Arabella’s point of view.
“Ara, my other siblings and I are gonna be leaving tomorrow” Renee said.
We’re currently outside the door of her room, she pushed it open and wr stepped in.
“You’re leaving so soon?” I asked.
“Yeah” we headed towards the sitting area in her room. “Have a seat” she offered me a sofa.
I made myself comfortable in one of the sofas, but she walked towards a fridge in her room, instead of sitting down and took out a bottle of wine.
“Why are you leaving so soon?” I asked.
She smiled at my question.
“My purpose of coming was to who my brother’s mate is and to kick her out if she isn’t up to my standards”
“Oh”
“Yeah” she wagged her brows at me.
I cleared my throat.
“So… am I up to your standards?”
She sat on a sofa across mine, she leaned back and accessed me for a moment, then nodded slowly.
“You’ve got a heavy @ss, although not as heavy as mine but it’s a pass”
We laughed at her joke, she’s even prouder and full of herself than me.
“You’ve got a beautiful face and a lot of sassy vibes, you don’t let others take you for granted -I love that about you most” she winked at me. “I officially welcome you to the family” she said.
“Thank you” I thanked her.
We stayed in silence as she popped the wine open, but she broke the silence soon after.
“So… what’s the deal between you and Wymond? Why are you two fighting?” she asked me.
I rolled my eyeballs and leaned back on the sofa, with my arms folded on my chest grumpily.
“I took him out to have fun at the park, but it was a total mess”
“You took Wymond to the park?” she asked, sounding very surprised.
“Yeah”
She shook her head.
“Of course it’s gonna be a total mess, because my brother’s still in the ancient days in his mind…”
Aha, even his sister knows he’s too ancient.
“… adjusting to things of this generation would take some time, because he never leaves the palace before meeting you -so, bringing him to the park was bound to be a mess” she said.
“Yeah, he didn’t let me on any fun ride, he kept saying it’s dangerous and the only time he agreed to let me have some fun; Edward showed up and Wymond got angry then ordered we come back to the palace without any clear explanation” I threw my hands in the air to show my frustrations.
I scoffed unbelievably.
“I’m his mate, not his dog whom he can just order around”
Renee chuckled loudly at my words.
“Ara baby, right now isn’t the right time to throw tantrums, because what happened today is like a slap on Wymond’s face…”
She trailed off as she was pouring wine in two glasses, she handed me a cup and took a sip from the other, then nodded in satisfaction.
“… and although he’s the King, there are still some situations where he answers to his subjects” she paused and took another sip. “Let’s take what happened today as an example, the elders must be waiting for him in the meeting hall as we speak and demanding for answers”
“Well, he should have given me a hint of what’s going on”
“Ara, you’re now the queen of all supernatural creatures even though your coronation hasn’t taken place yet, you should learn to understand and tolerate your King -your mate”
Tolerate some like Wymond? I don’t think I can, not when his mood swings are just unbearable.
“You can tolerate him, Wymond is trying his best to change himself to the man of your dreams, I know he’s not doing so well at it but he’s putting efforts and we can all see that”
She got up from her sofa and sat on the sofa next to mine, she reached for my hands.
“You should also put effort in your relationship too, there are times you shouldn’t question his authority and listen to him, because even though you’re important to him, his subjects are also important to him”
“But….”
“Babygirl, you should know he’s the King and he doesn’t belong to you alone -though he belong to you alone in bed” she laughed at her joke.
I would have laughed too but I couldn’t, because I just realized she’s right and I’ve been kinda selfish and self-centered recently, now I couldn’t help but feel ashamed of myself.
“You don’t have to be ashamed of anything” Renee said.
Oh, I forgot she can read thoughts too.
“Every relationship have their ups and downs, it’s what makes the relationship stronger”
I sighed.
“Thank you, Renee, but…” I trailed off.
“You must be wondering how you’re gonna apologize to Wymond, right?”
