blue to golden like they used to.
“I don’t need you saving me Slade,” I removed my hand from his. “I don’t need your petty saving.” My replies shocked him and it was obvious as his eyes continued to change colors. The transitioning of his eyes probably meant his emotions I presume. “If you see me in danger. I need you to ignore me,” my voice broke and I couldn’t look at him in the eyes. “We are your food,” I continued. “I don’t need saving from a bloodsucker!” I knew I sounded like a bitch but whatever bond I shared with Slade needed to be broken because it was starting to affect me. He was a vampire and I am a human. Our path will only lead to our destruction.
“You want me to ignore saving you.” He spoke.
“Yes.”
“Fine. If that’s what you want.” He agreed and my heart shattered into my pieces. I didn’t know why It felt like my heart stopped for a second. I didn’t want him to say that but I was responsible for it. “Leave my room, you ungrateful human!” He shouted and pointed to the door.
“Slade,” I tried to call him but it only got worse as he dragged me out of his room and slammed the door on my face. I knocked on his door but he refused to answer so I ran to my room and burst into tears. The tears rushed out and I couldn’t stop it. I wasn’t crying because he didn’t open the door. I was crying because the bond and it’s was affecting and changing how I feel about him. If I wanted to change the world and freed the humans from the vampires, I needed to remove every obstacle including Slade.
