Stephan Buther’s POV:
Daina volunteered to save my mom.
Despite finding some hints, I feared it was another Oku trap.
I assigned my guards to watch over Daina because I was anxious.
I didn’t sleep all night.
Oku told me to attend the meeting this morning. Oku was keen to arrange an early Rosryal elders’ meeting.
He gathered the elders in the conference hall to greet me.
It took me more than two hours to get ready, change, and arrive.
This was my first challenging elders’ meeting. Everyone turned when I entered.
I was about to lose my Rosryal inheritance.
Two factions of elders existed.
One party supported Oku, while the other believed I’d topple him and become Alpha.
Oku’s supporters drew out a document confirming that I was giving up my claim to inherit the kingdom.
They thought I’d sign today.
They didn’t know that the Alpha held my mother captive so I’d sign the pact.
My elders didn’t know Oku hid my mother.
When Oku questioned whether I’d give up my throne right, they were astonished and bewildered.
“Stephan Buther, have you signed the contract?”
“I haven’t thought it through yet. What do you think, elders?”
My hesitation made the elders turn to Oku.
Since Stephan Buther hasn’t decided, let’s talk later.
Everyone wants to delay this issue.
Oku scowled and looked at me. He used his phone.
“I’m not in a hurry. What about you? You may take your time thinking about it. I don’t know if you have the time to do that.” It was a veiled threat.
He gave me the prepared paper and obviously wanted me to sign it. If I didn’t, he would call his guards and instruct them to murder my mother.
For my mother’s sake, I grabbed a pen.
Before signing, Daina called.
“We have her.”
I put down the pen and glanced around the room.
“I’m not signing this. ” I left everyone behind and raced to visit her and my mother. The elders who hoped I wouldn’t sign the agreement couldn’t stop me from going.
Oku’s perspective:
Stephan Buther changed his mind about signing the arrangement.
How did they locate Elizabeth? I thought I’d concealed her properly.
I was going to harbor another grudge against that jerk for changing his mind.
“Stephan Buther! Don’t you want to rescue Elizabeth before you leave? ”
I forced him to sign the contract.
Buther departed . The elders were stunned.
I just informed everyone I threatened Stephan Buther with Elizabeth.
I was the country’s legitimate Alpha, so what if the elders found out?
“With Stephan Buther gone, the meeting’s done”
I dismissed the elders.
I returned to my room in a bad mood till I realized Rona was locked up.
I passed the bed, touched a button, and entered the hidden chamber.
Rona smiled.
I considered fucking her to relieve my rage.
Rona attempted to gratify me by sitting on my lap.
I leaned back against the couch as she groped me.
I gripped her chin and forced her look at me since she seemed weird.
Rona kissed my cheek.
She placed her breast against mine and her hands on my waist.
“When can I leave, Oku?”She grinned.
I believed she was rutting since she was so subservient.
I gave her what she wanted, but she left.
Rona gripped my waist and pouted.
“I’m lonely. Let me out. I can assist you deal with Daina and the others. I know they’re alive. You need aid.”
“Who said they’re alive?”
Had Stephan Buther contacted her, she may have betrayed me.
Rona’s face became blue as I pinched her neck.
She couldn’t breathe and attempted to free herself.
“Ahem…”
As she breathed, Rona coughed and wheezed.
When she felt better, she told the guards, “Since they’re still alive, you should let me go. I can do a lot for you.”
“Are you pleased Stephan Buther’s alive?”
I don’t want him to die, but if they’re all happy, what chance do I have to win his heart? If you let me go, I’ll make sure Stephan Buther stops threatening you. We all get what we want. ”
“I’m yours now, so don’t worry. I’ll assist you as long as you let me go.
I could no longer threaten Stephan Buther once Elizabeth was rescued.
If Elizabeth still considered Rona her daughter, she may be useful.
As long as I controlled Rona, she shouldn’t be able to fool me.
“Fine. Remember, I have proof against you. If you…”
Rona vowed she wouldn’t betray.
Stephan Buther’s POV:
When I heard that my mother was rescued, I felt so relieved.
Daina had taken her back using my private plane.
I rushed to see my mother, and those elders who support me also followed.
They were happy that I didn’t sign the agreement to give up the right to inherit the throne.
However, when I got to her room, my mother didn’t hug me with a smile .
I found her lying in bed, unconscious.
The room was crowded with several doctors.
As they discussed my mother’s condition, we had no choice but to wait outside for the time being.
I sighed in frustration.
The cause of my father’s death was still unknown, and now my mother was suffering because of Oku.
If I had found my mother earlier, maybe she wouldn’t have ended up in this position.
The elders were very angry.
They knew that Oku had threatened me, demanding I sign the agreement that absolved my right to inherit the throne.
“How dared Oku hurt Mrs. Stephan ? He doesn’t deserve to be Alpha!” .
One of the elders tried his best to persuade me.
“Stephan Buther, we can’t let Oku’s reign continue. With such a cruel Alpha in power, our pack is doomed.”
“That’s right,” another elder echoed.
“It’s not a simple scruple among the family. The survival of the Alpha rests on this.”
“You should seize the throne as soon as possible. We can’t delay any longer.”
“Stephan Buther, you have our unwavering support.”
Everyone in the room spoke up.
They were all really worked up over this.
I glanced inside the room as they continued to discuss. I saw Daina sitting by my mother’s bedside, looking back at me with a worried expression.
Even until now, I couldn’t find out the real cause of my father’s death, so I had shoved this thought to the back of my mind time and time again.
But with what happened to Daina and my mother, I needed to seriously consider overthrowing Oku.
I could try seizing his power by force, but I knew I wasn’t as powerful as him yet. I needed to find the right timing.
As I was deep in thought, I heard my mother stir.
At this time, nothing was more important than my mother’s safety.
Elizabeth’s POV:
I felt so tired that I couldn’t open my eyes.
Despite this, I could feel that I had been moved to a different place, but the voices of discussion around me were very familiar.
