Daina’s POV:
I slept poorly again.
Tomorrow’s dinner makes me nervous. I was excited to see Stephan Buther again.
Knowing this meal marked Edenr’s anniversary as Alpha made me uneasy.
My father’s death was celebrated.
Eder was promoted after murdering my father and wrecking our family.
I hated him the most, but I had to watch him strut like a victor.
I dreaded facing him and Maria tomorrow. Their invitation was neither innocent nor kind.
They want trap me.
My uncle and Dason weren’t around, so I had to be extra careful.
Seeing Stephan Buther again made it all worthwhile.
Seeing Stephan Buther in person tomorrow could ease my concerns.
My bedside phone vibrated then.
Dason called when I answered.
“Dason, hello.”
I stepped to the window with the phone to my ear.
“Daina, Allen, and I arrived to castle. We asked about Mr. Stephan Buther and learned he’ll attend the Moonlight Pack feast tomorrow.”
“How’s he doing?”
“Don’t worry. He’s safe. Nothing happened to him. But we haven’t seen him yet. When we arrived at his house, Rona’s attendants stopped us. Allen and I are waiting for a chance to go back.”
I was relieved to hear that.
As long as he’s safe, I can rest.
“Allen and I will come back to be with you as soon as possible. I didn’t imagine that we wouldn’t get to see Mr. Stephan Buther this time. It’s so frustrating. But happily, you’ll meet soon. Otherwise, you’d miss him too much,” Dason said.
Dason laughed over the phone.
I hung up with a sad grin after a few more jokes.
Knowing Stephan Buther will be at tomorrow’s banquet, I had to go.
I dressed the following morning.
Since Stephan Buther hasn’t seen me in a while, I want to wow him.
Dason waited long for me. Knowing I wasn’t ready, he waited patiently below.
When I eventually stepped down, he said, “I’ll accompany you to the dinner. Tannu and Almond will be there, too. We must pretend we don’t know them, otherwise they’ll be in trouble.”
Dason and I had addressed the issue and agreed to remain vigilant at all times.
When we arrived, the meal was in full swing.
Well-dressed people arrived.
When I entered the dining hall, everyone stared.
She who?
“She resembles our Alpha’s daughter.”
Anyone who went near to her would have terrible luck, I heard.
Dason tightened his hands in rage and sought to put them in their place for whispering about him.
I shook his wrist and head.
“Ignore them. Sooner or later, the truth will emerge.”
Dason bowed and left.
Eden and Maria arrived.
As if a blanket were thrown over the dinner hall, the hubbub subsided.
Eden had sway over the Moonlight Pack werewolves, although it was probably out of fear.
Daina Barry, daughter of Alpha Daniel Barry, is a huge honor to the Moonlight Pack.
Eden proclaiming my identification in front of everyone was not something I was prepared for.
How could Daniel Bairi’s dead daughter be here?
So I spoke gracefully but loudly enough for everyone to hear.
“Back then, I was stuck in another pack. But I’m delighted to come back here. Thank you for remembering me. I hope the Moonlight Pack will fly to higher heights to fulfill my father’s dying request.”
When I mentioned so, several older tourists remarked on what a wonderful Alpha my father was and how hard he worked for our park.
Hearing that they loved my father warmed my heart.
The Moonlight Pack had changed.
Eden’s cough halted all taking.
Eden smiled and said, “Daina is always welcome in the Moonlight Pack. I’ll take excellent care of her to soothe Alpha Daniel in heaven. .”
I smiled and nodded politely while surreptitiously examining the werewolf.
I saw elders I recognized from childhood, new elders, and pack representatives.
Eden invited so many werewolves to this anniversary party.
Stephan Buther? A werewolf immediately notified that Stephan Buther and Rona had arrived.
Everyone saluted them with gunshots.
I couldn’t wait to see Stephan Buther again.
Stephan Buther entered the dinner hall first.
Still handsome.
Buther’s viewpoint:
Before today’s anniversary event, I checked on my mother.
I had to protect her. I gave her to my most trusted attendants.
I couldn’t go till my mum was ready.
Eden invited the Rosryal family to the party.
I volunteered when I learned the Rosryal family would send representatives.
This ceremony wasn’t meaningful to me.
My intuition prompted me to go, I don’t know why.
Now that my mother was poisoned, I’m nervous.
Rona remained unromantic to me.
Everyone I asked said we were a couple. This confused me further.
Today, I pushed my fears aside and went to Moonlight Pack with Rona to celebrate.
Ceremony was vibrant.
When we arrived, all of Moonlight Pack’s werewolves bowed to us.
“Don’t be too stiff. Today celebrates Eden’s 10th anniversary as Alpha. Have fun,”
“Perhaps they’ve dated.”
I heard werewolves discussing us. Their words made me frown.
Why did everyone believe Rona and I were great together except me?
I groaned and turned to see Rona smiling at the werewolves.
Eden brought us to the best seats in the hall.
Before announcing the anniversary party, he grinned and made sure we were comfortable.
Soon, food and wine arrived.
“Stephan Buther, I heard these entertainers are excellent. I heard they’ve been singing and dancing all day. I even heard there’s a clown act!
Rona toasted me.
“Cheers!”
I clinked her glass absentmindedly.
I sighed and unwillingly ate some beef.
I sensed someone watching me eat. A lovely girl was looking at me as I looked up.
Her eyes were lustful.
I finally bowed awkwardly.
I had no notion who the beautiful girl was.
Cara started restless as I was preparing to eat.
Cara cried in my head, “Stephan Buther, I like that girl!”
“She’s lovely and seductive. I believe she’ll do well.”
Eden toasted me .
I went to the restroom after a while.
Rona wanted to go, but I declined. Her personality was annoying.
She was clingy and often bugged me.
Daina’s POV
Seeing Stephan Buther at the party made me ecstatic.
It took bravery to attend Eden’s Alpha ceremony.
Stephan Buther’s attendance made the party worthwhile.
