Arabella’s point of view.
Alpha King’s mate? Can’t he do this simple math? The one and only minister of state affairs in the entire supernatural world is calling me highness, can’t he figure out why?
I sighed mentally.
If only he knows my mate’s way higher and mightier than the Alpha King. I opened my mouth to answer his question, but Edward beat me to his.
“Her highness is King Wymond’s mate” he stated.
I facepalm myself.
“Er… Edward, would you take it easy with the your highness stuff?” his brows furrowed slightly. “Relax, Wymond’s not here and he won’t find out you addressed me by my name”
“But…”
“Ara, please” I pleaded with him in a firm voice.
He wanted to say something in return, but Donavon cut him off.
“Fuçk!” he shouted. “You mean she’s the queen? I’m standing with the queen of all supernatural creatures?!”
Daphne and I exchanged looks, then sighed as we both hugged each other and touched our foreheads -she understands the reason I didn’t tell Donavon who my mate is.
I kinda knew he’s gonna react this way, that’s why I didn’t wanna reveal my identity. He looked between Daphne and I for answers, I pulled away from the hug, released a sigh and nodded.
“Yeah, I’m the queen and there’s really nothing special about me” I said casually.
He was standing straight, but started falling back as if he’s about to collapse. Daphne quickly caught him and steadied him, then laughed at his shocked expression.
“I.. I.. I…” he closed his eyes briefly and took a deep breath. “I… I never imagined a day would come where I’ll stand next to a royalty, I…”
I slapped his shoulder playfully.
“Come on, you’re making me feel so special, I’m just a normal girl” I said.
“No” he shook his head in disagreement. “You’re special, very special and I swear I can kiss the ground you’ve stepped on right now”
I laughed loudly.
“Ok, that’s enough, stop feeding my ego or it’s gonna get bigger than my head” we all laughed at my joke.
Daphne linked their arms as she stared at him in the eye.
“Didn’t you say you wanna invite Ara to have dinner with us?” she reminded him.
“Yeah” he turned back to me. “Em, will you…”
“No” I answered before he could finish his question. “I’ll have dinner with you guys some other time, I have a personal issue to address today”
“Oh”
“Yeah” I faced Daphne. “You guys should have fun”
She pouted her lips.
“Don’t tell me we’re gonna drift apart soon because of dîcks” she said, whispering the last part though.
I laughed but shook my head.
“Never, we’re inseparable”
“Good”
I nodded, leaned forward and kissed her cheek, then gestured towards Donavon’s car.
“Go on”
They waved at me before heading towards their car, I waved them back until they’re already in and drove out of sight.
“Your highness?” Edward called me, reminding me of his presence.
“Let’s go to my mom’s” I told him and started walking towards his car.
“Your mom’s?” I nodded. “But His Majesty instructed I bring you straight to the palace, it seems he has something to discuss with you and…”
I stopped and turned to him with raised eyebrows.
“Are you gonna take me there? Or I should go in a cab and you’ll explain why I left in a cab to Wymond?” I asked.
His shoulders slumped down as he released a tired sigh.
“I’ll take you” he said.
“Thank you” I winked at him and approached the car.

(EVERGREEN PACK_HUMPHREY’S RESIDENT)
The drive from legends creation college to our pack was very fast and short, and ten minutes later, I’m already sitting in front of my mom in our living room.
She’s watching a TV show.
“Mom, I heard you’re going on a date with Alpha Jarek?” I asked politely after a few minutes of silence.
“Hm” she nodded with a small smile, her eyes still focused on the tv.
“Who’s arranging this date? Arthur, right?”
“Yes” she answered.
I leaned back on the sofa, reached for a cushion and hugged it to my chest.
“Mom, I know you’ve been a single mom since dad’s death and you’ve done a lot for Arthur and I, you’ve been both mom and dad to us, which I’m very grateful for”
I paused and glanced at her to check her expression, but she wasn’t even looking at me, her eyes were still very much focused on the tv but I can tell from the smile on her face that she’s listening to me, so I continued.
“I want nothing more at the moment than your happiness, I’m very happy you’ve moved on from dad and fallen in love with someone else, I’m very happy you’re willing to give love a second chance…”
This last statement made her averted her gaze from the tv, she gave me her complete attention this time.
“… and honestly, I like the person you’ve chosen, but are you really sure he is the one for you?”
“Ara, I know you’re worrying about a lot of things at the moment” she reached for my hands. “But trust me, Alpha Jarek is a good man and he’s gonna take good care of me” she said.
“Mom, don’t rush into any relationship because you’ve been alone for too long, or because Arthur’s urging you to… you have all the time in the world to study him more”
She smiled, reached forward and caressed my right cheek.
“Baby, I have studied him enough, he’s a good man and I believe he’s gonna treat you and Arthur nicely like his own children”
“I’m not worrying about Arthur and I, after all, were not the ones who’s gonna spend every single day with him”
“I’ll be fine, my babygirl”
She sounded so confident in the choice she’s made and I trust her, mom’s never made any mistakes when taking decisions, this shouldn’t be an exception too.
“Alright, mom, I trust you” I said.
Mom opened her arms and I hugged him briefly, but a very annoying voice pulled us apart.
“What are you trying to do, Ara?” Arthur’s voice sounded from behind.
“Speak of the devil and he’d appear” I muttered under my breath.
“Are you against mom’s happiness?” he asked as he slumped on a sofa that’s kinda far from me.
I scoffed mentally.
He doesn’t even know what’s going on and he’s concluded I don’t want mom and Alpha Jarek together, well, might as well teach him a lesson.
“Mom and Alpha Jarek are in love, while me on the other hand, I’m doing everything to help them get together and…”
I cut him off by throwing my bag at him which he dodged successfully, but that didn’t stop me from chasing him and he dashed out of the living room into his room, then he locked the door from inside.
“What do you know about love, Mr flirty pants?”
“I know a lot about love and I’m doing all this for mom’s good, she needs a man in her life and…”
“SHUT UP!!” I screamed loudly, almost pulling the roof with my voice.
