Amidst the chaos, I vaguely heard the voice of Stephan Buther.
It sounded like someone was trying to persuade him to usurp the throne.
I want to open my eyes and agree, but I was still too weak.
Perhaps it was because I hadn’t slept properly in so long that I was so tired.
Even so, my mind was still sharp; I could hear what the elders outside were saying, but I didn’t hear anything from Stephan Buther.
I frowned slightly. I agreed vehemently with what the elders were saying.
After all, if Oku was bold enough to do such a thing to me, who could say what he would do to Stephan Buther and Daina? I couldn’t rest easy at all.
But first, I needed to open my eyes.
I struggled at first, but I managed to crack them open.
The world gradually grew clear to me. I was lying in my own room.
The doctors around me were running around like headless chickens.
I glanced up and saw an intravenous fluid bottle hanging.
Lastly, I saw Daina sitting next to me.
“Mrs. Stephan is awake!”
I heard her exclaim . I didn’t have any strength left. I could only sit up with the help of Daina.
Stephan Buther rushed to my bedside.
He gloomily watched as the doctors examined me.
Although Stephan Buther always cold and quiet to others, he was an obedient son.
“Stephan Buther, come here,” I said.
“I heard what you and the elders were talking about,” I said grimly.
“Mom, I’m sorry. I made you suffer.”
Stephan Buther pressed his face against the back of my hand, which was something he often did when he was a child.
Ever since he was young, I had taught him to apologize whenever he did something wrong. But my son had been getting more and more mature.
He hadn’t needed to apologize in years.
“Stephan Buther, Oku is no longer suitable to rule this Alpha. You’ve found your mate. Are you willing to endanger her? Just look at what happened to me!”
Stephan Buther suddenly raised his head from my hand and looked at Daina.
“Bring her here,” I told him.
Stephan Buther stood up and walked over to his mate. He slipped his hand in hers and led her to my bedside.
“Stephan Buther has found the mate, Daina Barry,” I announced loudly.
When the elders heard this, they broke into cheer.
“Now that Stephan Buther has found his mate, he needs to protect her. We have to discuss a plan to fight against Oku.” The elder then turned to me seriously.
Stephan Buther nodded resolutely.
The elders were forward to this moment for a long time.
“But how do we go about this?” This question made everyone present fall silent.
“How about we gather an army and break into the Rosryal palace? That sounds straightforward enough!”
“No, that’s not perfectly justifiable.” The elders then broke out in discussion.
After a while, I came up with a plausible idea.
“Isn’t the Silver Sea Pack being invaded by rogues?” I asked.
“How about we send Stephan Buther to go help them? he can build an alliance with them.” Everyone nodded in agreement with me.
“We should send Daina with him,” one of the elderssuggested .
I thought about it and decided it was feasible. Then I took the opportunity to add, “When they come back, we can hold an engagement ceremony for them and announce their mate bond.”
After all, Daina was the one who had saved me; plus, she was Stephan Buther’s destined mate. No one dared to question her validity. Once again, the elders agreed with my proposal.
“Stephan Buther, Daina, what do you think?” I looked at the sweet couple meaningfully.
Stephan Buther nodded with a smile.
“I think this sounds good. Thank you, Mom.”Daina also smiled shyly .
Seeing the way the two looked at each other made me feel so happy. I just wished they could stay safe.
POV: Rona
Pain woke me that morning.
I woke up with bruises and scabs all over my body.
I had to swallow my anger and pride and ask to go.
I had to entice him and pretend to collaborate to escape jail.
I could use Oku to separate Buther and Daina, but I wouldn’t be loyal to a pervert
I was freed from my hidden chamber.
When I heard Elizabeth had woken up, I ran to her room.
Lycans guarded her chamber.
Elizabeth was taking her meds as I entered.
She stared up at me, then away, before resting back down on the bed.
“Mom, what’s wrong? Are you uncomfortable or upset again?” I questioned.
She squinted as though to see through me.
“Rona, it’s too much of a coincidence that I was abducted in the fitting room that day. Don’t pretend it had nothing to do with you. ”
Losing Elizabeth’s trust would make achieving my aims more difficult.
How could I injure you, Mom?
I felt I could earn Elizabeth’s confidence since she was soft-hearted.
Her response was lukewarm, so I played my ace.
After you departed, I went to Oku for aid. Do you know what happened to me?
Elizabeth’s eyes widened in disbelief, and she appeared to relax.
“How were you hurt?”
She checked my bruises while speaking.
I rolled my sleeve swiftly, as though afraid to let anybody see the marks.
I knew Elizabeth’s attitude had softened when she said that.
I needed her compassion, so I started crying.
“He locked me up in a hidden room and raped me several times. If you refuse to assist me, I’d rather die.”
I wore a despondent expression to elicit Elizabeth’s sympathies.
She believed my suicide act and embraced me.
Elizabeth massaged my hair as she reassured me that we won’t need to fear Oku once Stephan Buther and Daina return.
Now that Stephan Buther was with Daina, I knew I wouldn’t be alongside him if he succeeded.
If Stephan Buther had decided to topple Oku’s reign, it was a significant choice. I needed time to process it.
I’d nearly forgotten about Daina with all that had occurred lately. I looked at Elizabeth with a bland face.
Elizabeth asked, “Where’s Daina?”
“She’s with Stephan Buther. If all goes well, they’ll be engaged shortly. ”
Daina! She’d marry Stephan Buther? I’d never tolerate that when I was alive.
Buther’s viewpoint:
The rogues attacked Silver Sea Pack.
Daina and I saw many rogues besieging the pack.
