Third person’s point of view.
(King’s office)
Wymond stood by the glass window watching people playing on the beach, he could get a perfect view of the beach since his window is facing it.
His eyes zeroed on a group of children who were playing by the beach, he watched the children playing with sand and woods.
He chuckled and shook his head when he realized they were trying to build a sand castle, his palace to be precised.
“Kids” he muttered.
His eyes lit up as he was watching them, seeing how carefree the children are raced his mind back to his childhood days -thousand years ago and he couldn’t help the smile that spread on his face.
Right at that moment, a knock sounded from the door, he took a sniff and perceived a very familiar scent.
“Edward” he called without turning away from the children.
Edward gently pushed the door open and walked in.
“Your Majesty” he greeted with a bow when he’s near Wymond.
“Hm” Wymond replied still not taking his eyes off the children. “Come here” he called Edward.
Edward took a step closer to him, but his head remained bowed.
“Look at these children” he said.
Edward raised his head slightly and looked towards them.
“What can you see in them?” he asked Edward.
There’s a brief moment of silence as Edward studied the children for a while.
“Er…” he sighed. “I don’t see nothing, your Majesty” he replied.
Wymond tore his gaze from the children and settled them on Edward, then he shook his head.
“Unity, love and patience” he said.
“Huh?” Edward asked, he sounded as if he couldn’t comprehend what Wymond was trying to say.
“They have a lot of things adults lack, they’re united, they have love for one another and they are patient with each other”
Edward looked at the children again, he realized little details that he might have overlooked the first time; the little ones among them were heaping sand, the bigger ones were carrying the woods and trying to make their castle stand, they’d also helped each other wipe off their sweats.
“If only everyone is as simple minded as they are” he said.
Wymond nodded his head in agreement.
“Our supernatural world would have been a peaceful place if Oak wasn’t so greedy, he wouldn’t be causing so much havoc if he’d let go of the past sins and hatred” Wymond said.
*We would have mated with our mate and know how sweet she is* Hades growled.
*Yes, I’d tear Oak apart if I get him in my hands* Lucifer (Wymond’s dragon side) growled in support of Hades’ words.
He quickly shut them out, sighed and walked back to his chair.
“Tell me, what did you find out?” he asked.
“Right, I just got news about the pearl bead” Edward said.
“Yes?”
“Our secret spies has sent news, according to them, the detector has finally lit up near a cave outside evergreen pack” he reported.
Wymond’s eyebrows furrowed.
“A cave near evergreen pack?”
“Yes, your Majesty” Edward answered. “Which simply means the pearl bead must be in the cave”
Wymond’s frowned deepened, he leaned back on his chair and squinted his eyes as he thought about something for a moment.
“It’s not that simple”
“What’s not that simple?” Edward asked.
“The pearl wasn’t in that cave before, our spies has searched far and wide but couldn’t find it, why did it suddenly appear there?” he asked rhetorically but Edward answered anyway.
“According to the spies, the masked man was spotted lurking around that area recently, it’s possible he’s living there and the pearl is with him”
“That’s not possible, the pearl has always been under Oak’s care until he claimed to have lost it unless… ” Wymond trailed off and narrowed his eyes.
“Unless he actually lost it and the masked man found it, or Oak’s actually the masked man” Edward finished Wymond’s unfinished words.
“Exactly” Wymond agreed.
Edward dropped some photos on the table and pushed them towards Wymond.
“Your Majesty, her highness’s secret guards sent a message earlier”
“Speak” Wymond permitted him and reached for the photos, but doesn’t look at them yet.
“There’s a serious problem at evergreen pack”
He (Wymond) raised an eyebrow at him to continue, he nodded and continued.
“Seven pups went missing last night and some pack warriors who were sent to the neighboring pack were attacked on their way by these creatures” he nodded at the photos in Wymond’s hands.
Wymond looked down at the photos and his eyebrows raised in surprise as he clenched his jaw and he shut his eyes for a moment.
“Oak!” he growled lowly.
“I think so too” Edward said.
“He’s finally taking actions” he muttered very lowly. “How may packs has this things attack?” he asked waving the photos.
“Hm, we’re don’t know for now, but I have sent people to investigate about it”
“Who snapped these photo?”
“We don’t know too, we found them at the borders of evergreen” Edward answered.
“Quick, station different group of fighters to each pack and clan, they must protect each pack or clan with their lives!”
“Yes, your Majesty”
Wymond turned his chair around and faced the window, he looked at the photos again with very deep frown.
“Oak, it’s about time” he said to himself.
He turned his chair around again and faced Edward.
“Where’s my queen?” he asked.
“Oh, she arrived some minutes ago and I last saw her when she was headed towards your room”
“Hm, go and station those fighters now!”
“Yes, your Majesty” with that Edward rushed towards the door.
“Wait” Wymond called him back. “Inform all the Kings and leaders, they must be in my palace first thing tomorrow morning!”
“Yes, Majesty” then Edward left.
Wymond turned one of the photo only to see some words written in blood.
*See you soon*
He smirked as he stared at the words. “See you soon, indeed” he said.
★★★★★
Arabella’s point of view.
I threw my small handbag random on a sofa and kicked off my shoes, then fell on our bed and released a long sigh -it’s been a long, long day.
My stomach growled loudly and I groaned quietly, I rubbed it for a moment.
My eyes looked around until they found the wall clock, a gasp slipped off my mouth when I interpreted what the time was saying and I sat up at once.
“It’s already 4pm?!” I shouted.
Does that mean I spent almost eight hours at our pack?
No, no, no, I better get my butts in the kitchen and eat something, or I might die of hunger even before I know how it feels to have Wymond buried deeply in me.
*Pervert* Amy teased me.
I scoffed.
*As if you don’t want it too* I fired back at her and shut her out.
I headed towards the door, but my legs halted abruptly when my eyes caught a note laying on one of the pillows.
I tilted my head as my legs inched towards it with a deep frown, strange.
Was this note left by Wymond? But why would he leave a note? Couldn’t he wait to see me and tell me whatever he wanna say?
My hand reached for the note, then a very familiar scent filled my nostrils, it’s a scent I’ve tried very hard to forget for two years and I realized the note was from him.
Edward said Wymond’s protection spell is still intact, then how did he get in? Unless…
He must have given it to the insider working with him, doesn’t this mean the insider’s scent would still be on the note?
I quickly sniffed the note and truly there’s a foreign scent apart from Drake’s, I think I’ve perceived it somewhere before -maybe once or twice.
My eyes squinted as I tried to recall where I had perceive it, then it dawned on me -it’s elder Marshall.
He’s the spy.
