Arabella’s point of view.
It’s was already nightfall when I arrived home (palace), even though Edward drove very fast and shortened a 40minutes drive to 20minutes -we left evergreen pack very late, because I was having a great time with my family and almost forgot evergreen’s no longer my home.
Even some of the royal guards were already having dinner when I stepped in the general house, at evergreen it’s called pack-house, but it’s called general house here in Wymond’s region since his region consists of all kind of supernatural creatures -weird.
They were all laughing loudly at a joke but quickly stopped when they felt my presence, they quickly sprang up almost at once and greeted me with a bow.
“Welcome, your highness” they chorused as though they’ve rehearsed it before.
“Thanks” I waved at them and smiled awkwardly.
My eyes searched the table for Wymond but he’s nowhere to be found, Edward cleared his throat beside me which made me turn to face him.
“His Majesty is upstairs” he said, nodding towards I and Wymond’s room.
“Hm” I hummed, then headed upstairs.
“Oh” he stopped me halfway through the stairs. “… and he said you should open your link or he’s gonna forcefully break through”
I scoffed as my eyeballs rolled in accordance, he’s gonna break through? He’s just bluffing, he would have done it earlier instead telling someone to warn me.
“Good night, Ed” I wished him a goodnight instead, winked at him and ran off.

The sweet scent of a chicken casserole filled my nostrils immediately I set foot in our room, my greedy stomach growled loudly, as though I didn’t just finished two bowls of rice before coming home.
As if my legs have a mind of their own, they paddled their way towards the sitting area where the scent was coming from and my mouth fell open at the sight that behold me.
“Wow!” I exclaimed quietly. “What do we have here? Are we holding a feast tonight? Or has my coronation been brought forward?” I asked rhetorically.
My bag slumped down from my shoulder and fell on the ground, I quickly sat on a sofa as I anxiously rubbed my hands together and wondered where I should start from.
But then, I lost every appetite when I heard the voice I didn’t wanna hear tonight.
“Welcome back, baby” you know who said with a sweet smile, but I simply sighed.
He dropped a jar of honey on the table, he took long strode towards me and sat on the space next to me on my sofa -I quickly moved away from him and created small space between us.
“You came back from school later than expected, any reasons?” he asked as he briefly shifted his gaze to the wall clock.
He’s asking for reasons, I scoffed mentally, as if Edward hasn’t already told him I went to evergreen pack.
“I went to see mom” I answered him anyway.
“You went to see mom?” he’s feigning ignorance, continue pretending. “Is everything ok back home? Is mom and Arthur ok?”
“Yeah, they are doing great” I answered.
“Good, that’s a relief” he said.
I reached for an empty glass to pour myself some water, but he snatched it from me and poured the water for me.
“Since they’re doing fine, why did you suddenly go to see them?”
“Mom’s going on a date” I simply answered then gulped down the water.
His brows furrowed slightly as he nodded thoughtfully.
“She’s still young and having a man around her is very necessary” he said.
My head snapped towards him as he say those words, he just reminded me of Arthur because this is definitely what Arthur would say, in fact, he’s saying it everytime.
“It’s not necessary that she needs a man around her, she can do perfectly fine without a man!” I snapped at him.
He raised his hands in surrender, it seemed like he’s noticed I’m snapping at him because of last night’s resentment I harboured against him.
“You’re right, she doesn’t necessarily need a man around her” he agreed.
I huffed and turned my face away from him.
“I was worried when I couldn’t get to you through our mind-link, it seems like you blocked me out” he said.
“Of course, I didn’t wanna hear your voice”
“Are you still mad at me?” he asked.
“Absolutely yes”
He chuckled at my response, he stared at me for a few moments and sighed.
“There’s nothing to be mad at, baby, it’s just…”
I raised a brow at him which shut him up immediately, he took a deep breath and cleared his throat.
“Fine, it’s my fault for not telling you about my private house, but I didn’t think it’s necessary since something bad happened there” he explained.
Something bad? Excuses, he just doesn’t wanna take me there because he’s still in love with his dead mate, maybe I’ll wipe off their sweet memories when I get there.
“There were no sweet memories between us, and I’m long over her -even before you came into the picture” he said.
“Stop reading my thoughts!” I snapped at him.
He raised his hands with a smile, then reached for my hands and held them gently.
“It’s not as if I don’t wanna take you there, I’m just scared that there are still ill-fate lurking around that house and I don’t want it to rub on you…”
I narrowed my eyes, like seriously, I didn’t know my mate, the King of all supernatural creatures would be so superstitious -cute. I love this part of him anyway.
“Trust me, I promise I’ll take you there when the time is right, but first there’s something I wanna talk to you about”
I sighed, he’s a proud man and I’m not expecting an apology from him anymore, but I think his explanation is logical.
“What do you wanna talk about?” I asked.
“It’s about the vampire clans, they’re suffering from a very deadly plague and I will be paying them a visit soon, to check what’s going on”
I nodded.
“Hm”
I’ve heard about the plague from some of the royal guards, but I don’t know the details.
“I was wondering if you’d come with me”
He’s asking if I wanna come? A trip to the vampire kingdom?! Of course I’d come with him, I’ve always wanted to visit the vampire kingdom and see how they live their everyday life.
Wait, I can’t show my over excitement or he’s gonna know I’m no longer mad at him, I love having him coo me. I cleared my throat and kept a blank face.
“Is it necessary for me to come?” I asked in a nonchalant tone.
“No, but I won’t feel assured leaving you behind and….”
“Well” I cut him off. “I’ll come with you since you’re insisting” I said.
“But I haven’t even finish my words”
I placed a finger on his lips.
“No matter what your unfinished words are, I’ll still come with you!” I said firmly.
He stared at me with a frown, then grinned widely and pulled me off the sofa onto his laps.
“Does this mean you’re no longer mad at me?” he asked hopefully.
I scoffed.
“You tell me”
“I think you’re not” he said, he held my chin and placed a kiss on my lips.
But I guess my stomach doesn’t wanna let him have a good time, it growled again reminding me that I still haven’t eaten the casserole.
I quickly glided off Wymond’s laps and sat back on the sofa.
“We’ll play later, let me fill my stomach first” I told him as I reached for a plate and started dishing it.
“Baby, are you…?” he trailed off.
I looked down at my plate and saw the mountain of food on it.
“It’s normal, I’m a wolf”
He simply nodded. I ignored him and started eating.
