Although Severo’s health was no longer any different, Victorino suggested that it would be best for him to stay in the sanatorium for a few more days.
Allyce was fine with that.
As far as she was concerned, it didn’t matter where she stayed, as long as it was good for her health.
But Severo didn’t want to.
“Don’t stay, go home.” When he finished, he looked at Allyce, with a deep, unbounded gaze.
Severo had suffered a lot this time, and Allyce was already heartbroken for him, although she also felt she should stay here for a few more days before returning, but Severo didn’t want to.
She felt sorry for him, so she had to accede to his wishes.
So, without even thinking about it, he nodded and said: “Yes”.
Severo curved his lips into a slight smile, then leaned down and placed a soft kiss on her lips, his voice flowing pleasantly as he breathed two words into her ear: “Good girl.
There was something strange in the tone of his voice, as if it was appreciative, just a little lower in pitch, but it made Allyce a little uncomfortable.
Having decided not to stay at the sanatorium, they packed their bags and returned to Cloudy Bay the same day.
Xabat picked them up by car.
Xabat’s face glowed with excitement when he saw Severo: “Boss”.
Severo didn’t even look at him, just picked up Allyce and got into the car without looking at him.
Xabat was a bit stunned, why did he feel there was something different about his boss?
Although Severo had been cold to people in the past, he didn’t even have to give them a look, did he?
Although he was a little confused, he did his duty and closed the back door for them before going to the front to drive.
“Are the boss and his wife going straight back to Cloudy Bay?” Xabat looked a little uncomfortable at the mention of Allyce.
Allyce sensed it too, she still thought that Xabat was Severo’s right-hand man, and that they had to reconcile somehow.
He was a little angry at Xabat’s words that day, but in retrospect, he let it pass, as Xabat had not wanted to do so.
Severo raised his eyes and looked at Xabat: “Apologise to her”.
Her voice was deep, as if she had been pulled out of the water, not so cold as to be frightening, but with an inexplicable coldness.
It was not only Xabat who felt this way, but also Allyce.
He found Severo’s attitude too icy.
He had never been particularly kind to Xabat, but at least he could be felt, but there was still a difference compared to the others.
He couldn’t help but grab Severo’s hand and gesture to him not to take it personally.
I didn’t want Severo to be angry with Xabat because of her.
Because he knew that for Severo Xabat he was not only an assistant, but also a friend.
Xabat was a man and not as delicate as Allyce, so he just thought Severo was angry and didn’t think much more about it.
He also thought that one day he would apologise to Allyce: “I’m sorry, ma’am, I was wrong to say those things the other day”.
Allyce was quick to speak up: “It’s OK, I didn’t mind, I know you didn’t mean it.
Allyce thought that after Xabat apologised to her and made it clear that he didn’t care, the matter would be settled and we would remain friends.
But Severo was still not satisfied, and he turned to Allyce with a cold look: “Do you forgive him?
“Yes.” Allyce felt there was nothing wrong with what she had said, but when Severo questioned her about it, she weakened.
Then he thought: “Xabat didn’t mean it”, and he knew it, and Severo could understand it too.
What Allyce didn’t quite understand was why Severo was so worried.
Severo watched Allyce coolly until Allyce felt a little nervous, then Severo turned his head and said, “Drive”.
Xabat then wiped the cold sweat from his brow and headed towards the bay of clouds.
As soon as the car pulled up to the dock, Xabat got out and opened the door for them, as attentively as he could.
Severo got out of the car without looking at Xabat, while Allyce smiled slightly and nodded to him before getting out.
When he looked up, he met Severo’s cold, icy face.
He was surprised, why was Severo so angry?
Xabat closed the car door and turned his head, looking at Severo’s face.
Severo snorted coldly, as if to say, “Get out of here!
Xabat blushed and turned his head to look at Allyce, only to see the same surprised expression on Allyce’s face.
Frightened by Severo’s look, he opened the car door, got in and drove off.
Allyce looked in the direction Xabat had gone and saw that Xabat’s car made a big turn and almost hit a tree on the side of the road, and thought to herself that Xabat was really scared of Severo.
“He’s gone far away and you’re still looking?” Severo’s cold voice came, drawing Allyce’s attention to her.
Severo’s tone of voice made her frown.
He paused for a moment, unable to resist speaking and asking Severo: “What’s wrong with you?
Consequently, Severo stopped paying attention to him and turned around to head back to the villa.
“Sir, madam, welcome home!”
Presumably because Xabat had come to take care of things in advance, the two headed inside and the servants stood at the door to greet them.
Allyce hadn’t expected Xabat to make such a scene, but she nodded anyway and said, “Good job.
He asked a few more questions about the house and the servants answered them all.
Allyce saw that it was noon and turned her head to ask Severo what he wanted to eat, but when she turned her head to look around, where was Severo?
He looked up and saw Severo at the top of the stairs on the first floor.
Allyce was stunned for a moment, unable to resist her doubts.
He thought there was something strange about Severo.
I couldn’t tell what was strange, it had been a short time, perhaps I had slept too much recently and was in a gloomy mood.
I would leave him alone for now and call him to come down for lunch when he was ready.
Allyce prepared a light, nutritious meal herself and then went upstairs to call Severo.
He pushed open the door to his office and saw Severo sitting at his desk with his laptop in front of him, his fingers flying over it.
I had just returned from the sanatorium and was back at work.
