Chapter 64

Book:Alpha's Revengeful Mate Published:2024-5-1

I was glad he was safe. He appeared odd. He avoided my look.
I couldn’t approach him, so I just looked at him tenderly and hoped he’d understand.
After catching my sight, he bowed his head, avoiding me.
I was disappointed and dejected.
Stephan Buther left mid-ceremony to use the restroom.
I decided to approach him.
“Excuse me, I need the bathroom.”
I sprang up and followed Stephan Buther.
I strolled the restroom hall while waiting for Stephan Buther.
After a time, he emerged.
I raced up and back-hugged him.
“Stephan Buther, you’re here! I’ve missed you so much.”
I gripped and inhaled his fragrance.
His fragrance put me at peace.
Stephan Buther’s reply made me lose my grin.
“Miss, do I know you?”
He pulled me aside and blinked.
“Miss? You don’t know me? This joke’s not funny!”
I felt like I was hit by lightning. I scrutinized his countenance for answers.
I thought he was Stephan Buther
Unbearable! Stephan Buther doesn’t know me? How could you not know me?
I gripped his wrist desperately.
“Stephan Buther, you terrify me. Don’t fool me!”
Stephan Buther said, “Daina? I don’t know you.”
His gaze seemed unfamiliar.
What? He looked like Stephan Buther, but acted differently.
I cried and hugged him again.
He was astonished.
I inhaled his fragrance and swallowed.
Rona appeared then.
She grabbed my wrist and pushed me.
I stumbled and glared at her.
“Miss, how dare you seduce my fiancée so openly?”
Rona grinned at me.
“You’re engaged to Stephan Buther?”
My eyesight nearly turned dark and I lost equilibrium.
Did she do anything to Stephan While I was gone? I was so astonished and enraged I nearly went mad.
Rona’s POV:
I felt Stephan Buther would accept me as his fiancée if we attended the wedding together.
Everyone said we were great together.
Daina also came.
That woman continued interfering. I suspected Stephan Buther would meet Daina at the Moonlight Pack before we departed.
She blocked Stephan Buther’s path to seduce him. This chick irritated me the most.
I couldn’t touch Stephan Buther.
When Daina embraced him, he didn’t push her away.
Seeing her with my boyfriend drove me nuts.
Would he treat Daina differently? 1 want her to weep because Stephan Buther didn’t recognize her.
“Is Rona your fiancee?” Daina questioned Stephan Buther.
When she dated Stephan Buther, I felt horrible too.
Daina finally got me. I smirked at her pain.
Stephan Buther didn’t reply.
I put my arm over his.
“Yes, I’m his fiancée. We’re engaged. Don’t be bashful. Our wedding should be soon.”
After hearing my advice, I figured Daina would abandon it.
She still looked at Stephan Buther with tears in her eyes, to my amazement.
I then saw her pull a ring from her pocket.
PaMikeing, I attempted to grab it before Stephan Buther spotted.
This ring and the one Stephan Buther lost were a pair.
Daina evaded me.
She showed Buther the ring.
“Stephan Buther, this is evidence of our love. I gave you my ring and you gave me yours. We pledged to care for each other’s rings until I returned. What happened while I was gone? Have you changed your mind? Why don’t you remember me?”
Daina was brazen to try to win back Stephan Buther’s affection.
Stephan Buther had forgotten her. Stephan Buther wanted a closer look at the ring, however.
The ring spun in circles before stopping at Daina’s feet.
I smacked Daina, furious.
How dare you attempt to fool Stephan Buther?
Daina froze.
She looked at Stephan Buther nevertheless.
I told Stephan Buther, “Let’s leave. She’s power-hungry. You don’t care.”
I grinned smugly at Daina while holding Stephan’s hand.
I never thought I’d be this proud.
I lifted my hand to hit her again, but she grabbed my wrist.
“Rona, enough!”
Stephan Buther held my wrist hard, dissatisfied.
Stephan Buther was still on her side?
Buther’s viewpoint:
Rona was polite and smart, as I recall.
Her conduct now disagrees.
She hated the stranger, but why? When I saw the hand-shaped mark on the she-face, wolf’s I felt bad.
Never felt this strongly about a she-wolf.
Seeing her wounded made me wish I’d hit her.
The she-wolf also seemed familiar.
Before? Her sight after being smacked made me very sad.
I released Rona’s wrist and took up her ring.
I gave it to the she-wolf after a short look.
“Are you hurt?”
She stared at me with a heartbroken despair.
I couldn’t respond “Stephan Buther, who is your fiancee?”
I blanked and didn’t answer her immediately.
“I’m Stephan Buther’s fiancée. Why is asAlpha so stupid? Everyone knows about our connection.”
I carefully distanced myself from Rona, but the she-eyes wolf’s were still on me.
“Who am I? What about this ring? Stephan Buther, did I mistake you?”
Her coffee-colored eyes hurt my heart.
I suffocated.
Is she trustworthy? I instantly felt upside down.
Daina’s POV:
Stephan Buther’s focus was off.
Could he have forgotten? His behavior toward Rona suggested he remembered her.
He forgot about me.
She couldn’t have Stephan Buther any other way.
If I’m correct, Rona was a schemer.
No wonder I hadn’t heard back from Stephan Buther.
He’d forgotten me.
Despite Rona’s best efforts, I could tell Stephan Buther didn’t like her.
He forgot about us, yet he was still faithful.
Will Stephan Buther believe me if I say Rona is lying and I’m his mate?
I asked him directly.
Just reveal Rona’s deception and tell Buther I was his mate.
As long as he believed me, he could forget me.
If necessary, I’d start again with him.
Long stillness ensued as I awaited Edgarrey’s response.
Stephan Buther looked at me, then Rona, and sighed.
“I’m sorry. You’re saying opposing things. I don’t know who to trust. I need to explore this on my own to uncover the truth.”
Stephan Buther’s voice sounded helpless and confused.
His recent experiences must have made him apprehensive.
I can’t fathom memory loss.
He saddened me.
Rona glared at me and said, “If you keep talking rubbish, I’ll make you suffer.”
I would have hit her if we weren’t at a dinner. Stephan Buther’s memory loss was her fault.
Now she’s claiming I’m the villain.
“Rona, if anybody is speaking gibberish, it’s you. The guilt must be making you flustered. How can you blame the victim in this situation? Do you think I’ll be terrified of you? Just wait and see.”
Rona became enraged by my short reply and slapped me again.
I gripped her wrist this time.
“Rona, what do you think you’re doing? I’m not a pushover. The only reason I didn’t teach you a lesson earlier is because I care for Mrs. Buther. But that doesn’t mean I’ll accept you no matter what you do.
