Kraius massaged his forehead while reading some paperworks he was holding. His grip on it was tight which almost torned the papers apart. Unable to bear it, he threw it on the wooden table just in front of him.
“Shit!” Kraius cursed loudly, almost rumbling in his closed office. His secretary immediately entered and looked at him scrutinizingly under her thick glasses.
“Anything you want, Mr. Montreal? Kraius’ secretary asked him with a raised eyebrow.
Kraius turned his gaze to her and seemed uninterested as he examined it from head to toe. The secretary raised an eyebrow at what he did but she didn’t say anything.
“Do you have nothing else to do but to be strict on me?” Kraius asked his secretary. He looked at her unbelievably and shook his head after. He then picked up the papers he had thrown on the table and read them again.
“Fuck!” Kraius cursed once more.
“Are you sure you don’t need anything Mr. Mont-”
” Coffee, please! Dark coffee, ” Kraius refrained from saying anything. His secretary nodded immediately and politely left and went to the office pantry. Kraius was looking nowhere when his iphone vibrated. It was a call from Judge Aguirre. He instantly picked the apparatus and answered it as he leaned his back on his swivel chair and lulled it slowly.
“Good morning. Judge! ” he greeted enthusiastically. Contrary to how Kraius really feels.
“This is about your proposal, Attorney. I must say. . . it’s a deal, “Judge Aguirre said directly.
Kraius’ lips instantly formed a devious smile. He closed his eyes as he listened to Judge Aguirre’s term. He also mentioned his greatest asset why he hurriedly said yes to his proposal. Apple Santibańez, his mistress.
“Great! This is a deal Judge. I will immediately send the papers in regard to this agreement, ” Kraius said.
“Keep your words, Son. And, I will keep mine, ” Judge Agguire replied.
Kraius didn’t know how to feel when the call from the Judge ended. Sure, he was happy but a part of him was also fuming mad. Reading those paper’s that he was holding a while ago made him a mad man. He feels like he can destroy everything.
Kraius’ thoughts got interrupted when his secretary put the mug with coffee on the table. His eyes instantly looked at his not so nerdy secretary and found her looking at him with disbelief.
“Got a problem?” Kraius’ forehead creased. His secretary was always weird. She answered him by shaking her shoulder and got out.
Kraius just gave his secretary some gaze and was surprised at what he saw. Standing in the entrance of his office was the woman who kept on bugging his mind. Wearing a classy corporate attire with her three inches Christian Louboutin corporate leather pumps.
Rhezi’s hair was tied at the back of her head. It was swaying as she walked closely to Kraius who seemed stunned by her sudden appearance. Meanwhile, just like the first time Kraius heard the sound of her heels, it was like music in his ears.
“What did you do?” Rhezi asked Kraius, instantly. She put her hands on the table and looked at him in her deadly stare. She was stunning in her red lipstick. While she was glaring at him, Kraius lingered his eyes on her lips as she mumbled words he couldn’t understand. He was eyeing her intently. Roamed his sight in her almond shaped eyes to her pointed nose. Rhezi’s chubby cheeks were gone. Now, she looked like a goddess personified.
“What ?!” Rhezi shrieked. She looked deadly and obviously angry. Kraius blinked a few times to wake his senses. He was mesmerized by the sight in front of him that he didn’t even realize that his mouth fell open. He shook his head harshly to shrug the obvious and scolded himself for being weak. It was just the other day when he said that he would take revenge on her.
“What are you talking about?” he asked while his forehead creased.
Meanwhile, Rhezi sighed and bit her lower lip. She was still glaring at him but she managed to get back her composure. She was mad because of the sudden dismissal of Andao’s annulment case. She knew that he had done something for it to be dismissed so suddenly. She then looked up, trying to get some patience while unconsciously exposing her beautiful neck.
Kraius caught off guard from the act. He swallowed hard from the sight in front of him. He cursed himself as he felt he’s having a boner. Seeing the new Rhezi was torture. She was a madness he should avoid. A simple gesture from her could make him lose his mind and sanity. While, his testosterone was also raging as fuck.
“Shit,” he said weakly to himself. Krius sighed and stood up. He walked closely to Rhezi who was still busy with what she was seeing. He stopped a few meters away from her and leaned his back on the table he was using, while his hand was placed on the edge of it for support.
