I woke up at eight in the morning where I realized that I was sleeping without waking up at all. I was too tired after a long ride. I had never been in the car for four hours.
I jumped out of the bed and headed to the dining room. Blake was there reading a newspaper. “Morning,” he greeted and put down the paper.
“Morning.”
“You sleep well?”
“Very well, yes.”
“Great. Would you like your breakfast now?”
“Yes, please.” Right after he heard my answer, he stood up from his chair and headed to where the telephone was. Telling whoever on the phone to bring breakfast to our room.
Breakfast in the hotel room. I never did that before.
I sat in the dining chair while waiting. Blake soon followed.
“What time did you get up?” I asked.
“Around seven. You were sleeping so peacefully. I didn’t dare to wake you up.”
“Thanks. Um, did you bring your laptop as well?”
“No. It’s my holiday and I don’t want anyone not even works to disturb us. You have me for two weeks, lady. And I forbid you to ask about my work. Everything is taken care of and I can leave John in peace for a while.” I laughed at his statement. He indeed trusted John so much.
“Alright then. So, what did you order for breakfast?”
“Soufflé Omelette, English breakfast, and pancake. Plain milk for you and coffee for me. We could share if you like,” Blake announced.
“Sure. I don’t think I can finish them all.”
A few minutes later, the food arrived and we began to dig in.
The dishes were amazing. The omelet was so fluffy. I might be going to order this along with my stay here. As expected from a five-star hotel.
“Have you researched the town?”
“I have but I’m confused about what to do. I think Madame Tussauds is interesting. And the high roller as well.”
“We could ride that one at night. It’s more beautiful in the evening. You can see the city in a better view.”
“Okay. And I want to see the Eiffel Tower as well,” I added.
“I have been there before. It’s not much exciting as the original one in Paris, but I will bring you there. You should get ready after breakfast.”
“Okay!” I replied excitedly.
After we were done with breakfast and shower, we went down to the parking lot. “Do you want to try the Mob Museum?” he asked.
“Sure.” And he drove us there. When we reached there, the building looked pretty classic. Blake parked the car in the VIP area. He paid for our tickets and we walked inside.
I was amazed by the displays inside. I felt like I just entered a different world. So dark as I couldn’t put it much into words.
“This museum is telling us about the birth of the mob, what are they doing in life, and many more,” Blake explained.
“Are those weapons real?”
“They are. This place was built for educational purposes. So, we can be careful and learn how to deal with the mob. Although mostly we should just stay away from them.”
“I guess I will do that.”
Blake chuckled a bit. “Mobs are usually cruel and evil; that’s how people considered them. But they respected their group. Be loyal to their group and they would earn respect. Betrayed the group and they will be disposed of. It’s just as simple as that. And they love torturing as their enemy even the traitor.” That was…deep. Less talking, more killing. That was twisted.
Blake took me to the second floor, the place on how mobs did their dirty work. What was with the chair there?
“They love to torture their enemy slowly to the point they begged for forgiveness and asked them to let them die,” Blake continued to explain.
“Are they usually letting them die easily?” Blake chuckled darkly when he heard me that. I guess I know the answer.
“No.” He lowered himself so he would level my ear. “They will kill them slowly,” he whispered. I couldn’t imagine someone was torturing and killing his or her victim slowly. Such a dangerous human being or perhaps they were not human beings.
But other than that…
“How do you know all of this?”
“Well, I’ve been here before. And I love history. It’s fun learning the history of something, including the birth of crime organization.” Was that really it? I thought there was something deep behind his reason for taking me here.
Lastly, Blake took me to the third floor. There was a room where they played clips about the origin of the mobs. We watched it together and it was shown how the organization started. It all started in the late nineteenth century. The organization has been growing big ever since then. Until these days, they were spread everywhere across the country and they could be anywhere. Possibly right next to us, hiding in the dark.
As Blake stated before, although they were evil and heartless; I saw the clip on how they respected their family. Throwing a party like what a family does. They were just like normal family yet they did it in an extreme way to protect their group.
But I guessed I should just stay away from them.
Based on the clip, they were living in Vegas as well. Usually spending time or doing business involving casinos.
After we finished watching, we continued sightseeing at the museum while I took some pictures. Once we were done, we got out where Blake asked if I had another idea where they would be going next. I told him that I wanted to see Madame Tussauds and he took me there.
There were a lot of celebrities waxed statues there. I took a lot of pictures of them and sometimes I asked Blake to take my pictures with the statue. I asked him if he wanted to but he said no. Well, it’s not like Blake is the kind of person who would take his own selfies.
We spend almost an hour here. I was expecting a real celebrity would show up but it was just a dream. Once I was done here, Blake took me to lunch. We went to Caesar Palace and we were having lunch at Pub & Grill. The restaurant was owned by the famous Gordon Ramsay and I desperately wanted to try his signature Beef Wellington.
I promised myself that I would try that amazing menu if I had ever visited his restaurant.
“Did you have fun today?” Blake asked.
“Absolutely. After this, it’s your turn to think of where you wanted to take me. You always asked me where I wanted to go. It’s your turn now.”
“I already have everything planned for tomorrow and I don’t mind if you have something in mind for today.”
“Are you sure?” Blake nodded his head. “Then I would like to try the high roller tonight, and I haven’t taken look around the hotel as well.”
“Do you want to go back after lunch?”
“Yes.”
“Okay then.” And by the time our lunch just arrived.
We went back to the hotel after we finished our lunch. “I have arranged a spa for you and you can use it anytime you like. They will immediately put it in the bill.”
“I think I’m going to use it now.”
“Of course. Well, I’ll be waiting in our room,” Blake parted with me and headed to our room. I could see that he was actually tired but he was pushing himself for me.
I enjoyed my time during the spa. It was great and I felt more relaxed right after. All the muscles were loosened up and I feel lighter.
I went to the pool as I witnessed the water was so clear. I thought that I should try the pool tomorrow. I was preoccupied looking at the water as I bumped into someone and almost fell to the pool. “Watch out!” If he didn’t hold me as he grabbed my elbow and pulled me up. We both fell to the chair. Oh, man!
“Christ! Are you alright?” the man asked.
“Y-Yeah. I’m sorry.” I immediately stood up and looked at the person. A man, older than me with dark brown hair and the same color eyes. He was probably around Blake’s age and looked quite handsome. “I’m really sorry about that.”
“That’s okay,” he said and he stood up. Fixing his suits. That looked rather expensive. “Be careful here.”
“Yes, I will. I’m terribly sorry about what happened.”
“Stop. It’s okay, really,” he said while smiling so gently. “Well, I have to go now. Excuse me.” He turned around and walked away from me.
Once he was gone from my space, I turned to see him again and was thankful that he didn’t mad at me.
Even though he looked handsome, he was a little bit scary. Is he part of the crime organization here?
I shook my head. Feeling silly about my own thought and heading back to my room.
