Chapter 18

Book:The Vampire World Published:2024-5-1

Gabriella Monet POV
After the argument with Daphne, I thought of how humans could change so fast because they enjoy some Benefits from the vampires who took our world from us.
People could be so ungrateful.
I fell asleep on that thought and when I woke up, it’s was already morning as the rays of the sun brighten my room. I stretched, yawned, and opened my eyes. I jumped in fright when I saw a figure in my room. I rubbed my eyes and stared at the person in my room. It’s was someone I haven’t met before and took a closer look. I could tell he was a vampire because of his pale skin and different eye pigment.
Right.
“Who the hell are you?” I asked him.
“Prince Slade request for you in the Castle garden.” The vampire said.
“Slade!” I shouted and the vampire raised a brow probably because I addressed his prince by his name. “Why does the prince wants to see me.” The last time I checked, we were not on talking terms. The vampire didn’t reply and he just stood in my room like a statue. I jumped out of my bed and stood face to face with the Vampire. The vampire didn’t even blink when I waved my hands at his face.
I guessed the vampires were stupid.
“Wait outside, I need to change my clothe.” I pointed to my nightie.
The vampire gave me a nod and walked out of my room. After changing into a red hood and black trousers, I walked outside and saw the vampire standing by my door. “Lead me to him,” I told him.
“Right after you,” he said.
I muttered a curse as I walked in front of him. Whatever Slade had to say to me must be important for him to send someone to fetch me.
“Take a turn by the left,” the vampire ordered.
I took a turn and walked down a long hallway. The hallway was so long that I thought I was going to walk forever. When we got to the end of the hallway, he told me to wait. “I thought we were going to the castle garden. Why are we waiting?” I asked.
“Because of this,” he hit my neck with the back of his hand.
My eyes rolled and I fell to the ground to the ground. My head hit the ground first followed by the rest of my body.  My eyes shut and I blacked out.
When I woke up, I tried opening my eyes but all I could see was darkness. Something was covering my face and tightly tied behind my ears. I was blindfolded. My hands were perfectly tied together with my legs and when I tried to break free, I cut myself. I struggled again but I kept cutting myself.
“Try that’s again and you end up bleeding to death.” A stern voice warned.
“The only that will bleed is when my hand made a connection with your face.” I threatened and struggled against whatever was used to tie me. I stopped when I heard footsteps making their way towards. It was loud and noisy as if the person was walking on sand.
The blindfold was yanked from my face and I blinked twice to adjust to the sun that shone brightly In the blue sky. After my eyes adjusted to the light, I looked around me and gasped when I realized where I was. I was at the edge of a cliff. I was so close that when I turned my head, I could see how low the ground was. I visibly gulped and stare at my assailant. He was a vampire but different from the one who tricked me out of my room.
I couldn’t believe that I was foolish enough to believe a stupid vampire. This was all because of Slade.
“Who are you? What do you want me?” I asked the pale vampire in front of me.
“You are ordered to be killed.”
“By who? By Slade.” I mentioned the first name that came to my head. “Slade stooped so low in killing me.”
The vampire didn’t reply but pulled me up. The stupid wire thing that was used to tie me up to cut through my skin letting red liquid flows out of my hand. The blood gushed out and the vampire’s grip on me was two times tighter.
He growled out and sniffed my neck like an animal. I felt his warm breath on my neck. Before I knew what was happening, I felt something piercing my neck and I let out a deafening scream. Whatever he used in piercing my neck was sharp and it send an agonizing pain into my body. The vampire gulped on my blood like he was drinking water. It was so painful that I felt my body growing weak under his touch. I struggled to break free but it only made it worse, my whole body was shaking but the Vampire didn’t let me go. I pictured my life and everything that had happened to me.  A lone tear escaped my eyes. I didn’t want to die yet because I had things I needed to do before I die but the Vampire wouldn’t let me.
“If only Slade was here,” I thought as more tears escaped my eyes.
When the vampires continue to drink from me with no hope of letting me go, I closed my eyes as I welcome my death.
“Goodbye world.”