I nodded quickly, I offended him and it’s only right if I apologize.
“Go to the meeting hall and you’ll know what to do”
“Huh?!” I exclaimed loudly. “Wymond wouldn’t let me into the meeting hall, I don’t wanna annoy him even more”
“You’re the queen and Wymond can’t send you out because naturally you’re supposed to be in that hall at situations like this” she said.
I took a deep breath and nodded.
“Ok, I’ll do something for him as an apology, but that doesn’t mean I’m not mad at him for almost strangling me to death”
“Of course, you just spoke my mind and I’m with you on this one” she supported me.

Third person’s point of view.
(Meeting hall)
“Your Majesty” the elders greeted and bowed respectfully immediately Wymond sat on his chair.
He waved at them and they sat down chorusing ‘thank you’. Then silence fell on them as they (the elders) were looking at each other, silently deliberating on who’s gonna speak first.
“Your Majesty” elder Marshall finally spoke. “What happened today was very disastrous and it was due to a flaw in spell, so we… ”
He trailed off and looked at the others, as if asking for their permission to speak on their behalf -they nodded at him and gave him a go ahead.
“… we would like to know if you renewed the spell recently?”
Wymond massaged his forehead gently.
“Yes, I did yesterday before leaving the palace” he answered.
“You left the palace?” Elder Marshall scoffed. “Now it’s very obvious why there was a flaw in your spell” he said with a hint of rudeness.
Wymond snapped his eyes open, he balled his fist and narrowed his eyes at the tone elder Marshall just spoke with him.
Even the other elders gave him a strange look, wondering why he would speak to the King in such manner.
“Marshall, what are you talking about? Does the King have to report to you before leaving the palace?” An elder asked him.
“No, he doesn’t” elder Marshall answered. “But I think His Majesty is neglecting his duties since he’s found his mate” he said, directing his words towards Wymond.
“How dare you, Marshall? Do you know what you’re saying can get you killed?” the oldest elder growled at him.
Elder Marshall looked straight at Wymond and scoffed.
“His Majesty knows exactly what I’m saying, since he found his mate, he’s been neglecting his duties and having too much fun and intimate with her” he paused. “We should get ride of that whöre or she’s gonna bring our King down…”
Wymond couldn’t hold himself back anymore, he banged on his table loudly when elder Marshall referred to his mate as a whöre.
He sprang up and was about pouncing on elder Marshall when the doors pushed open, a very familiar and addicting scent filled the air, overwhelming Wymond’s scent and making him stop on his tracks.
“Your highness” the elders bowed respectfully when Ara entered the hall -except elder Marshall.
Ara simply smiled at them, then turned to her mate, she waved at him and signaled him to sit down which he did at once.
She looked around the elders, then cleared her throat lightly.
“It’s my first time attending meeting with everyone and it’s nice, but sorry that our first meeting is about disaster” she sighed and shook her head. “But let’s get down to business”
She walked towards an empty chair by Wymond’s left hand, it’s obvious the chair is made for the queen -she sat down and cleared her throat again.
“About the incident that happened today, let’s review it together, what do you say darling?” she asked staring at Wymond and flashed him a smile.
Wymond narrowed his eyes as he stared at his mate, as if he’s trying to figure out something, then he cleared his throat when realization dawned on him.
“Yes, let’s review it” he answered.
Ara nodded and began.
“The mist came unexpectedly, a guard’s uniform also caught fire unexpectedly and a prisoner went missing just when the fire was put out” her eyes wandered around the elders. “Don’t you find it suspicious?” she asked.
The elders thought about her words and started whispering among themselves, but elder Marshall was busy looking around with a frown.
“There is a spy among us”
Ara said and they all kept quiet to listen to her.
“Whoever broke the prisoner out couldn’t have done it alone, he had help from the inside and that’s what we should be looking into -not I and my mate’s intimate time together” she locked gaze with elder Marshall as she said those words.