Wearing his usual coat and tie, Kraius looked formal and powerful. Back to his usual authoritative stance and formal aura. Gone was the bubbly and boyish facade. However, Rhezi seemed unaffected by his presence.
“I can sue you for accusing me, Mrs. Bailey. ”
Kraius gritted his teeth as he uttered the words. His hand which was on top of the table formed a fist. He instantly felt hatred towards the woman. Gone was the feeling of him wanting to hug her tight. His need to avenge was stronger than the lust and desire he felt a while ago. How could Rhezi turn her back on their wedding day and leave for ten years? How dare she make him look like a fool waiting for her on the altar? How could she come back and marry someone who wasn’t him?
“Got your tongue out, Mrs. Bailey?” Kraius’ words were sharp and powerful. Looking at the woman and remembering the past boiled his anger all of a sudden. He still tried to keep his calm though.
Meanwhile, Rhezi was stunned by the words Kraius said. She stopped what she was doing and faced him. Anger was evident in his eyes as it pierced through her. He looked serious and lethal. His aura was so intimidating that Rhezi shook her head and turned her back on him. She got tongue tied that she desperately wanted to leave. But Kraius was faster. He abruptly grabbed her arm and made her look at him.
“You entered the wrong place, Mrs. Bailey,” Kraius said, mockingly. “Once you enter, there is no turning back.”
Kraius’ words sent shivers to Rhezi’s system. Her anger vanished and was turned into fear. She tried to freed herself from his grip but to no avail. He even tightened it more despite of the pain he inflicted on Rhezi’s forearm and even if she struggled so hard.
” Could you please let go of me?! Rhezi shouted on Kraius. She tried to solidate her voice even though her knees wobbled. She wanted to act accordingly because she knew Kraius was too smart to be tricked by words.
Kraius shook his head and grinned. The table instantly turned to him which made Rhezi feel uneasy. So, she did something so unthinkable. She slapped him on his face.
“Is that what you’ve got, Chubz?” he asked.
Rhezi was about to slap Kraius on the face again but he was faster. He pulled her close and before she could complain, their lips already met, leaving Rhezi’s eyes widened. He was kissing Rhezi rough and hungry. Punishment was evident in every move of his lips on her. While Rhezi tasted the blood from her lips because of what Kraius did. She also felt it quivered and the gradual intensity of pain as every second passed. It wasn’t actually a kiss but a punishment from him.
“N-No–”
“Fuck!” Kraius cursed and released Rhezi afterwards.
“I hate you!” she stated. Her eyes were clouded in tears while her breathing hitched. Pain and agony was evident in her gaze to him. “I hate you then and I hate you more now, Kraius!” she admitted.
Rhezi exited from Kraius’ office immediately. Without looking-back, she left Kraius. She wiped her tears on her cheek and gasped for air to breathe. She tried to calm herself and walked with grace, even though her heart was broken. Her heart throbbed in pain as she remembered the past but shrugged the thoughts off immediately. She shook her head as she drove her car fast and went directly to the law firm she was working at. This was her new life for coming back to the Philippines. She should have prepared in seeing Kraius and his antics.
She partly blamed herself for bursting out after she heard the news from Mrs. Andao. She partly blamed herself for coming to Kraius’ office without stronger virtue. Rhezi knew that she had looked like a laughingstock in Kraius’ eyes because of her recklessness.
Just as Rhezi had exactly sat on her office table given by the law firm, one of her fellow attorneys had approached her. She’s scratching her head and has a half smile on her lips. Rhezi’s eyes raised because of the way she acted. She wasn’t surprised either because they weren’t close.
“Do you need anything, Attorney?” Rhezi asked her.
“Have you heard the news, Attorney Bailey? ” she asked Rhezi instead.
Rhezi shook her head. She hated the conversation, already.
“Nope,” she responded and shifted her gaze to the paper she needed to read. She left it because she was in a hurry to go to Kraius’s office.
“There was a meeting earlier. The head informed us that the firm was already bought by a Montreal firm. Everything has changed in the department, ” she happily informed Rhezi. It grabbed Rhezi’s attention and looked at her again. She saw her co-worker smile. “You were assigned to the Montreal firm’s main office. You’re so lucky. My! Kraius Montreal was there! ”
Rhezi slowly lowered the paper she was holding. She processed everything that her co-worker said. When the realization hit her, she cursed inside her head nonstop. Kraius was literally giving her a headache.
What the fuck!