Slade Donovan POV
“I haven’t seen your slave in a while since that ball incident. Is she okay?” My mother, the queen questioned.
I had visited her that morning in her chamber. Whenever I feel like reliving my pains or when I need advice, I always go to my mother. She has a pure heart because she was first a human before she was turned into a vampire by my father.
“She is okay I guessed,” I replied sarcastically but I noticed my mother rolled her eyes at my response.
“What did you do son?”
“I didn’t do anything mother. She is okay. The last I saw her was yesterday when she kicked me in the balls.”
My mother burst into laughter when she heard what I had just said. I found it funny too but it was painful. “That’s was funny,” she said and laughed again. “She seems different from Bianca right?”
“Yes. She is very sassy and has a running mouth.” I told my mother who stared at me like I had seven heads. “Why are you staring at me like that?”
“You are whipped son. You and Gabriella share a bond just like when you are Bianca were together.”
“I don’t about any bond. I thought Vampires don’t get the chance to have chosen mate.”
My mother took a deep breath and stood up from her bed. “Listen, son, being a vampire without a beating heart doesn’t mean we can’t feel love too. Although your grandfather   canceled the idea of a chosen mate, some vampires still share a bond with humans.” She explained.
“But father had already stopped the idea of slave and vampires relationship except them at for our pleasures.”
“You can’t stop what is meant to be,” she argued and sat back on the bed.
“I don’t want to be a weak king and…..” I fell to the ground before I could finish my sentence. A terrible wave of pain hit me and I started coughing which was weird at first but before I knew it, I had started coughing out blood.
“Slade!” My mother rushed to my side. “Are you okay?” She tried to help me up but I didn’t budge. “Should I send for your father?”
I used my hand to stop her. “No,” I managed. “Something has happened to Gabriella and it’s not good,” I told her. Before she could say anything, I disappeared from her sight. With my super speed, I made it into Gabriella’s room but she wasn’t inside. I sniffed the room and her smell engulfed my nose but it was mixed with another smell. A vampire and a human. Seeing that she wasn’t in her room, I rushed into Teale’s room and found him sleeping on his bed. I pulled him from his bed and pushed him towards the wall in his room. “Where is Gabriella?”
“What? I don’t know.” He answered but I didn’t trust him.
“Where did you keep her?” I shouted at him.
“I didn’t do anything. You made me blackout for a whole day. I was just about to wake up when you barge into my room.” He retorted.
I let go of him and walked out of his room. He went after me and called my name. “Slade, if anything is wrong with Gabriella, I’ll be glad to help.”
I raised my face in a frown but when I thought of what he said, I figured he was the only one who could truly help me. “You can find out where she is right?” I refer to his ability that made him go bloodthirsty.
“Okay but if we are doing this. Let’s leave the castle. She is no longer in the castle because I can feel it.” He told me.
Another wave of pain hit me but before I could say anything, Teale understood and grabbed my hand leading me to the Castle garage. We took one of the cars, A black Mercedes Benz. “I’ll drive. Try to find out where she is.” I told him.
“Okay.” He said and entered the car. Once I was in the driver’s seat, I start the car and drove out of the castle ground.
Teale seems to have started hunting for her as his eyes were closed and he was talking like he should. “It’s too dark but she is suffocating. She is on a cliff but I can’t see anything.” Teale whispered. “I can’t….” He gasped for breath and opened his eyes. His once purple eyes shone brightly as he closed them again and began to talk. “She is on Landiok Cliff. The cliff of death.” Teale whispered and when he tried to say something else, he opened his eyes and held his throat. “Blood!” He yelled. “I need…..” I let my hand off the wheel of the car and twist his head.
He groaned painfully and closed his eyes. If I didn’t do it, he might jump out of the car and kill any human he sees. I increased the speed towards the Landiok cliff that was a twenty minutes drive from the Castle.
While I neared the Landiok cliff, the pain increased and I drove zig-zag across the road. Something bad had happened to Gabriella and it’s was not good.
